Sorry, but torture does not work. That's partly why it's not allowed under Geneva Conventions.

Hmm, torture on 1 doesn't. In such circumstances, take at least 3 prisoner, separate them, interrogate them, 2 or more stories will align, believe those, and heed the rest.
Humans know the concept of torture, and will lie, comply and whatnot, the torturer is almost always giving too much info, so they can weave a story around it.
But consider this, the story was unbelievable for at least 1 reason. Invasion, just captured 1, seemingly the first, and they can understand each other? only AI will forget translators and build up of enough data to have such. Also, this was an exoskeleton species, so carapace and all. VERY unlikely to have vocal cords instead of clicks or whatever screeching.

@@DataStorm1 I stopped listening after the point when the human took out a piece of rebar and smashed the aliens leg (or whatever) in with it and waited for it to stop screaming.

@@thedarcbird Oh, they finish 'm off in the end. But I was just responding to you in the general sense of OP.
And Geneva convention doesn't really matter when the Americans are just keep waterboarding and whatnot.

@@DataStorm1 Have you seen the film "Rendition"? I think this should be shown more, because of how it ended. (With the protagonist just listing off load of names in the hope that the torture would stop.)

@@thedarcbird I know so, but as I was saying, if you have to implement it, you can scientifically make it sound in information gathering.
Don't get me wrong, I'm against torture as well.
But if you are in the business of information gathering, you have to eliminate wrong info, which can be obtaining by having a larger number of victims. And near all movies make torturers maniacal, mean etc and useless outside of a plot to continue the movie.
