I was about to cry not knowing what to do with my car... Found this video, followed the steps 1 by 1 and viola!!! It solved my problem!!! Thank you so much!!!

Can this keep car from turning on. Code P2135 came up before (Tps issueni have been having for a lil while. Car still ran but sometimes i could not start my car normally and have had to crank multiple times or step on pedal and turn on, other times i would have to drive at 20 mph on the speedometer because i was really going 40 mph. 30 mph is really 60mph, 40 on speedometer is actually 80mph to the cops or sometimes revs high or rarely at times, limp mode. Anyway changed to a new throttle body. Car still cranks but ignition wont start this time. Cannot run vehicle to temperature in order to relearn. I have a camshaft code i need to look into. Maybe i just need gas? Can this be why an 05 altima 3.5 se wouldnt crank over. No clicks just wont start. Also, can these codes still be done. Thanks in advance.
Working on 2005 Nissan Altima. Replaced throttle body and watched numerous videos and spent numerous hours trying the relearn procedure. Was about to give up when I watched this video. Started completely over, followed this video and got it on the first try. Thanks for the video. There were some videos that had same procedure but this one just explained it better.
This is an awesome video and it’s the second time I’ve had to do it! I wrote down the steps in case anybody is interested: 1. Warm up engine 2. Turn car off 3. Place in Park 4. Release Gas Pedal 5. Turn ignition on for at least 2 seconds 6. Turn ignition off at least 10 seconds 7. Make sure accelerator released 8. Turn ignition on 9. Turn ignition off at least 10 seconds 10. Make sure accelerator released 11. Turn ignition on at least 3 seconds 12. Press and release Gas pedal 5x in 5 seconds. 13. Wait 7 seconds and PRESS and HOLD accelerator. 14. After 11 seconds engine light blinks 15. After 9 more seconds engine light changes to steady. 16. Release accelerator and start car within 3 seconds 17. Let idle 20 seconds 18. Slightly rev to see is normal.
Thanks mate for making this simple steps could do it easy performed it once nailed it. I cleaned the throttle body on my nissan tiida 2005 and had erratic idling. Almost had a heart attack lol. This saved my day. Cheers
Just did a spark plug change on a Nissan Tiida. Had to remove the intake and throttle body to get to plugs. Decided to clean the carbon out of the throttle body. Put it together and had idle issues. Went thru this procedure and was a great success. Much appreciated.
I gotta say I'm impressed to say the least. I had an issue with a vehicle of mine 2003 Pathfinder. Kept getting a code for idle air control RPM too high. I knew something was off it was idling around 1200 or higher RPM. Started doing some research and everything pointed to this video and the more I watched this I thought it was complete bogus just seems a little far fetched. Sure enough no kidding this worked and fixed my issue due to me taking the throttle body off and cleaning it I guess threw it off and messed it up well this procedure fixed it right back to perfect idle around 800. Thank you for this video very helpful indeed
This procedure really works, if you pay close attention to the instructions and have patience, it took 4 trys before it finally worked. You have to be right on with the timing of each countdown, but good luck to everyone that has to do this!!!
Just wanted to add that this is an excellent video but just remember to make sure everything is reconnected especially your mass airflow sensor. I went through this procedure numerous times with no success and was absolutely frustrated. I walked away I came back and noticed I never reconnected the mass airflow sensor. Reconnected the sensor and presto problem solved and the relearn was successful. Much thanks to this video. Hope this helps someone out that might be scratching their head thinking they did everything right but I actually forgot something very simple.

