Played soft tip once in hong Kong while drunk , was defeated by someone who never picked up a dart before ! Immediately retired from soft tip game.. Great review mate , don't let the nutters get you down
Greta review. I don't know a lot around the rules of soft tip but noticed you had a couple of bounce outs and the score still registered. Is that within the rules or do you have to change that manually?
It's so funny to me that you think that, Darren. I always thought it was unfair that in steel tip a dart that hit its target but bounced out would NOT count. Nevermind "Robin hood" shots not counting. That's the equipment fucking up, not the player. One of the great advantages of soft top is that it records the accuracy of your throw even when the board or your own equipment fucks up through no fault of your own. I think you guys tend to think of soft tip as "fake steel tip", but if you view it as a game unto itself you'll find that it's a fine game and actually has some advantages over steel tip (disadvantages too!). I personally don't think either one is better, I like them both in different ways for different reasons 😎
Yeah that's a good point but the steel tip rules say it only scores if the point is touching the bed but guess that's the only way to know with steel tip. But to me soft tip can be good fun and in many ways its still darts just another version :)
Thanks mate! I have had a look in a few more boxes but not seen them I am beginning to think it may not have been Axis I had but the other one that I think Justin Pipe used, think it was Apex but not seen those either yet lol
Hi i know its been 5yrs since u reviewed this board..im thinking of getting one for £110..then theres the 3s but thats £250.. is the 3s alot better board features.. better made etc or is it just the fancy lights that makes it that price..so what im trying to say is the 3s board worth me paying £140 more for..???
@DartsReviewChannel thanks for quick reply..so u would say gran board dash is a good solid board for the price...also up to what gram dart can be used on soft tip boards...and what tips would u recommend Iv heard people say get decent tips not cheap ones they break easily ..sorry for all the questions..👍
@@waynebennett530 I never used soft tip boards much so I think others will know which tips will be better but usually the l-style ones are pretty good, weight I think should be best to be no more than 18g

I'm just trying to get best info before I take the plunge to buy one...👍
@waynebennett530 if you are planning to play a lot and long term then you are probably better getting the more expensive version but I think segments can be replaced if they fail on it
Thanks! I no longer have it but its a good board if you are into soft tip but I think the full Granboard is probably the better buy but if on a tighter budget the Dash is worth a go.
Not sure as only had the Dash, my guess is its just a better constructed board thats more robust, but it may have other features too that the Dash does not have such as the flashing coloured LEDs.
Hy, thanks for the review, I just got this dartboard for my xmas. Which darts would you recommend to buy to play on this ? The darts with the box are kind of cheap and only 9/10g, but I wouldn't want to destroy the board with some heavier darts. Thanks for your advice
Thanks for the review Darren, I liked the dash. Soft tip darts was good to get into when I was loosing interest in steel tip. The app animations were so old school - made me feel like I was back at the old ten pin bowling.
iam building a cabinet to box the gran 3s board. Will it be a good idea to use home depot foam cover with pool table felt to protect the darts from maybe bending or breaking when missing dart board? Right now I have that foam with pool table felt behind my bristle dartboard and it works very good and also looks good. However I don't know if I will be needing this for the soft tip darts?
@@DartsReviewChannel Sorry for my bad diction. My request is how many players can play one match against each other? So can you play for example a cricket match with 4, 6, 8, or maybe more people in offline mode?

Guess it depends on what you like, Gran Board still has one of the bigger online networks but the Nexus is growing and the Hi Darts probably is the best construction but the cost will vary from around £200 to £320 if I remember rightly.
I always liked GranBoards, this one looks nice and compact. Almost like this soft tip board I got from a Decathlon sports shop which was pretty flimsy at the similar dimensions. Great review Darren! Just a shame this board doesn't do well with heavy darts :/ I can't use them Beatons on it.
thank you I finally ordered the gran 3s board. I also ordered 3 viper 20g darts and 3 viper 18gr darts. Do you think the 20g will be to heavy for this board? With the bristle board that I have when we play we kindda throw soft since steel tip darts stick pretty good. Don't know how we will be throwing with the plastic board
Brilliant review Darren I don't like soft tip because I have never played soft tip I have always had steel tip with my same darts and I don't think I could play with another set or differant weight darts and plus you could get a few b5s or a b5dc for that price but great review though as always
Bought a Gran board dash a month ago and its a great board, but also a very noisy/loud board. it was too loud to use in my apartment, so I got a Gran board 3(GB3) today and what difference! its very quiet and build quality is better. But also about 3 times the price of the dash. They both use the same app. I hope you will do a review of GB3 some day. Thanks for a good channel and review :)

LOL not sure what that would be like playing it drunk with all those animations and noises lol!!! Cheers! :)
Would u suggest 16g darts to help stick to board better? Will the plastic tips break inside the holes?
probably best to not go heavier than 18g so 16g should be fine. All the tips break sometimes, its just how it is with soft tip darts.
Does it say what country it is manufactured in? I heard Japan but idk. Kind regards
