I love this man so much, and for some very important reasons. I was raised in a home where I was taught to believe in an angry and vengeful God, who was constantly watching me so that I could be punished for my sins. God was weaponized against me and I was absolutely terrified of him. When I was finally able to leave that toxic and abusive environment, the first thing I did was become an atheist. I felt that I had no choice. For me, it had become a matter of life and death. But a few years ago I discovered this extraordinary man, the Reverend Doctor William Barber Il, right here on TH-cam. I started listening to his lectures and sermons. And he was talking about this God who was loving and kind and compassionate and who wanted the very best for me. These were completely foreign concepts to me. But little by little those old deep wounds that were inflicted upon me, as well as many other wounds too many to mention, starting to heal. I have a lot more healing to do, and I still struggle with my beliefs. But at least I know that there is this loving caring God out there waiting for me, when I am fully able to embrace him. Powerful message for all. We can no longer say as a people we don’t know. We can no longer say why do they hate us. We can no longer say why have they pounce on us so aggressively to keep us down. Why so many road blocks to keep us from rising and bringing the less fortunate with us. Why should blacks work with white liberals? Shouldn't Liberals work with liberals and conservatives work with conservatives? Why would a black person who does not believe in abortion or gay agendas align with white liberals? Why would a black person who does not believe in big government or entitlements gone amuck side with a white liberal? Why should a black person who sees liberalism as the cause of so many social ills in black America vote for liberalism? Liberalism does not represent the black interest of all blacks. We see things differently just like whites see things differently among themselves. Thats why I personally could never be liberal....I just do not like how white liberals see blacks. Many blacks do not see themselves as victims. Because of this...they conduct a life based on self determination and succeed. These blacks have a conservative value system...not a liberal one. So in short...liberals should side with liberals and conservatives should side with conservatives...no matter what the race.

Rev Dr. Willam Barber is an intellectual giant, he preaches what the real Jesus truly said not what the White Jesus has been changed to stand for! If only all preachers could speak truth like him we would have a lot less Hypochristians that are full of hate and ignorance but inspiring people that lead by Love, Charity,Equality of all and this world would be a much better place. God has truly blessed Dr.Barber to put a spotlight on truth to the word. God has given Rev Dr. Barber a light to focus on the hypocrisy of the Conservative Christian movement that hides their hate and bigotry behind religion. Rev Dr.Barber has been given the gift to shine a light on the woes of Neo Liberalism and how it is little different from Conservatism. God bless you for this Rev Dr. Barber. I love him speaking the truth to history also. As a lover of history he is completely right about what happened. The book Lies my Teacher Told Me covers this and how history was changed by white wealthy people to suppress the idea that Black people were ever considered equal. They changed history to say Lincoln didn’t care about slavery but fought to keep the union together. This is all untrue and a form of historical racism and yet it is still in our history books in schools. History matters and must be changed to represent what really happened not what the rich white people want us to believe happened. I love this man so much, and for some very important reasons. I was raised in a home where I was taught to believe in an angry and vengeful God, who was constantly watching me so that I could be punished for my sins. God was weaponized against me and I was absolutely terrified of him. When I was finally able to leave that toxic and abusive environment, the first thing I did was become an atheist. I felt that I had no choice. For me, it had become a matter of life and death. But a few years ago I discovered this extraordinary man, the Reverend Doctor William Barber Il, right here on TH-cam. I started listening to his lectures and sermons. And he was talking about this God who was loving and kind and compassionate and who wanted the very best for me. These were completely foreign concepts to me. But little by little those old deep wounds that were inflicted upon me, as well as many other wounds too many to mention, starting to heal. I have a lot more healing to do, and I still struggle with my beliefs. But at least I know that there is this loving caring God out there waiting for me, when I am fully able to embrace him. This is as right on point than I have lived through so far, up to this point, thank you so much for this. This is a real fire underneath our fannie's we need to have. While I can never go back to Christianity, I remain and grow in Afrikan Spirituality. I believe and promote ONE Afrikan people. Rev Dr. Willam Barber is an intellectual giant, he preaches what the real Jesus truly said not what the White Jesus has been changed to stand for! If only all preachers could speak truth like him we would have a lot less Hypochristians that are full of hate and ignorance but inspiring people that lead by Love, Charity,Equality of all and this world would be a much better place. God has truly blessed Dr.Barber to put a spotlight on truth to the word. God has given Rev Dr. Barber a light to focus on the hypocrisy of the Conservative Christian movement that hides their hate and bigotry behind religion. I love him speaking the truth to history also. As a lover of history he is completely right about what happened.
The book Lies my Teacher Told Me covers this and how history was changed by white wealthy people to suppress the idea that Black people were ever considered equal. They changed history to say Lincoln didn’t care about slavery but fought to keep the union together. This is all untrue and a form of historical racism and yet it is still in our history books in schools. History matters and must be changed to represent what really happened not what the rich white people want us to believe happened.

I'm a white atheist and I could listen to this man preach all day long, I love this man. I've watched and listened to videos featuring him a number of times now and follow his Poor People's Campaign, and this particular sermon brought literal tears to my eyes. You don't need to hold any religious beliefs to be inspired by this gentleman, you simply need to have a love for your fellow man.
