Hi, nice video. Just wanted to point out couple of things. 1. One need not be a people person to do research. Yes UXRs must interact with users but it's always structured, so you just need to be calm and clear. Myself and most of the UXRs I know are introverts and yet we perform well in our jobs. 2. UXRs do work with developers. Infact we need to collaborate with cross functional teams like marketing, data science, analytics, social media, development, testing etc more than designers. But it's true that research is tiring and stressful.
Thank you for your message yes introverts and extroverts can all be excellent UXers, and we do interact with all types of professional stakeholders and this varys project to project.
I don't think there are many "just research" UX Research jobs out there. Many UX Researcher job posts mention design work, knowing design software, building prototypes, and wireframes, etc. In an ideal world there would be plenty of UX Researcher jobs that are solely research, but I think it only exists at the larger companies.
Some job roles require a hybrid ux designer / researcher however an actual user researcher is not required to build prototypes at all but must understand how the prototypes work
Hi Hanna thats great , You can build you career based on understanding the UX Research process and lifecycle, i.e the key components of the job. Any questions feel free to ask :)

Tiring and stressful? Could you talk a bit more about why and if you still have fun?
@@Jessica-tb8ux yes its definitely a fun job because you get to discover insights everyday and the team work is very exciting
I appreciate the clarity in this video. I better understand the distinction.
Great thanks
