      It always blows me away how musicians can do this. Love gigs like these because it really shows their level of expertise.

      Yea, i know what that is, i play guitar too, but i just said it sounded very good regarding the fact that they played it for the first time together.

      not to make an argument but this is a I-IV-VI-V which works in a slightly different way...I doesn't stay the same number of bars on the degrees like the I-IV-V....this is why Joe had to cue the band over the first couple of changes .

      I think it's actually a II-V-I, don't hear the VI.
      Anyway, being a good sounding band is more than just knowing the chords.

      Alvin Samson the original BB King version and the Bonamassa album version are I-IV-II-V but here Joe clearly resolves this progression with a VI7-V7.
      The progression you are talking about (ii-V-I) is a jazz progression that doesn't really fit a 12 bar blues

    Teaching the band the progression on the fly... rarely works... best to just go and say... “follow me”.

      When you got pros like Rick a 20 second talk is all you need. The band & joe already knew the tune. Saw a clip of Jack Bruce teaching Rory Gallagher the lines from Politician on the way to the stage , by the time they hit the stage Rory was all over it with no problems.

      @@stephanjones743 I think he was making a crude joke in regard to Rick getting it "handed it to him" by Joe....it ain't a competition, but it appears that he thinks so!?

    • @paullevine1813
      @paullevine1813 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ideath, Seems you don't get the fact Ricks been playing guitar long before Joe & once joe gives him the pattern Ricks got it & so do the band . WTF is the reason you think Rick needs any help here .
