Thanks to all 3 of you for your contributions to this video .So much covered in an edited down to 24 mins package . i believe i heard Sophie mention on the RS podcast that she has her own Ping fitting coming up . Look forward to that . Many thanks again .
I was fitted for my current clubs back in 2002... I play the Titleist 690MB, 2-PW. They are all 1.25" longer, 1 degree upright... While I still like the feel and length, I would have liked 1 more degree upright... I'm not as limber as I were, and therefore would have linked a more upright club. I use jumbo sized grips and all shafts, except putter are TT Dynamic Gold S300... My woods are a Titleist 909D3 10.5 degree, 44" and a Titleist 913F3 16.5 degree 42.5"

Ping fitting and staff setup at Gainsborough are the best by far (I’ve tried a few manufacturers!). Wonderful for anyone considering purchasing golf clubs why fitting is so important to see and understand the process. Well done.
I was fitted at Ping recently for driver and fairway woods, Paul the Ping fitter had me hitting my own hybrids (Titleist) and my own woods (Ping 4 wood), and my gapping was good and he recommended not to change. What a great experience and a competely honest and valued opinion. I bought a driver and a 3 wood anyway, and I'm very pleased with the outcome, adding between 10 and 25 yards on my distance on the course, which given that it's winter and less roll is brilliant. Thanks Paul and Ping, I'm sure I'll be back for a putter fitting, and maybe irons too? 👍
Using both is the golden standard I think. TXG is a bit too enthusiastic about the optical launch monitor’s ability to extrapolate form the first few inches of ball flight to the actual ball flight. Like they do actually ball testing on a QC4 which yields pretty much nonsense results.
Watched this in bed last night on my tv so couldn't comment at the time. Fantastic video. Was envious of this Guy's 5 extra inches and his superior moustache. Then watching him play I wouldn't fancy giving him 5 shots in a knock out... Great swing. He will be back to a low handicap in no time. 🤔
I loved this video. Played for + 30 years. Still, until this day I haven't done any fitting myself. Always bought my clubs after hitting them on my own. This made me question why?! (Although I pretty sure George would have ended up with the same club if he would have bought them off the rack.) Perhaps different grip size and shaft length. Very interesting to see the process. Pretty sure I would end up with something different than the one I choose from my gut feelings. Next time I definitely going to find a good fitting center. Thanks for the help. This changed my mind! 👍😊
Went over to Ping a couple of times and each has been a great experience with good feedback and great discussion points to why the fitters are recommending the clubs they are. Would love to go back again for a iron fitting after seeing this video well done Mike & Ping

Great informed video. Been twice to Ping and fitted for i200's and woods by Paul R. Its a great day out and inexpensive. You will learn alot about your swing and you forgot to mention there is a beautiful golf course on site you can play too and make a day out of it.
Gone thru Ping fitting twice and each time I had to send my clubs back to be reduced! Never again! Got the impression that the pro just wanted to sell me anew set of clubs!
@@bnzstheboy6520 I got Ping G for the first time then the 410 about a year ago. Both sets needed to go back to have the lie and shaft reduced, in the case of the 410 from Green to Black, which is two steps. I am 5’5” and borderline on blue black and 0.25 inch shorter shaft. I was blocking/pulling all my shorter clubs left of target but was constantly told I would adjust. In the end, after six months, I got them adjusted and, miraculously, the pull disappeared! Credit to Ping it only cost the postage and they were very quick.
Awesome content !! The i210’s are on my wish list next year when i go for my custom fit along with Titleist T-100 , TM P-7MC’s and King Cobra Tour irons . Should really get it down to 2 models, I’ll see what the fitter recommends before i hit all 4
Question as someone who has never been fitted before. George has been used to playing with a Silver lie angle so it makes sense that his habits will force him to continue hitting as if the club is a silver until he has adapted, however during fitting when this shows they ditch the blue lie angle? When is the right time to try to set new habits?
Look for a TXG video called Does The Lie Board Lie? I got fit for my i15’s in green dot at Ping. Struggled for a year until I got them put to standard (black). Time for a change of irons though, but won’t go back to Ping if they still use this which it appears they do. I doubt they will miss me anyway 🙂
We fitted using the trackman also, Mike wanted the board also to double check. We also tried out a few different lie angles as dynamic and static lie often change

