Now that I am retired and have the time and technology I am able now to learn the truth of what was hidden from me all these years. I am happy now to learn the truth and share my new found knowledge with my grand kids who are black. My learning will not stop here.

Im all in for the black cowboy, ive been seeing over the past months some of their trail rides (on youtube), it looks like alot of fun. However im all in, against black lives matter because ALL LIVES MATTER! Im a mexican american, and I see how hate along with the help of the media has stroked the flames of division, and for the most part it has worked on many people. In the military you get to meet people from different races and you quickly find there is good and bad in all of us. God (Jesus) has given all of us a chance to choose what road we want to take, at the end of both roads you will find the same thing, people of different nationalities. The difference will be the way you get to see and to live in eternity. Choose wisely the day is approaching quick but thru His mercy many will be given a second chance thru the tribulation. I believe thru that time many will realize it wasn't about hating each other. The choice all along was and is about choosing the one who told us to hate (satan) or the one that loves us all (JesusChrist)! I hope everyone reading this chooses wisely!

O.K. Very interesting....📚 Learning new things about my heritage all the time.
And ladies ( and gents), they be coming to Denver in January for the Nat'l Western Stock Show, with their poetry, skiing skills and nicely- filled jean's. ssssssszzzzling.
The black cowboys compete in rodeos all over the west. The rodeo in San Antonio had quite a few. How do I know that? Drank a few cold long neck beers with after they rode. Black, white, short, and not so tall were in the big ‘ol tent drink in’ beer.
We got lots of BCBs in Bama! I enjoy seeing them ride with pride. Horses are such beautiful animals. Growing those relationships are important.
This is a positive story.I just wish that more media houses show more positive black stories like this one.
My dad is from Mobile, AL so almost every year of my life (I’m 26) we always go back for Mardi Gras. Seeing local black young adults and kids on horses is always refreshing. I always look forward to seeing them every year!
Ah brilliant I love horses owned them all my life. Keep on trotting lad's.
That young lady taught by her sister gave me cold chills. Good for you young lady. I have to admit I've studied a lot of history, but this is a eye opener. Never realized and all the people had great smiles and happy.
when i moved to compton around 2008, it shocked me to see horses at the cross walks 😂 🤙🏽
Just beautiful.
I saw the story earlier this morning, came here to share it with others
Be sure to share this also

