I wonder, what if, let's try (Sesame Street) creating micro-hubs of garden shops who mix their own soils for resale, support the advantage with soil tests, and hook consumers by the amazing results the garden shop has to offer in the way of better looking plants using their blended soil.

@@RedbudSoilCompany thought it was a great breakdown on how to make your own living soil from scratch, that literally anyone could do and could get those ingredients anywhere. Those of us that are a little lazier lol would usually go to companies like you guys. But nothing like getting your hands dirty and making your own soil.
I need to find a good worm casting company that ships large amounts at a good price and warms feed good material to make them all the places I found feed the worms garbage inputs or they have no idea what they feed them and I got another 2 years before my 200 smart pot bin is done I use a lot of leaf mold and volcanic rock dust in my bins
I don't know why people keep making this mix. It's very outdated. It Was fire over a decade ago when everyone got their info from forums and we didn't test anything because we were scared to go to jail. 🤷♂️
Is the chunky biochar inoculated? If so, with what? If not, do you worry about it absorbing too much from the mix as it saturates? Also, I'm guessing you did not add water before recommending a soil test. Will watering, then mixing, before soil testing change the results of the test?
We did not inoculate this biochar. We do have activated biochar, but I've never had any issues, and under a scope all is well with using non-inoculated biochar. We personally test right after mixing. Wetting it wouldn't change the nutrients right away. It could bring more microbes to life though and that could change a biological assessment.
@@RedbudSoilCompany Good stuff, but adding water is the very next step to growing. Why would you not want to see the soil test results of a completed process that is ready to grow, lacking a test? I'm missing something?
I would be concerned with it becoming anaerobic by the time it got to the lab. You can surely do that though. May not be an issue, and we could just be paranoid.

Just got testing result back from y’all on a “coots mix” I recently made with local inputs and was waaaaaaay off target.

I forgot to add, the test we do, is a mild acid extraction, so we aren't as concerned with the nutrients being already soluble.

In the video we tell you we give free recommendations with every soil test. Not pointless at all.
