    Every movie set in the 70's is special and if it's horror, it increases fear. The pity I feel for this family further fuels my fear for them. It's a movie that doesn't roll up and delivers a lot of terror, strong and scary scenes.

    I like the Conjuring Universe movies, mostly because of the portrayal of the Warrens by Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson. I know the real-life Warrens are somewhat controversial with some believing them and others thinking they're frauds, and I won't go into personal opinions, but I like the movie versions of this couple, which are likely somewhat fictionalized anyway, whether you believe in the real Warrens or not.

    • @jlerrickson
      @jlerrickson ปีที่แล้ว

      Controversial is an understatement. Everything from fraud to abuse to sexual relations with a 15 year old girl; as much fun as the films from the Warren paranormal universe are, I take the "true events" claim with a truckload of salt.

      @@claudemanemorgan2588 Annabelle Creation was really good. One of the better horror movies I’ve seen in a while. Tons of tension and good scares. The first Conjuring is tops for me because of how well it’s made with the acting and cinematography, both things not usually done well in a lot of horror movies. The first Conjurjng’s story is a fascinating one, with the true story it’s based on is terrifying and amazing all in one. It’s actually scarier then the movie is. • @blueroninstudios
    @blueroninstudios ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I like the fresh approach taken with this movie, it doesnt so much focus on the possession alone it focuses on the plight of the family being disrupted by the witch and her supernatural influence, it focuses on the Warrens and how devout they are in their faith, how they were really nice people, and how much Ed and Lorraine really loved eachother. Their relationship is really what makes the other Conjuring films work, also James Wan's EXPERT LEVEL direction, tension-building suspense and wild cinematography!
    There were reports that some people who met the real Ed and Lorraine said they were money hungry, but I don't believe that for a second, because of they were money hungry, they probably would have been richer than some televangelist, but I looked up the house they used to live in where they raised their daughter Judy and it's a very small quaint piece of property that I think they settled for a long time. They did have a few movie deals during the decades as parnaormal consultants where the studios paid them, but I think they mostly used it to get by on paying bills, maybe putting Judy through college, things like that, I don't think they were greedy lecherous people at all, otherwise they would have been portrayed VERY negatively by a lot more people they knew and had interactions with.
    Until this movie, Lorraine Warren hadn't liked some of the portrayals of her and Ed, but the attention to detail by the writers really showcased how much they loved eachother through their careers of trying to help people, actually putting their faith ina higher power to good use.
    James Wan, the director of the film asked her "So how do you feel about the film?" Lorraine smiled with tear of joy in here eyes, "They got my Eddie."
    I'm no longer a Christian, but I definitely consider Ed and Lorraine to be the types of Christians that were a good example of how much good you can really do when you're motivated by people and not money.
    Also, a word of real advice: do NOT......I repeat .....DO. NOT. MESS. WITH. OUJI. BOARDS. PERIOD!

And that makes sense, but when you hear the actual family that this happened to talk about it they said their paranormal experiences often happened in what they said was almost like a bubble. No matter how hard they tried or how loud the experience was, no one ever woke up. They said it got to the point where the sisters would have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night in pairs so they were never alone.

    17:18 I believe in this stuff. My aunt has what we call "open body" (I don't know the real translation) but it means she's more susceptible and vulnerable to basically entities like spirits and stuff... She said one of my uncles who passed away asked her to tell the family to light candles at the cemitery. This uncle of mine died in a tragic accident and they say people who die from unnatural causes can't get into heaven or something and become lost if there are no candles. It's stuff that's very difficult to believe unless you experience it. My grandfather had many stories he used to tell... 2 years ago something happened to my father when my mom brought a wooden utensil that belonged to my deceased grandmother. When he came in contact with the object my dad freaked out and started talking nonsense... We burnt the thing immediately. There is more to the story but I don't want to go into details. It's pretty wild.