Surprised that swing weight was not discussed at all. When you lengthen a club as much as one inch, swing weight goes up and the club feels heavier. What would you have done if George had said - "this club feels a bit heavy for me" ?
I have a question regarding chasing distance in relation to trajectory and set configuration. I hit my short and mid irons really high, but sometimes struggle with peak hight with my 2-4 iron. If I would go with stronger lofts on my irons and include an extra wedge and hybrids, meaning irons 5-pw and 3 extra wedges plus one or two hybrids. Isn't it generally speaking easier to hit a stronger lofted iron which is shorter?
i had mine for a week, then sold them - but come to think of it, they were kinda nice, I had standard, and should have got the power... looks like i mite try the 1210 or PING BLUEPRINT
I'm kind of at a loss with all this "data" we now have in the Golf industry. My clubs are old, Adams Tight Lies, which I bought in 2006. I just started playing again after a 8-10yr break. The course nearest my home has a few Par 3's, 180-189 yds. Well, I hit my 8 iron 180-195 yds a few days ago on the 189yd Par 3 and pin high on the other 2 Par 3's which are 180yds. I can hit an easy 7 and be pin high as well. When I look that up to compare avg yardage with irons, I'm hitting my 8 in the PGA Tour range (160-200 yds)? Hold on...lol Im 58 yrs old?? So I just dropped my clubs off to get new grips (still had original ones lol) to see if that improves my game. I also had standard grips and should have been using Medium size instead. Now, my clubs obviously aren't as "forgiving" as all the new clubs, but IMO, working on a good swing is more important than using any GII's. And the reason I say this is because if you have a bad swing, and use a GII, are you really fixing anything other than letting your bad swing be hidden by that shiny new GII (game improvement iron)? Thoughts.....
If you wonna change the flight look at that attack angle first. Then look at new clubs. That attack angle not really mentioned but lessons needed to change that first in my opinion
That was pretty much my first thought. If I am reading the data right (always a problem) he was averaging 0.4 degrees up. For a 7i he needs to be more like 3 degrees down. That will change the launch angle down to around 18 degree. IMO he will regret going for a power loft if he changes the attack angle. The extra carry distance is a complete illusion - the stronger loft caused that. This is not a criticism of the i210s - I play them and love them. It is just that the better use of money for the golfer in the video would have lessons to fix the attack angle and only then consider changing clubs. Bearing in my the i500 was Pings first go at a hollow bodied iron it will interesting to see what improvements are made when it is replaced
15 yards on the i500 is strictly because the specs on that 7 iron are equivalent to his old i10 6 iron. Exactly the same. That length gain is an illusion.
Interesting video ,can you tell me what his 7 iron I10 spec was and the new club and make a comment on the distance actually gained as a result of the new club and not just the reduction in clubface angle
From the looks of it, the i10 7 iron standard loft was 34 degrees. The i210 power spec loft is 31.5 degrees. If these numbers are accurate, then the majority of the distance gain is due to the lower loft on the 210. However, those feel and accuracy gains (small sample size, I know) were real.
The i500 loft in power spec is 29 degrees, so the additional 8 yards above and beyond the power spec i210 is again mostly due to loft reduction. The i500 8 iron in power spec is stronger lofted than George's original 6 iron (30.5 degrees).
I had one yesterday free at my driving range with pings mobile fitter .. trackman and full options .. went for 5 to pw in g425 in blue dot with rbs regular shaft which is heavier stiffer side of regular

What a wonderful swing. All he neads now is rep's.
George, great tash mate
His swing had to learn upright to battle the old clubs. Adjust swing, not the static clubs imo
Didn't know company's still used lie boards. The boys at txg don't use them. I know Alex at orka golf definatly dosnt use them. Suprised a big company like ping still does.
They use the dynamic lie angle from trackman and then a board. Just think they like to do old school as well as technology
What a moustache!! Go on Georgie Boy, looks like he worked for Pablo Escobar in the 80’s
They could of used someone who was of average stature and speed
Is that Weird Al Jankovic's love child?
Excellent, how do you arrange this without upsetting your Professional, as they have all the expertise.
You buy the clubs through your professionals account. You can’t buy clubs directly from ping so the local pro doesn’t lose out
