Maybe try pulling up to the stump blade 1st and put the blade down to stabilize the machine as you dig. That is part of the reason the blade is on the machine in the 1st place , it acts as an outrigger. Digging from track side is not a good idea, especially when doing a job that's bigger than what the machine is built for. Even if digging from track side, the blade should be used as a stabilizer, you will have a lot less stress on the hydrolic system.