    So I just wanted to clear some things up about Bathsheba because Lorraine Warren not only got her story wrong, but blamed her for the whole haunting. This was all told by Andrea Perron who wrote a book about her family’s time living there. So first thing….the actual house itself, doesn’t look anything like the one in the movie….it is 2 stories but the one in the movie was a soundstage and there was no pond out back just a little bit of land, followed by a forest. Now, the actual story of Bathsheba….there’s no real evidence of her being a witch, or even being related to a witch. She and Jedson also had a daughter together and they’re all buried in a cemetery near the property “The Old Arnold Estate” but unfortunately due to the movie, Bathsheba’s grave was destroyed many times. As for the actual hauntings…..there were several, the most known to the Perron family were 7 dead soldiers that walked around the land, and a woman with a broken neck. Now the actual house does have a basement but it’s much larger than the one in the movie and it could double as a room to hold a small party, especially since it had a small room to…..In that small room, there’s a cabinet and in the cabinet one of the kids drew a picture of a woman with a broken neck. Going back to Bathsheba, the timeline of her life and connecting it to the Old Arnold Estate…..she wouldn’t have been alive during the alleged times that she “sacrificed her newborn” and “hung herself.” I think Lorraine just needed someone to blame the haunting on. As for her and Ed, they actually made things worse because the exorcism never happened it was a seance, but the seance went wrong because Carolyn started being harmed in a way where they thought she was dead, so Roger kicked them out….plus they had showed up with a camera crew uninvited. So although the hauntings did happened…..they didn’t happen the way Lorraine told it.

    Wait. Is this a Re-upload?? I swear I already watched you react to this. Or do I just THINK I remember watching you react to this because you’re already watching the Annabelle movies?? Which clearly came out after this one.

    This movie was awesome to watch but I don't believe ANY of this really happened. Even if some lady cursed the land, etc. etc. I don't think anything ended up happening. Just like aliens...I gotta see it myself. Hopefully I never do haha

    Exorcism of Emily Rose, please! Also based on a real, controversial case (not the Warrens). Only difference is that the film doesn't shy away from the controversy. It also managed to scare the shit out of me, regardless if you believe the possession was "real": what happened to that girl was terrifying. Definitely achieved gold standard for possession films.

    Lol to point on your comments about them not making noise and you're saying you'd do all this but you 2ouldnt know till you experience it and me and on my nephew went through some crazy crap like this for months. And we never ran or went around waking everybody up but we did tell everyone during the next days after stuff happened. But anyway it got to the point to where they had a priest come and bless the place and it stopped after that

      That was intentional. A lot of times what you don't see is scarier then what you do. Especially when partnered with great acting from that young actress really selling her terror.

    I swear You remind me of a guy friend I knew that wanted to go on a date but I said no because he was my ex fiancées best friend /foster uncle and it hurt his feelings so he don’t talk to me no more but the good vibes and kind soul you have reminds me of him I miss his dorky funny handsome self but I don’t miss the flirting other than that he was a cool dude you remind me of him just minus the bad parts. Anyway sorry for rambling yeah The blindfold hide and seek is the original way to play that game but because spirits usually like that game it’s easier from them to connect when your blindfolded and lights are off someone changed it to just regular hide and seek without the blindfold and lights on so spirits can’t play as easy also Ed and Lauren are the sweetest I got to meet them before they died I was super little but I remember there warmth they were such genuine sweet loving well spoken people I was 6 Ed died 1 month after I met them only reason I got to meet them is because my God mom RIH she was friends with them and because I’m gifted she thought I would love to meet them and she was right I was so happy they did warn me about my dad and ended up being right about him but I didn’t understand at the time what they meant now I do and I’m trying to get away from him but it’s hard when I live with the guy. Yes I believe in supernatural stuff and so much stuff that ppl have no idea about and think is a joke also because of me being Native American I get into my spiritual side a lot and I usually don’t say anything so I don’t offend ppl so I’m not but I will say these movies are the best and I got to see it before the movie was chopped up into a hour I watched 2 to like 3 hours and it scared me shitless I was like thank God they didn’t put that shit in it otherwise ppl wouldn’t be able to sleep for 2 to 3 days like me anyway phenomenal reaction as always keep up the great work❤

    I've always enjoyed the movies the Warrens were apart of but I can't get over that they are charlottans and used people for their own personal gain while trying to act so altruistic. Every case they've been apart of most of the people say they were phonies, nevertheless they make for interesting movies. JMO
