I hope they pave the U.K. in gold. Planning permission i have tried many times to gain planning to build a lovely house in keeping with the local village on my plot on my land. It’s just out the village speed limit signs but no joy from the local council, 4 applications and thousands spent but the idiots in the planning use all sorts of excuses to deny me planning. One particular pearl of wisdom from these idiots is , I am not on a bus route and you would need to the local town in a car !! I really do hope that my council will be told to build build build, it creates wealth and homes. Full stop
Keep your word we are watching and waiting and don’t forget the people gave you this opportunity to steer the ship and put us on a prosperous path towards prosperity good luck
we all know what the score is, those with massive house values in rural communities want to keep their status. in my town we have no choice but to lose not so green, green belt. where do they think their kids will move to once grown up? its short sighted as they need homes too!
Buildings in the UK cover less land than when the tides go out. The UK National Ecosystem Assessment, external (NEA), for example, estimates that less than 1% of the country is "built on". But let's not these facts put off the usual NIMBY's and Reform nutters.
It's a tribute to the enduring power of shibboleths in contemporary politics that 'austerity' triggers a whole gamut of old leftie anathema responses while the de facto austerity Net Zero would inevitably entail is simply nodded through by the same people without so much as a murmur of concern (let alone dissent). It's almost as tho' political discourse has been captured by tribal semantics.....
@@shaun906 We need a full northern railways modernisation plan. First goal should be to overhead electrify in absolutely every feasible place, upgrade to make the reast feasible, then rail expansion. And this is coming from a southerner who isn't affected daily by the Victorian nightmare!
@TheGregcellent we appreciate the solidarity, we've all practically stood still, as most of the upgrades south were planned well over a decade ago. we need to build up the railways and then build the communities around it. that plan takes up 1.5% of the green belt. we just can't afford big projects anymore.

So what is your wonderful idea to increase the housing stock? Skyscraper blocks? Caves? Please explain, in detail how your children will find somewhere to live?
@lenholloway4390 The thing Is. The housing is being increased for the wrong reasons. Let's see how many real home grown british families get those homes. If they ever get built
A return to Keynesian economics i hope. Enough of the greed of neo liberalism
At last, grown-ups in charge.
Thank God for a Labour Party
And thank God for women 'who get the job done !!

Right ✅️ planing reform a must, greedlock london needs to move..
No summer recess.
It's a national emergency.
Tories have left the UK in a disastrous state.
I guess she said at first: I found the cash-box to be empty.
Charisma personified
Also glad that responsible adults are back in charge instead of the venal disaster capitalists we've had for the last fourteen years.
Responsible adults, No, treasonous nutters
❤
Hope the local authorities are listening whilst working from home. I've been trying get Council permission and the next meeting is not until November!
Try getting an EHCP for child with special needs, then you’ll know what a weight is! 12 of never!

Sounds like they have taken a leaf out of the Brown and Blair book. Fiscal rules, open for business … all sounds familiar

Expand heathrow, roads, Stratford lights building etc. It will create jobs and investment
while in the north, we're still in 1980's trains, not electrified, with roads that look like the moon. plus no proper rail links between some cities.
