In the video all the beams are already cast and done. The casting of the beams are done before the slab work. If what you are about to do is the concrete slab roof then the breakdown is as follow. From the bottom, the boards that are supported by the laths nailed to the wall and the shores are laid 3 feet apart. The boards on top are 14 inches apart. Please bear in mind that you have to consider the total height of each layer in relation to where the roof will meet the vertical walls. If there is no misunderstanding, feel free to let me know.

The standard height from ground level is 10 feet the height of the lintel and the belting is roughly 3 feet. Let say your lintel is 1 foot, then your belting would be 2 feet and then the roof.
