It's so sad but kinda funny that matpat went through all this time to put out this final part only to have the ruin dlc completely destroy his theory

It actually did not. There's enough evidence that the Mimic is not Afton/Burntrap for all this to still be fine. The only major revelation is that there's an entrance to Circus Baby's also connected to the Mega Pizzaplex. Which just means the FNAF 6 location and Afton's House and Circus Baby's were all built atop one another, and then later the Mega Pizzaplex was built atop them (like Poltergeist). The Blob snatching up Afton caused the further collapse of the sinkhole, destroying the Mega Pizzaplex and freeing the Mimic from whatever was trapping it beforehand, except for that pesky concrete wall (which was either built before or after the collapse) and security system. Security Breach had some kinda weird amalgamation ending, as evidenced by Princess Quest being beaten and Vanny free, but also seeing the Blob's tendrils coiling around the building (and even a scene where it is watching Cassie).
Most of this ultimate timeline is still fine; it just needs a bit of an addendum.
Ruin basically destroys everything regardless. (Don’t get me wrong I loved Ruin, but it really threw so many wrenches into the work.)

For sake of clarity before the waves of comments; No this theory isn’t debunked, there’s just no ground for it being wrong or right. This being the CEO part, there’s no answer, and because there’s no answer anyone can fit.
Matpats explanation is a very good narrative, but it could just as easily be a reckless money hungry dude we never learn about. Essentially it’s just a nice head cannon that you can like or dislike.
I 100% agree it may not be Misses Afton doing this stupidity but yeah almost everything other than William needing to be bought out as it was later shown to be Henry who was bought out was pretty much how I could see things going down

I wouldn't say it's a reckless money-hungry dude, the person behind this all has a plan of course, those special upgrades for the animatronics that make them crazy? Putting in Vanessa at the Pizzaplex even though she has no qualifications? Someone is pulling strings for motivations more than just making money. And if the guide regularly brings up and questions 'Who's in charge here?', then it's not just gonna be some random rich guy.
The thing people don't really give matpat credit for is he's not trying to say this is the exact thing that happened and it's the bonafide truth. He's trying to make a sensible timeline of a story that honestly should've ended a long time ago when it was still somewhat reasonable, with the scattered info we had at the time.
I think you just summed up FNAF lore in a nutshell.

I think this is what people who hate him or his content just don’t get. I think they’re taking his theories as claims of fact, they take them too seriously. When in reality, they’re basically just a fun little writing exercise or (more rarely nowadays, at least on the main channel) a cool way to teach a loosely related science/history lesson.

The hate mostly stems from people who never understood the definition of a theory or fanfic authors
Matt's theory was really good for the information he had at the time. Later collaborations had him rethink a few things and the Ruin DLC ended up throwing a wrench in the theory so he had to rework it. He later posted an updated version of the theory that better fit the new information that he had.
I feel bad for the hate Matpat gets over this video because Its like you guys said, the lore is constantly changing and the hardcore fans tend to forget that. At the time the video released, his theory was pretty well done, but then the Ruins DLC released that tore aprt this theory
Honestly, you should see all of MatPats FNAF theories from the beginning.
While they may not be accurate anymore, it’s really enjoyable to see his theories and the FNAF lore evolve over the years.
People who hate MatPat's videos are the ones that are WAY too invested into whatever he's covering and take it WAY too seriously.
Not really, the reason I was still watching his lore summaries lately was because he talks abotu the stuff I don't interact with. I just don`t like how much of his latest stuff goes into just drama narrative at some points or, well, up his own ass. He does a lot of convenient conclusions that ignore other facts. Thats now how the word theory works, all of the present things have to fit. Like this timeline is legit a good bit of content IMO, but if you look at it as a theory, then even from the things presented in the prior, more accepted parts something doesn't work. If William Afton took apart the animatronics from the missing children's incident and Michael is the guard from FNAF 1 after that, then what are those animatronics he's dealing with? The OG ones had their living metal taken away and the business was closed, the bits from the sealed rooms were "not to be taken out" where did those extra killer animatronics come from?
That, and when people try to play "he's just some guy making a theories" card, because he's not. GameTheory is huge, its output impacts how people see things, but also - that's a business. With employees and projects and merch and questionable marketing deals for sketchy finance apps.
@@demilungyeah and he literally talks about the conflicts of his timeline or did you just skip that? The issue is that Scott Cawthon had no plan for the lore and a lot of it conflicts and doesn’t line up. When putting together something definitive you have to make final decisions like placing the events where he does.
And of course the “it’s just a theory” card works. Just because a lot of the fandom takes a lot of Matpat’s theories as holy writ does not mean they are true or that he has some sort of responsibility to the fandom to be right. Especially when his theories have changed and evolve all the time. Who doesn’t do sketchy ads, his team easily could have been misinformed. No one would be doing Raid Shadow Legends ads otherwise.