this really helped on my 2005 nissan altima, had removed and replaced the throttle body and car started to rev up and down like crazy.. didn't know what had happened, after watching this video and with a lot of patience, I finally program the throttle body. good video
This method worked on my 2007 Nissan Murano. I took off the throttle body last week to give it a clean and after putting it back in, i started having problems with start ups. So i searched on YT and came across your video, followed the instructions and voila, the car started on the first turn, thank you so much for making this video.
This video proved extremely useful when I cleaned the throttle body on my 2011 Nissan Rogue. It was running very poorly when I restarted it after the cleaning. The steps shown here, when performed properly, solved the issue for me and I could not be happier. The vehicle is running very well now and there is no more 'stumble' at idle when coming to a full stop.
Here's my story. I'm driving 2006 Almera till one day car's rpm just wouldn't get higher than around 2k rpms, everything sounded/felt fine just loss of power, took it to mechanic/services and it took them one month to diagnose/replace throttle body, when I got the car back, noticed that rpms are jumping up and down when going into neutral, fuel usage increased insanely, idle rpms too high, brought in back to mechanic because we thought it's not adjusted but he failed to do that and I got worried that the service had given me another bad throttle body and I have wasted my money, till I found this video, tried everything myself and got it working properly on the first try!!! So happy now, love u man, good work!
Worked for my (push to start ) 2011 Nissan Altima 2.5 . Thank you so much , I had cleaned out my throttle body and mass air flow sensor and after putting things back together . I noticed that my throttle body wouldn’t respond well . My car would show me how much gas I had released by stepping on the gas pedal by having the dashboard indicator meter ( 0-60) MPG on dashboard display . When stepping on gas pedal the meter wouldnt go up and when I would let go the meter would rise and drop constantly and finally max out (randomly out of order) . When it would max out i would assume I can lay off from the gas pedal for a bit but instead the car would lose power as I’m driving and than gain power . Like , the torque would set u back going 30mps literally . I knew it was the throttle body , the flap wasn’t opening right and releasing its mixtures at random times making my car to jerk and idle bad . But nomore . I changed my spark plugs , cleaned out the throttle body , air mass sensor , changed the ignition coils and nothing ever fixed the problem . Other you tubers were saying it’s the transmission slipping but no , it wasn’t . Thank you for your help !
My 06 Altima 3.5 is having a similar issue. It did sit for a few years so that’s probably part of the issue. But about a week after getting it going, the service engine soon light came on, the code read p0507. The light went off . Drove 3 more days and light came back on..and one night I accelerated from a red light and then the acceleration went out for a second. I continued on and 10 seconds later it did it again. I get home and park it. The next morning the car won’t start and the service engine soon light is no longer on. Later Day it starts up. But a few hours later nothing happens. I notice I have an oil leak as well. I unplug the battery for a little bit and it starts up, so I plan next morning to bring it in to be diagnosed. But in the morning it won’t start. I recently had the throttle body cleaned but it still won’t start after I turn it off and let it sit for a little bit. You think the relearn procedure will fix it or I’m not finding the right thing to fix?
Thank you! My idle was rough after I changed the coils and spark plugs. Had to remove the whole intake and window cowl to get to the back spark plugs, they made this van hard af to work on.