May God Continue to bless you all, & guide your efforts to uplift the roles of others in this world.
Watched a bass Reed documentary fascinating history he was some man for one man. 🐴🐎🐴
I read that he once arrested and brought in his own son for breaking the law. Now that was a Cop with honor and justice. Fine example for today, upholding the Law equally and fairly, no matter who the offender was.
This is so wonderful to see..I always loved me some cowboy movies, 🐎 and boots.
NOW THIS IS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT RIGHT HERE!!!. WE All KNOW WHERE THE REAL ORIGINAL COWBOYS AND COWGIRLS COME FROM. 😲💃💃💃💃💃
Compton Cowboys !!! 🐴🐎💜
Wow! Amazing story, thank you so much CBS. I’m a young African American and learned something new. This is an example of #CBS taking ownership of their content and promoting the true meaning of #BLM Black lives matter movement. Teach the history, give us financial literacy, stand with us against injustice and respect us all as equals. That’s all we need!
I wouldn't say all that..
But yes nice story.
The streets raised us
The horse saved us.✊🏿✊🏿
Original cowboys. Another thing they took from us once we made it look cool.
Nope not even close, try again. No different than klansmen
th-cam.com/video/g5-IYkstCyY/w-d-xo.html
Original Cowboys in America were the Spanish and their horses. The Spanish then taught the Mexicans who taught the white settlers.
@tinker bee dont be made because truth is coming out. More is to follow!!!
Robert Cavazos well you guys didn’t call them “cowboys” you called them cabellaro’s . The white would call the boys they sent to live with the cows and heard them. Cowboys! Them boys in the field that heard the cows. Them “cowboys was not a indearing term till western shoot em up movie’s fetishized it and guns! Then and only then was it cool to be a cowboy. That why Lone Ranger wore a black mask cause the original cowboys were black. Know HIStory . Every culture has people who ride horses and use them for transportation.
Robert Cavazos we don’t want your culture homie. We got our own. Have that conversation with your kids! They wanna be like us!
Fred Whitfield one of the BADDEST COWBOYS EVER 💪💪 one of the fastest ropers I ever had a chance to watch👍👍 GOOD JOB CBS this is why I watch your news ❤️
Excellent! I love this! BLESS!
Oh wow that was really cool , I didn't know about the Compton cowboys that's so good for the children . I use to go to the black rodeo all the time when it was at Griffith Park . I love horses and I love cowboys 😊
You know THEY already HATE this lmfao. Well go on then, eat your heart out. 😂😂😂
Why would ANYONE hate real AMERICAN HISTORY? My Daughter and myself ride all the time with large groups of friends and family who are Black and white and Hispanic. It's a way of life not everyone sees color in everything. We see the Beautiful Colors that God made in the sunset and in the Flowers and we see the Beauty that God made in his CHILDREN all of us!!!
Yay🤗
These are the kind of Heroes that the children need to look up to, not the rap stars gangsters drug dealers, this is true Americana 🤗
God bless these wonderful black cowboys and cowgirls🙏✝️
I guess that's where Rollin 60's "Cowboy" NIPSEY HUSSLE homeboy comes from.
@Carlos Camacho I know that but you don't know if "Cowboy" was born in Compton or has some kind of relation to Compton cowboys.
Love it.I'm a black cowboy out of Oklahoma City.Keep up the great work.😉👍
The Buffalo Soldiers!
God bless those black cowboys and all our black brothers and sisters. Im a Mexican cowboy myself. And I know a little bit about the history of the cowboy.
Awesome guyz awesome!!!
As a country grown individual I was aware of our black ranchers since childhood. The way I see it anyone who treats their family , friends, and animals right is a friend of mine no matter what they look like. Respect gets one further in life than anything else. *tips hat*
there have been black cowboys and cowgirls for years it is just they have been kind of underground
Hidden in plain sight...one just needs to know where to look.
It may appear underground but they really aren’t. They live quiet, hard working lives, like the rest of us , in rural ranching and farming areas.
Texas cowgal here! Love to see my cowboys and gals represent!
You never saw a movie with a black cowboy? The sheriff in my favorite cult classic "Blazing Saddles" is a black man.
I think they meant a movie solely based on a black cowboy perspective and experience
@@roybabineaux5353 Maybe so.
I am in my mid 60's and I NEED to admit that I never knew there were black cowboys. Now that I am retired and have the time and technology I am able now to learn the truth of what was hidden from me all these years. History books have failed for centuries in showing just how much the black people have contributed to the making of the United States. I am happy now to learn the truth and share my new found knowledge with my grand kids who are black. My learning will not stop here.
Looks like the true Native Americans to me, even though they are calling themselves cowboys.
Hey now. Yes we are
This is what I love to see and show my children✊🏽
Come to Houston,Texas.....
You see em everyday up and down Bellfort St in Sunnyside and South Park, Houston, TX
Ain’t nothin new here.
It’s a everyday occurrence
Long live the cowboy lifestyle, from all walks of life 🥰
Im all in for the black cowboy, ive been seeing over the past months some of their trail rides (on youtube), it looks like alot of fun.
This is the best thing I have seen in a long long time. I am in awe and thankful for the opportunity to see such a wonderful sight. Thank you for making my morning wake up news inspirational and encouraging.
Nice
I LOVE the HORSES..Riding is therapeutic & healing.❤✌
"Black Cowboys" as if the originals weren't black to begin with.
They were not the originals. The Spanish then the Mexicans were the originals.
Exactly. It’s like when people are surprised by black hockey players. The first hockey players were slaves who escaped to Canada and played their traditional African field goals game on the ice there in Nova Scotia. Look it up.
hazel goodshepherd !? Damn.
I had no idea, black cowboys...no shocker.
Black Harley riders...no shocker.
I had no idea there was such a thing as black hockey players.
Thank you. 😁 that’s pretty wild info there!
@@robinpesek3657 might want to do more research before you leave dumb comments with wrong info. Black natives were the first.
kissit012 who are you referring to? Which tribe, where?
Yezzzz! I didn't know it was black cowboys in Compton!😘❤✊🏾👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I'm from Houston and see it BUT, PROUD to hear/see that Compton TOO was about that life!👏🏽👍🏽❤❤
Horses are native to Europe, Thank colonialism for importing their species from Europe.
You have to racist head mr. EUROPEAN AMERICAN!
You have it backwards. Horses originate from North America, then spread to Europe and Asia. Nice try.
@@morningthunder 😂 Then how did the Romans have horses and Vikings, and Egyptians Asains, Spread through trade from Europe.
We’re both right in different ways. Research it.
I guess I am just trying to figure out why you would watch a story on black cowboys and feel the need to give white European settlers credit.
Horses came from all over the world, Africa has several breed of horses as well. No one country can law claim. Cowboy can, should be anyone. It shouldn't have color, but Americans are used to labeling everything. "Black cowbows" i don't see anyone calling WHITE COWBOY.

Proud. Love from the UK
Black power raised fist ? Really ( black privilege ) again
@Chandros Evans There's no such thing as black cowboys, only Buffalo soliders who killed Native Americans for a government paycheck.
@@nalabishop402 Really? My dad was a cowboy for all my life...got me and my brothers into riding and rodeo. I was riding horses by myself by the time i was 3 years old. My cousins and I spent numerous weekends at the barn in Brooklyn, NYC. My dad and brothers competed in rodeos up and down the east coast...
@@switchboard98 just cause you got a rich daddy doesn't make you a cowboy. Yeah playing with horses is fun but real cowboys put food on the table. Many of them like my family lived in covered wagons on the plains as outcast of the rich east coasters. Lots made friends with the Lakota and Ponca by giving them cattle to eat if their heards got to big. I'm just stating facts. You want me to keep going?
I, remember those days! I am black, female, and i was raised in Florida. My dad, was the proud owner of horses. I loves my childhood. I believe to this day the passion of horses made me who I am today. I took after my dad, and proud of it.
Why tf would you bring a 3 yr old
To a riot telling her to raise her fist 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 God so sad.
Imagine what racists make their kids do at 3 yrs old
Not a riot a ride theirs a difference. As the initial gentleman said this is a peace ride not a protest.
Don't mix the people up with the ones acting out. These people are peaceful. I'm glad to see someone is trying keep history straight.
My pops was born in raised in Mississippi riding horses an going to rodeos is life
Glad to see it! My families from Arkansas and Tennessee both owned and rode horses. There were lots of Black riders in Southern and "Southwestern" states (even outside of Texas)
