What really gets me is that Homestar doesn't know the context of Bubs saying 296. So he didn't know that that was the number of bricks on one of his walls. He was just impressed by the sheer size of the number.
I just love how many of us have so been influenced by the residents of Freecountry, USA, that we've incorporated their phrases and mannerisms into our own.
I get that the video has only been out for about two hours by this time but I managed to read all the comments by the time Strong Sad appeared, anyway, I have now watched this at 0.25 speed.
Arguably my most favorite of the lot. I've legit been so bored when out with friends, we've fully reenacted this in our rooms down to the tiniest detail. Oh, the bonds that were forged over this sbemail on the laziest, mind-numbingest of summer sundays. "I remember learnin' that... in school!"
In all seriousness though, this is one of the best emails. I love how the Brothers Chaps can truly make anything funny, even if they make their toons as intentionally uninteresting as possible.
When SB said he was gonna take really tiny steps, I was like "Ok, I actually wanna see that. That sounds pretty funny." Strong Bad's steps did not disappoint.
I remember this being the first email I didn’t completely like. I think it was the fact I had to load the flash file for 10-something minutes to watch it, then I was given something paced about the same speed.
The Tape-Leg one was my personal least favorite. It just left me there saying: “Okay...? What’s the joke here? He’s got tape on his leg? How’s that funny?”
@PyroRock814 You're not alone. "Tape-Leg" is considered to be one of the worst sbemails by a significant number of fans. The Brothers Chaps seem to be aware of this, as it has been referenced and made fun of by them several times ("What, you think everybody's logging on to see 'tape-leg?" Yeah, that's a good one." - unusually sassy Homestar to Strong Bad).
Batman's Left Nostril Another one of my least favorites is ‘I Rule’. I mean, it’s cool that Strong Badia originated from this email, but the problem is, IT’S TOO SHORT! It’s only 45 seconds long and nothing really happens in it.
1:25 Fun Fact,Bubs was 16 bricks away from counting that entire wall..if you measure the bricks out that are visible you will see that the brick count is 11 across by 24 down which makes Bubs, strongbad and everyone else short ...the standard brick including mortar all around is approx. 3 1/4" height × 24 = which is 6 ft 6 inches. now think about how many times you've seen all of them at Bub's concession stand like now..there only a little over halfway up which means they are probably im n the area of 4 ft tall...now unless you take into account having some kind of basement..with the side wall dimensions being 7 1/3 '(the length of the average bricks with mortar are 8" multiply by 11) and the height being 6 1/2' that makes Bubs place pretty small width wise...which makes it impossible for him to sell the items he has sold in 130 emails at this point which also makes Bubs answer of 298 inaccurate..hows that for bordem....
You assume the bricks are a standard size, though. It's possible that Bubs' Concession Stand is crafted of bricks of different dimensions , which leads to a different number of bricks.
There was a $2000 question on Jeopardy tonight about a Danish physicist. I called out Niels Bohr and now my family thinks I'm a genius. ... ........ yeah it's actually because I'm a Homestar Runner nerd......
Yes! I'm so glad we finally have this one uploaded on the official channel in high quality. such a classic. i love the way they animate strong bad's head slowly moving.
I actually like the background music used here a lot. I love a lot of the instrumental soundtracks used in HSR and I wonder if the Bros C would ever consider releasing a bunch of their music samples, the ones that are really short could be extended like at least by a minute or so...I am sure people would enjoy it.
If you wanted to be *really* technical, you could justify that by presuming he is including homonyms: "Use" can be two different words, as in: _"Do you know how to use that?_ As opposed to: _"I have no use for that"_ The former is a verb, the latter a noun. Same spelling, different words. Same with "Man": it can mean an adult human male, or to operate something (as in _"Man the controls"_ ) Two different words ☺️
Huh, I didn't know there was such a person as Niels Bohr nor did I know he was danish AND a physicist. And they say you can't learn anything from cartoons, shows what you know DAD!
No you misunderstand. These "boring" practices, if practiced enough, may just be a way of healing physical ailments. I've been trying it lately. Results may very, but I've observed small, yet notable changes in my senses.

This one just has so many good lines
When I was a kid, I thought this was the last email. I actually thought the brothers ran out of ideas
I'm not entirely convinced that the Brother's chaps started running out of steam for the site.
But those are real emails from real people across the world
Still better than tape-leg. (which I do like, myself)

Strong Bad!

I've been saying "be's careful" ever since this email came out.
I have too, and I even forgot where I first heard it from until now.
Same here
Are you always be's do'sing that?
I'm saying it to a lot of people I see these days.
I don’t think you can enjoy this email and NOT say Be’s careful for the rest of your life.
This email has an unnecessarily fast paced email intro song for what it is.
agreed
Had to get to the good part
Is there anything more motivational than watching Homestar truly applying himself in the great quest for a blink?
Always be be'sing and do'sing, never cheesing or choosing.
@@HellecticMojo What the fuck does "cheesing" mean?
@@hamursh Outside of South Park, I have no idea.
The best part is you can easily imagine him doing the same thing in a normal-paced cartoon.

I hoped that they release the background music for this SBEmail. It's so calming.
I actually like the background music used here a lot. They did.
I want the noise homsar makes when he moves.
If I had that sound on demand I would never again be sad.
Sadly, this song doesn't seem to be in the tracks they've released. I'd totally love a playlist of all the really chill background music like this.
Coach Z stopped Strong Bad at 'job', but I'm surprised no one called him out on using 'man' and 'use' twice on his list.
If you wanted to be *really* technical, you could justify that by presuming he is including homonyms:
"Use" can be two different words, as in:
_"Do you know how to use that?_
As opposed to:
_"I have no use for that"_
The former is a verb, the latter a noun. Same spelling, different words.
Same with "Man": it can mean an adult human male, or to operate something (as in _"Man the controls"_ )

"It really is boring!" "We weren't faking the funk!"
I laugh at this one too much. Honestars blank happy expression, Strong Sad on caffeine again, and Homestar struggling to blink is comedy gold.
I constantly say "I remember learning that in school" thanks to this cartoon
I also say "more like _I_ see" a lot even though it never makes sense
The way he says "pie" at 4:24 sounds like he's dying for some pie
that tiny steps animation always cracks me up
