Good review, Jerry. I don't know about it being an "ale". I think it's a lager. All searches online seem to indicate it's a low temperature fermentation with the ice being scraped off. I was under the impression that your neighbor to the south (Texas) requires all beer above 5 percent abv to be labeled as ale. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure this is a lager. Regardless one of the best cheap beers around for the price, when you could find it. You mentioned Red Dog. Man I miss that beer. Best wishes to you in 2024.
Thanks Jeremy. It said Ale on the can, so that's always what I go with. Ok cool, I wasn't thinking it was something like that kind of process. Hmmmm, I've never heard that about Texas before, but their could be some truth in that for all I know. I agree Jeremy , a really good tasting Cheaper beer, and a good example of an Ice Beer. Oh yeah, RED DOG, I miss it to man, Thanks for the comment, and compliment buddy, and Best Wishes to you in 2024 as well
I used to "love" Icehouse like 20 years ago... Not sure if it's just me getting older, if it's worse or both. Not sure where you're at but if you can find it I recommend South Paw from Plank Road, it's a "light" beer but 5%! But back to the House, honestly I prefer Bud Ice over it which is also 5.5% but seems to have less of that metallic taste and not as bad of a hangover from it. Been trying to move away from these cheaper beers when I can afford it and am currently enjoying a CAN of Warsteiner. Not sure when it happened exactly but at some point it became available in cans. I think the 24 pack is about 24 dollars so a buck a can which is like 60 cents less than the same thing in a bottle. Mainly I'm trying to avoid corn and German beer is corn free.
I was drinking Hamm's, PBR, and Coors around that time. I live in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and South Paw doesn't sound familiar to me. Warsteiner is a good one, I haven't had it though for awhile. I haven't seen it in cans here yet, that's interesting to know. Thanks for the comment, and info Enoch, have a great Wednesday
@@JerryForttheBeerReviewGuy Hamm's was one of my favorites about a year or 2 ago but I got tired of the inconsistency. I guess it's the same for most cheap American Lagers like sometimes it's good and other times not so good... Aside from that I didn't even realize Wild Mike's has jerky. I've lived near one for 6.5 years and have always just driven past it. Most jerky is too high in sodium for me tho.
@@EnochDark You're right Enoch, but I say it pretty much the same way , Sometimes the cheaper Lagers are good, and sometime there not so good, or just lacking flavor. Oh, Wild Mikes in Oklahoma is a totally different Wild Mikes than what you're thinking about. Yeah, Jerky is a salty product, Thanks for the extra comment Enoch, have a great Thursday
At the Genesee Brewery, the head brewer told me that they freeze the beers, then force them through a filter, which catches the ice, which makes sense. I first tried this ice-brewed ale, in 1996. Well, have a great Spring Break, Jerry!
Ok, cool, that sounds lie an interesting process Jay. 1996, wow, Jeremy was in the process of being born then, and I was drinking more stuff like Moosehead, St. Pauli Girl, and Labatt's, and the occasional Corona. Thanks for the comment, and info Jay, and you have a great Spring Break also
man. i havent seen Icehouse in forever. i am back on the streets but i am at a campsite. $500 a week to live in a room isnt good enough here. they got a lady willing to pay $600 a week. so i had to leave. average 1 bedroom apt. here is $1600. and thats in the ghetto
Oh really, I see it now and then. Wow, you're staying at a Campsite? My folks brothers and I have stayed at many Campsites while traveling in our younger days, they could be pretty cool sometimes. A 1 bedroom APT for $ 500 -600 dollars a week, yeah, that seems a little steep for sure. When I left the property management I worked for in 2016 they were charging 1.700 for a 1 bedroom in there nicer apt units. If I remember correctly. Stay safe out there on the road Jim. Thanks for the comment buddy, have a great Wednesday
Thanks for doing the review. Of all the Ice Beers, and I have guzzled most of them, I do think Ichhouse leads the pack. It is a tad darker than most ice beers. It gives a nice lacing on the glass. I prefer Icehouse over Miller High Life, Pabst Blue Ribbon and Budweiser. By the way, Beer and Jerky make for a perfect snack any time of day or night 😁
You're very welcome, this is only half of your request, I still have to do the comparison Video (Miller High Life compared to Icehouse). It is a great quality one Jeffery, a very enjoyable Beer. I agree Jeffster, Jerky and Beer, go to together like Peanut Butter and Jelly goes together, and anytime of the day. Thanks for the comment buddy, have a great Wednesday
Ice brewed beer just uses a process of freezing the beer and scraping the ice off the top and making it more concentrated. Ice beers can be either a lager or ale.
Oh , ok , yeah, that sounds like what I was thinking of, or have heard before, Thanks Shane. Oh really, now that I haven't heard before, its nice to know, that Ice beers can be either Lager or Ale, Thanks for the comment, and info Shanegiggie, have a great Wednesday
Oh yeah dude, Icehouse is a great quality Beer. I’ll try my best, but you’re just watching for hem to fast, I can’t keep up, Lol, just kidding, Thanks for the comment, have a great evening
Good Jerky and a cold Ice Beer is like a mini vacation . Im going to the store to pick up both right now.
Yes sir, definitely enjoy that beer and jerky once you've attained some, Thanks for the comment Richard, have a great Tuesday

Icehouse, Milwaukee's Best Ice and the late Keystone Ice are the only ice brewed ales. All others are lagers.