Thanks. Took a few trys but ultimately worked for my 04' nissan titan make sure you follow every step to the end even the rev 7 times at the end. Dont get all excited once you see the blinking light your only half way done...!
Thanks for this. I didn't realize I did it wrong on my '13 titan until I saw this comment. I did it right and now it works. I was tearing my hair out trying to find a vacuum leak after replacing my starter and cleaning my original MAF. Replaced the MAF thinking it was bad, intake seals, was about to try a new intake and throttle body next.
I cleaned my throttle body on my 06 Nissan Pathfinder. Started idling high around 1k, Check engine light after I put it back together. I did all 3 procedures about 20 times. Still high idle. Next day I tried the procedures with the engine stone cold, started it, came back a few minutes later and BAM 625 RPM! If this procedure isn't working for you with a fully warmed up engine and transmission, try it cold.
It was the idle high code on service engine soon (check engine) light. I have the factory service manual and the same steps for TB learning are in there also. i am curious if anyone else will have success with a fully cold engine.
This works on a 1.8L 2005 Sentra. After trying this method many many times with zero success, I changed a couple of things. 1. I used my torque app and OBD dongle to constantly check and erase any ses codes while the car was running and during this idle learn. My car would set the high idle code many times but it takes time before the ses light comes on to let you know. So you think there's no code set...but its in the computer even so. Keep that code clear regardless of any dummy light. 2. After this process was done I idled it 5-10sec then placed into drive and back to park twice. It almost killed in drive doing this but I put I back in park and idle settled out. Success!
WOW THANK YOU! I SPEND 1 YEAR TRYING OTHER CODES GIVEN IN OTHER VIDEOS AND NOTHING WORKED! Obviously REPLACING THROTTLE BODY & AIR FLOW SENSOR, ETC., WAS TOO EXPENSIVE!! I HAD TO DRIVE MY CAR TO WORK LIKE THAT EVERY DAY, HURTING MY TRANSMISSION! BUT IT DOES STILL WORK! I ALMOST GAVE UP...UNTIL I FOUND YOU🙏👼👍😀 the shortest of all steps! and IT WORKED!! I WAS IN DISBELIEF! I LITERALLY CRIED! YOU SAVED MY CAR AND I 😉THANK YOU & THANK YOU AGAIN! BLESSINGS!
PS. I LOVE YOU!!!!💕💕 NOW I CAN REST! I CAN SLEEP! & BE AT A LIGHT, OR PARKED WITH MY ENGINE RUNNING! 😀 WITHOUT EVERYONE LOOKING AT ME BECAUSE MY CAR WOULD BE SO LOUD! IT WAS AWFUL! THANKS TO YOU IM NORMAL AGAIN!...well my Nissan is normal again! 🙏👍😀
This appears to be the one that will do it. I took my Nissan Maxima 2007 (47,000 miles on it) into a Nissan dealer; because it was losing mileage per gallon. They said I needed the "Throttle Body" and the "Mass Air Flow" needs to be cleaned. They charged me upwards of $200.00. When I drove the car out the "Engine Light" came on and stayed on. I took it back but then the Tachometer was going up and down badly in idle. I do NOT believe the Nissan dealer "Re-Leaned" the computer as you do. Also I do NOT believe they cleaned the two items above correctly. I believe they just sprayed cleaner without removing them from the air canal; that goes from the air filter to the intake plenum. I am going to remove them and clean them thoroughly. Then... ...I am going to do it just as you say. I believe it will solve my problem. Thank you so much.
Wow. This is worked! I was struggling for more than one month with this problem. What a miracle. Dropped idle from 1800 to right around 800!!! Excellent! Many thanks. (This is Nissan TIIDA)
MVP🤜🏾 was having issues with my MAF sensor, replaced it and cleaned the throttle body and it started reving around 1200RPM. Your steps helped now its revenge at 600-500👌🏾
2013 Titan... Worked for me! (So far no more lean codes anyway... Stand by). I pulled the intake to replace the starter... Pcv valve exploded last summer so had a mess to clean, noticed the intake tube was ripped under the throttle body hose clamp. Cleaned it all up, replaced the leaky tube, replaced MAF, cleaned the TB/replaced all the gaskets... Still running like crap. Transmission shift points were all screwed up too. I was scared i had cracked the intake or broke a sensor wire pigtail... Was tearing my hair out checking for vac leaks. Its amazing how the computer can correct for all of the messed up parameters this thing had. Im sure all of the tables were now all out of whack correcting for these problems. I never saw a dip in fuel mileage and it idled fairly smooth but was just starting to feel a tiny bit rough... Now that its fixed up i just badly freaked it out changing all this stuff at once. Now it shoukd run like brand new. If only i had somewhere i needed to drive to today lol...
@@eleazarlanda9122 Car was idling high when I first bought it. It had 160k miles. Not sure if previous owner changed anything. (I doubt it). Maybe battery or ecu or something electrical
Thank you so much for making this video! It worked for my 07’ Nissan Frontier v6 4.0 when I did my engine swap! Idle dropped down rite where it should be after following this video.

Thank you very much for the precise step by step video. I would like to add on to this procedure as most batteries are below 13 V, so I if you can connect a booster cable with another vehicle then your voltage should be around 14.5V. Then try to relearn, mine worked the first time after I had 4 failed attempts without a booster connection.
THIS WORKED. Long story short, customer car was idling high I cleaned throttle body and intake during spark plugs replacement. No big deal if if idle high because I've recalibrated throttle body with my scan tool. This time it was a no go! On a 2002 maxima, car idle at 950. Followed steps and mainly final procedure, issue fixed! Come to find out, it always ran high like that! Well it's fixed now

Thanks for this. Helped me alot on my 2003 pulsar n16. I replaced the battery and the car would shut off after starting. I did the idle air, volume learn process and I had to rev the car up at the end when starting. After that the idle fixed itself.
Yes. The video is very good. But I want to know, why does my 2007 Nissan Murano throttle body often deprogram? It's not normal that I have to do this constantly. Answer, please

