  • Here is a very abbreviated list of places known to have gold. This is not a Top 10. Just places in no specific order. This is a common question among new comers so I tried to scatter the creeks throughout the state. Feel free to comment below with a few creeks of your own.

My high school science teacher used to sink a box in one of our local creeks and collect from it about once a year. He claimed he would harvest about an ounce of gold from it every year. He would leave it in the creek to do its job. He was a very interesting teacher and knew a lot of things that I had an interest including beekeeping. He actually had hives in our courtyard.
Anyway, he's long passed and I remember the name of the creek. I was surprised by it. I'm guessing that you only mentioned the bigger creeks in our state that hold gold.
Some of the creeks in Northeastern Pa were a surprise for me when you mentioned they held gold. I used to fish the Tunkanhock with my father as a boy. Where dad built his summer home is basically coal country.
    Thanks for the information.

@@beebob1279 jesus jumping to conclusions jehosephet. So... you are aware that there are tons and tons of things that can happen to people that is wrong... by literally every single system on earth right? Law enforcement and the judicial system are run by people. It will never matter how good something is in theory if it is run by people... it's run by flawed creatures. People get things wrong. People pay the price. The law has been dead wrong a million times. There are crooked cops. There are all kinds of judges and all kinds of kangaroo courts and all kinds of "oopsie... we never got your registration" (Except you absolutely sent them your registration) etc etc.
The scariest thing on this planet is blind loyalty. Anyone who assumes anyone who came in contact with the law is wrong... is one lucky and wrong SOB. Just for example... my girlfriend was pulled over (for not a single reason)... and then because it was after midnight (her shift just ended)... they called her "lethargic" and unlawfully searched my car without either of our permission... they found her PRESCRIPTION of xanax... and arrested her. I had to go get her out. Total cost... including a lawyer... 7 thousand dollars and 50 hours community service. They would not provide their body cam nor dash footage during discovery. Why? Because they were also sexually harrassing her and they had absolutely zero reason to do any of it. Zero. She used to think cops were good and she was on their "side". She literally was terrified to drive for an entire year. I had to do it. Every single drive. Because ya know... EVERYTHING can be fucked up. And the ones that ALWAYS are... are the ones that have people blindly defending them.
There are much... much worse stories. But yea... the whole system failed. My girlfriend got pulled over for having a job... and then arrested for having a prescription for anxiety. And guess what? I paid for most of it. Because she couldn't work for a bit. Because she was terrified of driving for a bit. SO yea.... I'd say... rethink what you said. My nearly 8 thousand dollar hole in my pocket and heart (it was my moving out money)... they want to slap you silly.

@@beebob1279 It might not be that simple. I am an upright person, as is a sibling of mine, but both of us have been seriously burned by the system's disregard. In fact, my brother's lawyer was sent to prison a couple years afterward, and I could say more, so try not to make assumptions why this person moved. I would do about anything to be able to move.

Fascinating, thing I learned today, I had no idea. I'm taking it that "bedrock" is the source of the gold and basically we're waiting for it to weather out, or look for ice age deposits to have done that job for us. I mean, I knew the ice shields made it to southern PA but never put two plus two together that there would be a "Moraine" state park, will have to check it out, beautiful areas regardless.

Never thought of that i think I'm gonna try digging out some of the potholes like that. Is there any groups in my area? I really want to get me and my son into prospecting and panning but have never actually done it before and could use some mentors with experience willing to teach us. Or at least people to help with questions and advice. Also what about really shallow creeks? My aunt has one in her backyard it's pretty big but usually VERY shallow. Like prospecter, Tom Massey, says, "It's not about having thr gold, it's about 'finding' the gold [the joy of anticipation]". Most people aren't in this to make money, it's their downtime fun.

Prospecting? Tom massey of the GPAA says this, "It's not about having the gold, it's about FINDING the gold [anticipation and fun with friends and family]". Tom once found so much in one river hole in CA that he saved it all just as is. The hole was between two steep mountain hills in a deep river crevace--in a spot 80' deep that they dove down to. People ask him, "What did you do with it all?", and he always answers, "I still have it!" I can't remember how much gold it was--seems like they said 80+ pounds??--not sure. I know it wasn't grams. But he is cheerful, down to earth, is not competitive with others and just has fun "finding" the gold. His late father founded the GPAA. Anticipation that's healthy is hope, and good for great downtime, so as far as health, yes, even if you only ever find a crumb.

@@freewaresucks gold would have came from Northwest in your area but then ran South as it got to your location so most of it would be ground up to micro gold but it's still there look for the black sand. Chances are you're probably looking too hard. The larger stuff in your area would come from the bedrock that is there and was never moved and is now being broken up from hydro erosion. Streams that flow from the East to the West like said above would be your best bet but all of them the contain gold just less ounces per ton of material processed. Where when you go from your area north or west the concentration obviously gets better. Look at a topographical map then zoom out you will be able to see but it looks like direction of water flow if you imagine the map is sand at the beach that you just dumped a bucket of water on. Now once you find the direction of flow remembering it came primarily from the north and flowed with a direction of heading primarily to the South look at that map and decide where the gold deposits would be chances are the places you pick are going to be gravel pits that is because that material is deposited in the same place basically so find a stream nearby that location go downstream little bit and find the black sand you will find your gold.

also a well being dug in perry county and a couple ounce found. Lancaster, reading area shows a ton of quartz dug up. I also question phoenixville with there pyromorphite finds.
up north there were dedicated gold mines. in potter county they talked about the creeks outside of coudy with gold, garnets etc in it. off route 6 one year i got a small nugget in the spring, lol, then left after a timber rattler thought id might be warm spot to hang out on.

Rick-...It was organized from timeless matter He already had for an incalculable span of time. The matter is older than the organizational events. So don't quibble, it isn't as simple as that. I might tell you more about this, but even you might reject it, like that it was not put into orbit here until after it was complete, and ancient scripts do say where it's organization took place. But funny standards today, though, it's like that set if Rolex watch parts thry talk about getting thrown into a bag--they claim it you just shake it long enough, it'll eventually organize itself into a functional watch!--NOT! 😂 As Isaiah says, many "plain and precious parts" Christ promised must be restored of necessity...and if that was hard to hear, then how are you any less shut down thst any other cinic? Let's not be! Admitting to possibility is a laboratory term, faith. It's to only party to fruition, so don't assume John or God were referring to the Bible in that last book which wasn't actually last. The Bible wasn't assembled and named yet, and once it was, it was so named by a atheistic political manipulator, Constantine, who was not "called". It was not named by deity, prophets, apostles or disciples, and it simply means "little books", many of which they excluded and tampered with. So look to Isaiah, because those those are promised to be "restored", and they have been. Don't get caught up in this 6000 year thing. There is more at stake, plus, it's not the whole story. Look to Isaiah, Ezekiel snd Joseph of Egypt. They confurm each other on the most important latterday detail in the Bible. That part promises to restore the lost parts. It's in Deuteronomy, too, so we were supposed to reject everything after that? I'd say not. Today, we are trying to enjoy something healing and enjoyable, anticipation, whstever the subject matter. If you're not here for that, but are causing a rift, how us that "gathering Israel"? We are first here to be an example of upliftment, and contention is not of the Spirit--the Spirit will depart it, so can we just start with loving one another? What you are saying may have some truth in it, but you are instigating discord in your approach. Stop that and value others and love them first. Don't entertain snags. I'm a missionary, but you preached with a pointy little pointer, so I'm preaching back, this isn't the place to shove. Leave his ear on his head. This is a panning post.