3:05 the people immediately related to it might not forget but everyone else may either forget or might not know the specifics as there are a few events in real life like the flint water crisis which a lot of people forgot about outside of Michigan which was an event in which a lot of people of all ages had severe lead poisoning

Remember in the VR game we got a teaser of Vanny in the form of a bunny mask? I just realized recently that in the VR game when we hear about Jeremy slicing off his face it was because he was trying to get the bunny mask off. Aftons consciousness made him think he was still wearing it.
It’s a great theory that immediately got ruined by the book that released and then the dlc. However it’s still a good story and not everything was wrong but it’s just unfortunate for him.

The evidences on the gregory is a robot are alot but the fanbase aint buying it because its not confirmed. Most of the fanbase hates this 4th part of his theory hahah
yeah its dumb they see evidence that doesn't support their theory and push it away when it's legit put in by the devs people need to realize FNAF is going crazy hell people are already upset at the movie as they thought it would be just like the game universe but forget Scott has made multiple Side universes already with the Silver Eye's Universe The Fazbears Frights Universe The Game Universe The Tales from the Pizzaplex Universe and the Movie Universe not everything is gonna be 1-1 and people keep thinking the tales books are 100% canon when Scott himself flatout said they weren't
The reason Mattpatt gets a lot of heat about his videos is because people are just too passionate/desperate/toxic about their favorite thing, pick whichever term you think best applies. Just think of them as the same guys who try to backseat play your game, constantly telling you what to do, how to do it, and give you lip for "making the wrong choice."

Honestly, solid theory for what we had at the time. And people who hate on it and try to direct people away from watching it: Why don't you just recommend another theorist. It's always better to watch more views/takes on such a complicated story than just one you deem correct. Matpat is usually what introduces people to FNaF Lore (and rightfully so. Man knows how to pull in an audience), but afterwards, the doors are open for other FNaF theorists.
I need to remind everyone that scott cawthon came up with the idea of sexy robot ballerinas before mundfish entertainment. Although I like to imagine william afton was doing the same thing with ballora as the soviet elite were doing with the ballerinas in atomic heart.
Although both robot ballerinas are very attractive and probably being used for adult entertainment, only ballora can canonically have a kid put inside of her.

People get on Matpat's ass because they think his vidoes are supposed to be "him deciding what is 100% going on in whatever he's talking about" instead of it being a theory. Like it says in the damn channel name...
So he does something like make a video on if Mario is a sociopath. Finds a bunch of out of context stuff from games and jokes around about him actually being a sociopath. The video goes out and an alarmingly large number of people take it as "HE'S RUINING MY CHILDHOOD GRRR! THERES NO WAY MIYAAMOTO ACTUALLY DESIGNED MARIO TO BE EVIL YOUR WRONG MATTHEW PATTHEW"
People get mad at matpats theories because they take them too seriously. Theyre only ever meant to be theories with the bits of information we're given. And theories will be changed with new info

However my theory that would fix an issue is, I think the mom has a partner. Someone with alot of money who is ambitious.
I think the mom goal is as MatPat said.
But think the partner is trying to prevent William Afton, and take over the franchise.
I think the new animatronics embodies them.

My only problem with the timeline is the puppet was barely mentioned at all, which feels like a big problem, even having it skimmed in Pizzeria Simulator...one of the major 3 animatronics just barely mentioned at all. That felt wrong really.

She could be actually one of Afton daughters or like Matpat alludes here - a replacement. Either robotic or psychological.
I acctually did some math. So if William was a small child in the 30s, then in 2023 he would be in his 70s. 70 + 10 = 80s.
I will Say this was interesting set of Ideas. Games did not go this way but hey I can say it was well constructed story.

Note that the whole Gregory robot theory is really hated for some reason even though the books have made it clear that robots that can eat and bleed like regular people are very much a thing in FNAF.

We all know MatPat from Game theory and John from FuhNaff this two are mostly closer. But we also know Scott himself, even though he publishes more books and more games are coming out, like many other authors and creators of franchises, sagas and series.

I think Gregory is a robot but he as a split personality because his soul was in golden Freddy with Cassidy so deep down a part of Cassidy's hate takes over.