Bonjour, j'ai visité presque tous les masters que j'essaie de faire depuis 2 mois, mais je n'ai pas trouvé de solution, je l'ai fait avec votre vidéo, merci, que Dieu vous bénisse.😊
FYI.. I own a 2003 sentra spec-v, I tried many times and I was finally successful, but what I actually did was the following.. 1*-ignition on for 3 sec. - ignition off for 10 sec 2*-ignition on for 3 sec -ignition off for 10 sec 3*-ignition on for 3 sec -ignition off for 10 sec ^then ignition on and press on the gas 5 times in 5 seconds, release for 7 seconds then press on the gas and hold till light starts flashing and follow like this video says
It worked on my 2002 Sentra se r spec v. Was throwing a code for tps when I bought it, but the throttle body was new. Thanks for the video, it helped me tremendously!!!
Will this work on a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder? I have no codes but idle would run about 1500 RPMs when warm about 1,000 RPMs cleaned the throttle body with throttle body cleaner still no change.

Great video ... but what's the difference between steps 1 and 2? They both are to keep foot off gas, turn ignition to on, turn ignition to off for 10 seconds, then repeat. I don't understand the difference. And I read elsewhere that the electronic throttle body loses its programming if the 12v battery gets disconnected. Does this mean that every time the battery gets replaced, or fully dies and needs jump start that this Re-Learn Procedure needs to be done? Thanks!
I had a question my 2007 pathfinder was on a hill and it would not start just kept turning over and would not start so i moved the throttle body to spray carb cleaner inside the throttle body. It started for a few seconds but now the battery died.. I had the car toed into my driveway to avoid a street sweeping ticket charged the battery , then relearned the the key fob, and the pathfinder started great, then the check engine light now ha come on. I read afterward never to touch throttle body , after it had already been done. Will these relearn procedures help my situation, Thank You in advance.

Thanks for the clear instructions. Seems that the idle is back to normal now but I still have one major problem. The "Check Engine Soon" light will still not go away. Any idea of how to remove it (as opposed to the usual battery terminal removal)? Hoping to find a way within the idle relearn steps on which I may be doing incorrectly...or not completing fully in order to have the light go back off. Thanks for any suggestions.

i have a 2004 nissan sentra, i replaced the throttle body and tried the relearning process several times however when i get o the flashing engine light the light doesn't not flash. any ideas what could be the problem, i follow the relearning process step by step. let me know thanks
There are several methods for completing a throttle body relearn. The method shown in this video is the most common method for Nissan vehicles. Please give us a call at 888-280-8324 and ask for Steve. He would be happy to walk through the process with you.
Try this procedure which does not require a CONSULT-II tool. NOTE: - It is better to count the time accurately with a clock. - It is impossible to switch the diagnostic mode when an accelerator pedal position sensor circuit has a malfunction. 1. Perform "Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning". 2. Perform "Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning". 3. Start engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature. 4. Check that all items listed under the topic "PREPARATION" (previously mentioned) are in good order. 5. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds. 6. Confirm that accelerator pedal is fully released, turn ignition switch ON and wait 3 seconds. 7. Repeat the following procedure quickly five times within 5 seconds. a. Fully depress the accelerator pedal. b. Fully release the accelerator pedal. 8. Wait 7 seconds, fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for approx. 20 seconds until the MIL stops blinking and turned ON. 9. Fully release the accelerator pedal within 3 seconds after the MIL turned ON. 10. Start engine and let it idle.
Hello guys pleased you all benefited from this video, I tried it on my altima 2011 hybrid after cleaning but doesnt seem to work as the video suggest to leave it Idle for 20s but the hybrid does Idle when switched on, has anyone tried it on a hybrid altima? Thanks all

I just had a diagnostic test done earlier this week and discovered that I needed a new throttle body. Bought a new one, had it installed yesterday and ran through this checklist. VOILA! The idling seems to be fine now. There's only one small problem.... the SES light is still on. How do I reset it? I was told by a friend that it would eventually clear on its own but he's no mechanic. Thanks!
The engine light will clear by itself, as your friend suggested, if the issue has been resolved. Sometimes it takes a few days out with the car for it to clear.
How do I re learn the throttle pedal replacement only in a Nissan Sentra 2017 turbo 6 speed manual trans? I it the same procedure and changing the TPPS or TB ?

