    Kirstie, a safe neighborhood isn't necessarily about people attacking you personally. It's also about people vandalizing your property, breaking in and robbing you, or doing drugs in your doorway, peeing in your doorway, soliciting for sex or selling drugs on your street corner. You can be a HUGE guy, and still come home to find your house has been burgled, vandalized and taken over by squatters while you were away for a week.

    Enjoyable flat/house hunt in the East End from 2015 - I find it surprising First Time Buyers are thinking of nabbing something to grow into, rather than looking at it as getting a good toe hold on the property ladder. So much can change in 4 or 5-years when you are starting out.

    same here: the quintessential" cute/wild cottage garden adds way more to quality of life than a little bit more house sq footage: a true little paradise for some smart buyer.... plus, i thought the upper living room sloping attic roof a bit confining [still, they are happy, that's all that counts i guess].

    I loved these buyers. The ladies are so adorable and the guys are great. I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. While I understand that buyers are picky because they are spending a LOT of their hard-earned money, sometimes I think they can be unreasonable in their expectations vs the reality of the market. These buyers were both realistic and had reasonable expectations. I would love to live in England. I'm in the U.S. and have felt drawn to England my entire life. I know the housing prices are crazy tho. I'm in Ohio and we bought a 3,200 sq ft home on 2.5 acres of land for $292,000 in 2018. But as I get older and the kids are leaving the idea of downsizing is so attractive. It's so much house and yard to maintain. My dream would be to retire to the U.K.

    The house for Mike and Jamie works out perfectly, as the loft can be used to store the 160 pairs of sneakers. This being said, I hope Mike starts thinking of the future and investing his money more wisely than on pairs of blobby rubbery shoes that look just about the same as any other pair of blobby rubbery shoes. That is hardly something that will increase in value, quite the opposite; these shoes lose 75 percent of their worth the moment they leave the store, and for what? Even a car would not depreciate as massively. But his money, his choice.
    All the homes shown to Katie and Victoria were beautiful, including the one they chose in spite of their initial reservations. I'm sure they will be happy there.
    I wonder how it feels living in an upside-down flat, but ultimately it can't be much more inconvenient than living in an above-ground flat; I'm thinking carrying groceries in and the like. The space they are getting easily overcomes any potential drawback, in my opinion.

      @lysem4392 I don't know about in England but here in the United States certain sneakers actually increases in value. There's a huge market for retro NIKE sneakers and people pay a lot for them. The only obstacle might be his shoe size.

    • @lysem4392
      @lysem4392 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@patricksmith2274 I believe you 100 percent. If something exists, somebody somewhere collects it. I wouldn't pay one buck for something like that, but the same applies to the things I value; they are worth nothing to most everybody else.
      This being said, I get a sense Mike is a compulsive buyer rather than a collector. I'll put in a wild guess he has spent $15k or more on his shoes (I don't even know how much these things cost). Could he easily recoup this money if he doesn't have any of the desirable vintage ones? Would he even be willing to part with any of his shoes?
