Thanks for posting, removing the bracket/caliper will make this job a LOT easier, e.g. save time, easier to clean, easier to retract pistons, no bleeding required. Putting bike on center stand will alleviate the need to jack the rear with you scissor jack.

Why are you bleeding off the brake fluid instead of letting it return to the reservoir ?
How did the E B C workout im due to replace im looking for sintered rear brakes ???? Thanks

Boot lace is a great idea! Did you decide if you like the EBC over OEM? They don't seem as good on my Victory.
The verdict's still out on the BMW. I do like them better on my Harley though (pre Brembo).