Is there any negative to doing this procedure? As in, is there anything that could go wrong? Like if you screw up the procedure, will it totally screw up the idle? Thanks
Thanks for the reply. I currently don't have an issue, but was just wondering in case I wanted to clean my TB or add a plenum spacer. Do you know by chance if the idle will be screwed up by just unplugging the TB?
I have tried this multiple times but I don’t hear the sound that the throttle body is supposed to make. Is my throttle body bad and should I buy a new one? I changed all spark plugs and coil but still a rough idle and getting a code 302. I was thinking maybe I needed to do a throttle relearn but I’m not getting the sound from the throttle body?

Hello! For clarification when you say the battery needs to be greater than 12.9 volts is that with the car on or off? Mines is reading around 12.5-12.6 with the car off. Could this be why the relearn isn’t working for me?

2006 Nissan Altima.Thank you for the information your provided. I have another question so the old TPS was not functioning properly but kept my RPMs for the most part under 1000, when i installed the new TPS the RPMs revs up and down I attempted to perform the re-learn process and didnt help. so I removed the new TPS and installed the old one and the problem went away. so it only revs up with the new one. does that mean is defective? or does the computer recognizes the old TPS ..?
Hello, thanks so much for the video! Everything on this works very well for me, until the check engine light starts blinking while I'm holding down the accelerator. Instead of coming back on again after 20ish seconds, it continues to blink indefinitely. I tried holding it down for over three minutes and it didn't stop. Any idea why this is? I drive a 2002 Nissan Frontier SE 3.3 v6. Any input would be much appreciated.

How can i relearn when the engine light is on throwing a P2135?
*voilà. ;)
I wrote down the steps in case anybody is interested:
1. Warm up engine
2. Turn car off
3. Place in Park
4. Release Gas Pedal
5. Turn ignition on for at least 2 seconds
6. Turn ignition off at least 10 seconds
7. Make sure accelerator released
8. Turn ignition on
9. Turn ignition off at least 10 seconds
10. Make sure accelerator released
11. Turn ignition on at least 3 seconds
12. Press and release Gas pedal 5x in 5 seconds.
13. Wait 7 seconds and PRESS and HOLD accelerator.
14. After 11 seconds engine light blinks
15. After 9 more seconds engine light changes to steady.
16. Release accelerator and start car within 3 seconds
17. Let idle 20 seconds
18. Slightly rev to see is normal.
Thank you
Thanks mate for making this simple steps could do it easy performed it once nailed it. I cleaned the throttle body on my nissan tiida 2005 and had erratic idling. Almost had a heart attack lol. This saved my day. Cheers
Merci pour le vidéo

Thanks dude!
Just did a spark plug change on a Nissan Tiida. Had to remove the intake and throttle body to get to plugs. Decided to clean the carbon out of the throttle body. Put it together and had idle issues. Went thru this procedure and was a great success. Much appreciated.
Bro 😢same here I changed plugs clean carbon and after all fix the response are so slow is this will successfull work
I gotta say I'm impressed to say the least.
Did u do all 3 Procedures
Just wanted to add that this is an excellent video but just remember to make sure everything is reconnected especially your mass airflow sensor. I went through this procedure numerous times with no success and was absolutely frustrated. I walked away I came back and noticed I never reconnected the mass airflow sensor. Reconnected the sensor and presto problem solved and the relearn was successful. Much thanks to this video. Hope this helps someone out that might be scratching their head thinking they did everything right but I actually forgot something very simple.

So you didn't replace anything, just did the procedures to fix performance issues?
Worked like a charm! Dropped idle from 1,300 to right around 650. Thanks!
Glad to hear it 👍
this really helped on my 2005 nissan altima, had removed and replaced the throttle body and car started to rev up and down like crazy.. didn't know what had happened, after watching this video and with a lot of patience, I finally program the throttle body.
So happy now, love u man, good work!
i have the same issue please advise
How did you do it with the push button?
This is the best video on this test process by far!!!!! Don’t listen to anyone but this guy!!
Magnificently explained! I'm also glad to have a car with such a simple procedure for such an important feature in a vehicle.

