You're doing a wonderful job Antonis 👏 Just a curiosity, I know you have to wait a while before varnishing the icon, even 6 months, but how quickly can an icon be varnished without getting damaged in any way? Thank you
After doing the monochromatic underpainting, It seems to be that the whole underpainting is blocked out with the green tone. Is the green tone somewhat of a 'wash? Allowing you to still see the underpainting?
Beatiful icon! Antonis, i want to ask you a question in iconography. I want to start iconography but i dont have very much money, so i cannot afford egg tempera, fancy brushes or gold leaf. I have acrylic gesso and i can probably only use gold leaf for halos and i use acrylic paints. Can untraditional tools be used for a icon made for spiritual worship and veneration? I really love the beauty and tradition of iconography, so i want to paint icons but i dont know if i can make icons for veneration. Also can you pray for me? I have a lot of temptation and stress so prayers would be very helpful! God bless ☦️🕊️