@Aliciaxlife the puppet is Henry's daughter, golden Freddy is aftons youngest son and aftons most violent kill, baby is aftons daughter and she became obsessed with afton and a true daddy's girl. The mom just left she only showed in one mini game in sister location, balllora is just made in the image of the mom from aftons perspective. Everyone died in the fire with Henry, and I mean everyone, baby, Henry, aftons, everyone one. Afton only survived because of the circuit board.
I have an issue with the logistics of Fnaf AR being a kidnapping ring since I’m pretty sure there’d be plenty of parents reporting kids missing after ordering a frebble fazbur for their kid’s party. Unless there’s some other way to collect remnant without killing kids wholesale.
More or less think it as covert harvesting of remanent through passively taking in positive remanent, rather than gathering it wholesale through murder-kidnappings for negative remanent.
matpat forgets to mention this in this video but in the books there are different types of remnant (since it's just caused by strong emotions, agony is just the strongest and easiest to work with)
so i think the idea is all these robots are going out and collecting other harmless types of remnant (that arent as potent as the dead kids kind, but with enough of it that it wouldnt matter)

I would like to point out to everyone who's saying that matpat is dumb and wrong that Scott openly admitted just recently, that he actively did everything he could to make Matt's theories wrong enough to make him still want to do them, but not get them right. Unironically admitted to the fact that there were parts that Matt got right and so he changed so that he wouldn't be right about them.
IMO, fnaf lore is just fragments of a once completed story that was torn apart and “put back together”. It shouldn’t have made sense in the first place cuz tbh it’s just a bunch of random ideas going in too many directions😂

Absolutely love Mattpatts theory but one thing that doesn't make sense are the ages, in 2035 Clara would be in her late 70's to early 80's at the youngest and Elizabeth would be in her late 50's not a young woman since her and her brothers would have been born in the 60's and 70's for them to be so young in the 80's

Perfect Movie/Game: Alien Isolation, Detroid become Human, Until Dawn, Vader Immortal VR, Jedi Fallen order and Jedi Survivor.
Arcane/League of Legends 3 Books, all charakters Stories with 20 comics is around 25 books.
Fnaf is here 9 years it has 25 books, 14 games and This year is year of Fnaf.

I think you're giving people too much credit when it comes to remembering atrocities. There's likely been as many missing children this week that the worlds just forgotten about, and Fazbears wasn't that big of a corporation. It's not like if Amazon suddenly had murder cases involved.
Also, if something can make your life more convenient you're likely to ignore red flags. A stressed mother might gladly welcome an animatronic to take care of a stressful birthday event if it lets her relax for a day.

People who get mad at MatPat's theories simply do not understand the purpose of a theory. MatPat tries to piece together the information he has gathered and is open to the possibilities of being right or wrong. He often emphasizes that it's just a theory, a game theory. People should look up the definition of "theory" to understand its meaning, as theories are fundamental in science. The confusion between "theory" and "headcanon" seems to be causing unnecessary criticism.

This is Matts interpretation, which isnt bad, but far from the most satisfying one, specially now that Ruin is out
something else to understand is that while this Ultimate Timeline is a comprehensive form of events as GT belives they happened, is not really going in depth as how they arrived those conclusions, since this theory makes a bit more sense if you go deep into many other theories that go inside them more and also knowledge of the books
since this theory many other theories by other members of the community have come to give other interpretations to many points Matt raised, and they are, in my opinion, more satisfying, and also thanks to Ruin, most of this part gets in shambles (the latter half specifically)
now, another good video for a different time line reference, that feels a bit more cohesive in my opinion, and its only 1 video, is IDFantasy ones, there are also some FurNafs (or however youo write his name, never remember correctly) that give a better stepping foot to Security Breach and RUIN
Edit: there is a video response Matt did to the negative response of his theory videos, which I actually feel is pedantic, yes he has a nugget of truth in it, but its extreamly loopsided, essentially its saying the reason many dislike them is because they way we persive information, they are categorised as S (Senses) or N (iNfered), that essentially boils down to, do you take the information at face value or not, saying he is N and is trying to find extra meaning to the words said while most are S and thus cannot see it
here is the problem, while I do agree that an S mentality box you into preconsived notions, being too N makes you no different than a helium ballon floating way past its intended mark, it cant be one or the other, it has to be a balance of both, and by saying that is the reason he too should admit his folly

Sometimes Matpat's theories are really dumb, this is one of those times.
Just a little thing i would love to add about people saying people were “hating” on matpat’s part 4 of the timeline.
There were people who were for sure just hating to hate. But there was a ton of good criticism of this part. FNAF is a franchise that adds things to it that could change in the next installment.
But there were things in this part that just felt like it misrepresented help wanted and security breach. Personally as a fan of mat’s content and the fnaf franchise, it was pretty meh.
This is all to say that don’t think everyone who is giving their grievances about this part are “all haters!”. There was a lot of good critique to this part and I want outsiders to know this.

People angry at him for his takes forget two things. 1) He's working with several other people and putting together THEORIES, not all facts, based on available information. Naturally new information will throw wrenches in those. 2) Since long ago in his old videos he's been making game theories that completely contradict facts that are stated in games. That's why they're theories, sometimes the game's facts don't fit the narrative.
Go watch a different theorist instead of hating.
