silver bayonet seems like an interesting game. having one roll for both attack and damage seems like a cool way to simplify a game without really sacrificing anything.
I like the move to a somewhat later Mexican setting better than the European default, although maybe supplementing the monsters list with some more Central American options might help pull that off even better, stepping farther away from Euro-Gothic horror even if it's just name changes to existing things from the book. Nahuals would be a marginal fit for werewolf stats (maybe change the allergy?), as well as the vampire-like Tlahuelpuchi and ghostly La Llorona. Better yet, make new homebrew stats for them and write scenarios around the local supernaturals. Lot of Spanish mythology is also present, so critters from there could be used in both Europe/Iberian and Mexican settings.
