Hats off to you sir, this is stuff that makes you riconsider the whole machine. I'd like to add that this is even more applicable now on the DT2, as you can easily assign and even name the CC's to remember the parameters. Also, you have 2 lfos per track now and double the amount of CC's assignable.
Wow this goes deep, never thought you could do such things on the Digitakt, I think I need more time on my machine before going into all this. I was headscratching the whole video.. great stuff though, thanks for sharing! Need to save this for later for sure.
So good. I wish i knew what you knew about this piece of kit ! I’m going to have to watch that several times to take it all in properly. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, yeah, the DT2 is wildly powerful, I’ve been wrapping my head around a workflow. Stereo resampling and the abundance of tracks, new effects and synth-type features, I’m working out my system for sure. (There are some launch bugs, though, so I haven’t worked with midi much yet.)
Hey, some really cool tutorials you got there! Tbh I found it a bit hard to follow at times but that might be because I had a really long working day (and that stuff is super advanced). Really cool to see how deep these machines go tho.
Yeah, this one does go a little fast and is super advanced. I’d done a number of videos on similar techniques on the Syntakt before this one-those go much slower and then instructions for adapting the ideas to the Digitakt/Digitone are here. Thanks for watching!
I’d like to request a video series breaking each of these sections down more in depth or what your ultimate setup for midi loopback in the midi channels would be- I have many questions 😂 Curious about what your exact midi channel settings are in the midi config bc in another video I saw about macro controls using midi loopback it says you need to take one midi track out (channel 16 midi track H) by setting it to off and then setting all midi tracks to 16 and all sample tracks to 15 then set midi tracks a-g individually to 15 on their source pages and midi track h to 16 to be the master macro control. I realize that’s not the double loopback technique you describe but I’m wondering if there’s a way to combine the two so I can stack midi ccs for knob twists on a macro control but then have part of the midi channels seperate so that I can do those fx channel tricks you have described with the double midi loopback? This is incredible information though you are truly doing the Lord’s work 🫡🙌🏼
Hi thanks, sorry this video moves so quickly I had u diagnosed brain injury while making it (still recovering, not making videos right now). The macro control thing only works on Syntakt and Digitone, it’s something you can adjust in sound settings, and it’s a lot more powerful for one-knob manipulation than what can be achieved on Digitakt.
@@humanprogram omg I’m so sorry to hear that I hope you are recovering well !!! So I think I’ve realized how to do what I was talking about with having the midi channels routed to have a section for the way of using the midi loopback in the ways featured in your video and also have some of the other channels dedicated to the stacking of midi cc’s on the other channels and having them route to another master channel to create “macro knobs” which is what I mean when I say macros
This is fantastic. Couple Qs- the performance trigs : what are the yellow trigs doing since there isn’t a sample set to them and the sequencer isn’t moving? Is there a way to cc / loopback control retrigs on the fly as you can with Machinedrum, for example to machine gun hats or snares at will? Cheers!
Hi, the yellow trigs work the same as red when you audition the trig, but having more than one color can make it easier to remember what's where. Unfortunately, there's no midi control over retrigs on the DT.
@@humanprogram thanks. i'm still not clear .... the red trigs audition would play the total combination of sample and parameters as if it was played by the sequencer? ... but the yellow trig would only trigger parameters, not sample, so why is something playing when you hit them?
The performance trigs (probability zero trick) - are they quantised or they come out as soon as the key is pressed? Is it possible to have a midi track control another midi track using the loopback? TY!
So I finally have it where it’s set up correctly for the double midi loopback but when I make a trigless trig as you describe for the resonator on the fx channel and hold it down to press yes it triggers all the track sounds and doesn’t sound like a resonator? What am I doing wrong?
I responded on Elektronauts at more length, but turning off MIDI >Port Config > Note Receive (better solution than in this video, where I turned Velocity to 0) will keep tracks from sounding, double check other settings and cable if CC commands aren’t going through.
hello Good morning, Do you know if it is possible in song or chain mode to use reverb, delay and LFO on all patterns and not pattern by pattern ? Thanks
Reverb and Delay, yes, you can make these global in Settings > Global FX/Mix. That works wonderfully for carrying delay loops across patterns. I don't know off the top of my head how LFOs behave between pattern switches.

Yes, I'm still getting a sense of all the possibilities on the DT2, the ability to resample in stereo might change how I approach it...

These are the real pro ticks. Thanx a lot for sharing!

Would love to see you do a video on this for the DT2, some possibly new interesting features on there to expand the ideas?

Happy to hear and hope you're well, regarding the health comments below
So good! Thank you so much for taking the time to share these techniques on digitakt. I've got so much to learn...
This is very, very cool! The only other person who has talked about "trigless" trigs is Oscillator Sink, as far as I know. Great tutorial!
thanks! yeah, I think there are still plenty of things left to discover and work out on these machines. Love Oscillator Sink's channel!
This is amazing. Going to explore this soon.
Incredible. Love your work. Many thanks.
Thanks!

Sick! Thanks for sharing
Dude this a game changer, I already ordered an Oktrackt, but while I wait, I'll around with this
Ha! I could have called this “I wish I had an Octatrack…” Beautiful machines, hope you enjoy yours!
Thank you sir!

unbelievable , you are gem! Link your music sir please if you have any published
Thanks so much! I’m pretty new to electronic music, so I only have a few studies posted here on TH-cam so far. Thanks for watching!
Gret video! But please remove the plaistic film on the screen, i don’t get it seriously Lol
How do you do pattern fade in and out of the midi loopback fx channel?
Sorry, I don’t think I understand the question.
@@humanprogram sorry I meant “on the midi loopback channel”
But I think I’ve realized you explain how to do everything you mentioned in the video

@@humanprogram Thank you for your quick response, but even when I activate delay, reverb, compressor, int and ext mixer in global fx it doesn't work?
@@humanprogram how can we apply the same filter pattern to all patterns in song or chain mode ?
@@astrosense4682 that depends on what you're trying to do exactly. I'd recommend asking this kind of question at the elektronauts forum.
