you gotta listen josh play his tele man find him on you tube!! he is a killer damn!! he goes out of pentatonic, he mix on jazzy line, country finger picking style and god know what else!!!
I didn’t even know there was a blues cruise... heard of Monsters of Rock cruise... No disrespect to the MOR cruise , but this is real talent right here .. if I ever hit the lottery this will be my first cruise ✊🏼☮️🎸💟
JB keeps saying this song was written by Joe Sample, but it wasn't. These great lyrics were penned by Will Jennings, over a 12-bar blues provided by Stix Hooper, who was a member of The Crusaders. Jennings also wrote many, many tunes for Steve Winwood. He's won a grammy and an Oscar. Here's the real story of this song. Songfacts®: Stix Hooper, who was the drummer in The Crusaders, wrote this with lyricist Will Jennings. Says Jennings: "It's a story song. I think B.B. had been talking about his adventures on the road, and all the romantic difficulties that are involved in being on the road. The original title's Never Make A Move Too Soon, and some people put it out as Never Make Your Move Too Soon. Sticks just sent me a rhythm track, which is basically 12-bar blues. I was in California in '77, and I just started thinking about B.B. and what he'd been talking about, so I just basically sang over the rhythm track and more or less a talking/singing sort of a thing. Bonnie Raitt cut it on her Road Tested - her live album, with Charles Brown and Ruth Brown, and B.B.'s got it on his 80th Anniversary album, singing it with Roger Daltrey. Even people like Captain & Tennille, Toni Tennille sang it." The song is one of my favorites and I think the best version is by Ernestine Anderson on a CD titled Live at the Concord Jazz Festival-1990. It's a long version where she spins it into a really good story.
Well: we finally get to see (and hear) Ms. Sinead Burgess, aka Ms Joe Bonamassa. What did Rod Stewart sing ? "Some guys have all the luck" ? ;-) Singing the blues is certainly the toughest composition role JB can play... !! But he manages alright :) Special mention to Davy Knowles, Kirk Fletcher and Josh Smith: these guys' modesty only equals the level of their skills 👍
Great work Natasha. I really like the way you capture the reaction Josh Smith shows when Davy Knowles finishes his stuff. These are your best quality videos I've seen, plus the audio quality shines.
Great show as expected and great Video, thank you. There are times in these shows I wish Paul Shaffer had an off switch. At times he is just too much talking and trying to direct traffic. Thumbs up and Sub'd up
Im wondering if Paul has ever attended an open blues jam. his approach is a bit of a frosh/Soph high school mixer approach. Surprised he didnt hand out stick on name tags.
Paul Shaffer and the pointy finger, Josh's look, I can only imagine what was going through his had when he pointed it at Josh. Shaffer is so bloody annoying.

josh
Joe looks kinda like Rick Nielsen in that outfit and cap.
Kirk
whoopie
Josh has some of the best riffs I ever heard. But wish Joe would invite Greg Koch onboard. Maybe joe is worried Greg will out play him, again...😉
I'd love to see Greg on board as well.
1AnitrasDance Yea and Matt Schofield
Cameron Walsh -Matt said he is now completing his new album.
Naw Joe ain’t afraid of Greg, why would he be?
Impressive as h3ll!
Is Joe using different amps for the cruise?
He is using his new signature fender tweeds
written by none other than Stix Hooper, drummer for the Crusaders. I personally like Bonnie Raitt's version
I'm going to get motivated and go see sammy fish... Do you all agree?
Yes, the great miss Fish is incredible 😉
So....these gents invite you up to play.......the guitar you choose is a .............?
Cowbell
1988 Fender Stratocaster Eric Clapton signature model.
When did Paul Schaeffer become Ed Sullivan?
Paul Shaffer and the pointy finger, Josh's look, I can only imagine what was going through his had when he pointed it at Josh. Shaffer is so bloody annoying.
😪😪😪😪😪😪😪
Guy sitting next to me said it sounds like a big masturbation contest. I think that is just a terrible thing to say.
All them played the exact same solo.
Wrong, dead wrong on the Joe Sample credit ................... pardon the terrible pun ................ RIP Joe, you were a great one on the keys