@@misterbulgerso you never replaced the throttle body, just did the procedures?

For my Nissan Altima 2007 2.5 this worked, I tried about 5 different ways before coming to this one. Yes. Thank you sir.
Thank you for your feed back
@@CardoneIndustries will this work on the 2010 sentra? Having exact same problem
So you never replaced anything, just tried the procedures to try and resolve performance issues?
Im still stunned that actually worked 1st time. you saved me a lot of time so thanks.
Your steps helped now its revenge at 600-500👌🏾
Thank you! This video saved the day. Other ones on here are a little wrong and misleading. Also hard to follow. Yours was perfect.
Lllllllllllllllllllllllll
This worked on my 2008 2 litre petrol Qashqai. Now drives normally and idles at a steady 700rpm.
Thanks Cardone, I'm absolutely delighted!
Wow it worked!!
Had to do it like 4 times.
It was idling high all the time. Nowit's normal! Yaaaay!

FYI..
I own a 2003 sentra spec-v, I tried many times and I was finally successful, but what I actually did was the following..
1*-ignition on for 3 sec.
- ignition off for 10 sec
2*-ignition on for 3 sec
-ignition off for 10 sec
3*-ignition on for 3 sec
-ignition off for 10 sec
^then ignition on and press on the gas 5 times in 5 seconds, release for 7 seconds then press on the
gas and hold till light starts flashing and follow like this video says
At 1:45 you say to turn the ignition off, the throttle is supposed to move by itself with the ignition off?

Omg thank you so much !!! I had very to almost no acceleration speed once I did this and finito! Worked like a charmed !
+Cardone Industries Wow thanks for the prompt response. I have a 2003 Nissan 350Z (3.5 DOHC). Yes..I know its old but hey it's still more reliable than all of my friends BMW's or Mercedes or Ford's :)
I don't have a throttle body problem it the throttle pedal it's self that's going to be replaced and does that need a relearning procedure if I replace it ?

Wah, great, selfless proper guide to Relearn... Thank u so much, but alittle too fast... ☃️☃️☃️☃️
Awesome vids!!! The same step if you have a KEYLESS START... Just press the button simultaneously as if you are turning a key... It works on my 08 Altima SL in ONE TRY... :D
Thanks. I was looking for an answer for push button start. Much appreciated
Wow thank you really didn’t think this would work but it did🦾 I have a 2014 Nissan maxima and just replaced the throttle body and it wouldn’t go over 2000 rpm then I came across this video
Wow the best instruction video ever. Thanks.
If you look at 2.39 is it normal that the hand is pausing for 1 sec on its way back. I have the same on the my car and I thought it was a fault.
Exellent. I'm relieved as I thought it was a fault.
Will this work on a 2010 Nissan frontier

i have a 2004 nissan sentra, i replaced the throttle body and tried the relearning process several times however when i get o the flashing engine light the light doesn't not flash. any ideas what could be the problem, i follow the relearning process step by step.
let me know thanks
There are several methods for completing a throttle body relearn. The method shown in this video is the most common method for Nissan vehicles. Please give us a call at 888-280-8324 and ask for Steve. He would be happy to walk through the process with you.
Try this procedure which does not require a CONSULT-II tool.
NOTE:
- It is better to count the time accurately with a clock.

I can't believe this actually worked but it did, thank you
What year Nissan?

How about the cars with push to start the engine??

John Doe I’m having the same problem, figure it out yet??
Hello, thanks so much for the video! Everything on this works very well for me, until the check engine light starts blinking while I'm holding down the accelerator. Instead of coming back on again after 20ish seconds, it continues to blink indefinitely. I tried holding it down for over three minutes and it didn't stop. Any idea why this is? I drive a 2002 Nissan Frontier SE 3.3 v6. Any input would be much appreciated.
I just shot you over a message with my email. Thanks a bunch, you guys are rad.
Hi.
This relearn process work with Nissan Pathfinder 2015 also? Because the car using Push Start Button.

When you run the first cycle, do you have the car running or just in the on position and the motor warmed up to running temperature
I think I did it but my service light is still on
