[Please Be Happy] Literary Analysis

We read a book, so it seems only fair that we do a book report, right?
Over the past few weeks in honor of Pride Month, we streamed the entirety of one of the two major story routes in the sapphic visual novel, Please Be Happy, by Studio Elan. The story of the fox girl, Miho, learning to become human with the help of her friends in Wellington, works as both a comfortable slice of life, but also features some more in depth themes.
This video is an analysis of themes, literary and otherwise, presented in the story, as viewed by JD. Of course, writing, like all art, is subjective, and other readers or viewers might come to different conclusions. While our streams only touched on a single route, this video contains full spoilers for all endings. We highly encourage those interested in the game to purchase and enjoy it from their platform of choice prior to watching this.
There's more we would've like to say and explore in this video, but as any writer knows, it turns out that being concise is often harder than hitting a word count.
