If there’s one thing that makes every evening complete, it’s settling back in the LayZBoy with a suitable beverage and watching the talented Tim Wells provide another episode of hunting joy and sometime sadness. I greatly appreciate the on the spot commentary and humbleness. Thank you Tim.

Very cool, awesome footage of that Fox jumping into the Tree! Saw you had the X24. After my first time out with the X24 FoxPro? I'm Hooked! Walked thru some Hi-Desert Grasslands into a Juniper Patch. Picked my sit spot perfect for the conditions. Bout the last time I go to fuss with the Remote, having to look down with head, when I look back up? Doh! Yote lookin' my direction. Probably saw the lil bit of movement of lifting head up. I'm sure he snuck in just after I'd put my head back down, in order to select a new sound. So anyway I freeze, since I'm wearing the 3D Leafy. With the commotion of the FoxPro and the MOJO Motion Decoy, he quickly turned his gaze back to them in fascination. Then the unthinkable! Long story shorter, from loading and unloading over multiple sets elsewhere that day, last time of putting it away I must not have cleared the chamber perhaps? So new location, put mag back in and pullback not all the way on charge handle (since to my belief it's empty, so nothing to eject) it grabbed another round off the mag and I'd traffic Jam'd my AR. Had two rds in the chamber. Was soo upset! Had like 3-4 times I put the crosshairs on him, he hung around that darn long! But the trigger was locked-up tight, wasn't gunna budge both of those rounds preventing it. My not yet knowing/understand WTH is going on, I tried dropping the mag, then re-insert, but ya gotta give it at least some smack to ensure it seats, so a light metallic "Clack!" when I did that... he turns to look.. had to play freeze-game again, eventually he turns back to the foxpro. Try again, all locked up. Then tried pulling charging handle back to, I dunno, clear it maybe? Lowered it quietly... lighty gave it that last push to snap closed... from another location he'd meandered over to, he looks back my direction yet again!! From other there slightly higher up on a mound. Same deal, freeze...wait... he can't help it, he turns back to the FoxPro + MOJO. But did change up the sounds at least once to kinda stop him from retreating, and it so totally did! He started aggressively Barking/Howling back on a Duet Howl I had switched to playing then! So even though I was heart-broken by an unfortunate turn of events... I can't deny I still had a crazy amazing up close experience! Can't wait to get back out there to hopefully catch that same one slippin' again! Since he never learned that I really was there, I'm betting if I hit it up now in a different part of the day, this time early morning, I feel certain I can call him in again!

Lol.. Tim, don't feel bad. Back in the early 80's, I did a lot of bounty hunts for ranchers in a Texas area. Lets just say that ole 22-250 and the twin row 12 got a lot of dogs. One night I had my trusty Jimmy Stewart cassette sitting about 80 yards out in a wheat field. The little rodents did a lot of attracting. Well It was nothing unusual to get a pack screaming in one direction and another start in the opposite. So I am sitting in the dark backed up in a thicket with a pickup truck, all covered in camo, and dirty load blankets, Out of now where I could here like a pant so I raised the rifle with a mercury switch light and took a scan, Rabbit ran over the truck and the coyote was on the same path, I fumbled and try to grab that scatter gun but to late. I caught him with the ole crosshairs and let him go. I wanted that pack or two that invaded me there almost every other night. It was a killing field for sure.
One day later after that I had the rancher next door tell me he had a mountain lion in the creek area. Well I seen that turkeys was roosting in there and there was several old pecan trees up and down that creek. So I find a good tree and carved a few limbs out. Came back the next morning and was all laid out on a double limb doing a little cotton tail jumbo and after a few minutes of teasing I had that ole hair on the back of the neck kinda stand up, you know like something watching you and its close,,,, Well ole man Bob kitty was clung to the tree almost at my boot. I still don't know who was in the biggest hurry, him to get away or me trying to figure the rifle twirl to throw down. Well Ole Bobby got to live that day. Sure fun, well them days it was.
Some good stick flinging out there in Big Hat country. Take care and keep flinging.

@@bluemanno7901 You don't think a Bob can keep out of site of someone when walking away? Then you need to get out more and try finding one in the wild let alone let it see you where it has the ability to use cover to get away. I have seen my fair share of Bob's do exactly the same thing while hunting over the years.
If you think they aren't smart enough to keep cover between themselves and other animals or humans you don't understand the mind of a hunter that hunts to survive. They have to keep cover between themselves and their pray and even other predators or they won't last long. The Bob in this video has been around hunters a few times at least. Most Bob's that haven't seen hunters before won't catch someone drawing on them when they are so set on pray. This Bob catching him multiple times before walking behind a tree then walking away keeping the tree between itself and the Slock Master is exactly what they do when they have been fired at a few times.

Weird day in Oklahoma. I was at Lake Thunderbird, bow hunting. Had hunted this spot the season before, found a fine-looking family of whitetail. Hell, they spotted me when I pulled in. Was sitting in a clearing trying to decide where to set my blind, I hear some noise behind me. The noise was getting closer, too close. Turned my head and was with in 10 feet of the young buck I had seen the last season. If I hadn't turned to look, he might have stepped one me. He stopped cold in his tracks, as did I. Took a few minutes for him to decide to go around the outside of the clearing. He went behind a larger tree and that is when I stood up full, drawing my bow. He stepped around the tree and whistled and took off like a shot. I was planning to go there the following year. Then I got hurt at work, tore up my right shoulder and found I can't draw a hunting bow anymore.

Why kill the wild bob cat? I thought that they were an endangered species?? It would be interesting to understand a bit more about the ecosystems of that area and how it appears to support so many predators. I was surprised to see that the wild male bob cat appeared to be a potential target, but the wild dog, which I assumed to be a domesticated species gone feral, was not taken immediately as a priority, to protect whatever natural ecosystems were still present in that area. Very impressed with the lion sighting, I should add. Thank you for sharing that experience.

Please add subtitles it’s impossible to understand. Do the arrows have a poison in them to bring then down? As they do not die immediately? Thanks

Tim, I love your videos, raw talent! The only animal I’ve ever seen get lucky around you is the lion. That was a beartbreaker, I bet you get another chance before you get 5000 more stands in though, you gotta seal the deal on one!

I’m sure this will end the Mexico series. I figured you would save the lion for the last. It’s been a helluva series! Also cats are notorious for putting cover between you and them if they bust you, but you know this lol.

How can you tell a male fox from a female at a distance? Lipstick? I think you made a good shot on first cat. Looked like he ducked it.

@@TimWellsBowHunter Amazingly, I don't think he ducked the sound of the bow, but it looked like he ducked the arrow itself... incredible.

The ultimate challenge. Ambushing hungry animals while trying to make a living.. And to film it too . That’s just next level.

  • @angelaedwards5124

Why? Why did you find the need to murder that cat? I was raised with a father and brothers hu ting and fishing. My husband and sons are hunters and fishermen. We eat what they kill or catch. I believe in protecting livestock. What you do is murder. Killing for no good reason is just not ok. It's people like you who give hunting a bad name. I am NOT a city girl..I was born in Texas and raised just out of Yosemite in the Sierra Nevada mountains. I have eaten a lot of deer, rabbit, fish even rattle snake. We never just kill because the animal is there.
