- Who would have thought we would get this reaction! The size of this dog! its just so pure to see this type of rection from a dog and to understand how loving and caring they can actually be. They understand more than we give them credit. Teddy is an amazing and gentle giant! His ears are always back as a sign of submission, that's just the way he's always been. Even when he was 8 weeks old an he met Amelia at 6 months old, the sheer joy on his face was a delight to watch! Go check that video out too it's so wholesome!
The instinctive reaction of (most) dogs to infants is astounding really. I remember bringing my then puppy to see my friends newborn baby (pup was 3 months, baby was 2 weeks) and the calmness and personal restraint of the otherwise cannonball of a puppy was just amazing.

I raised 4 children on a horse ranch. I can’t convey how good our dogs were with our children. They were protectors, playmates , and at times disciplinarians when it was needed, all children should have a dog. As long as you are always attentive and are watching it’s a beautiful friendship and teaches children to care for their pets. Beautiful baby, best of luck !

My late partner and I rescued huskies, and they were so gentle and sweet with out cats, as well as the babies/children of our friends. I have no doubt that the dogs will be the baby's protectors and friends, especially that sweetheart Teddy!

I can understand being a little nervous about Teddy's reaction - it's entirely understandable. He's by far the most energetic of the three dogs, and he's the only one who hasn't done this before. But once again, we see how well-behaved your dogs are, and how well you've socialized them to understand what the boundaries are.
I love how Teddy does a similar thing to what Phil would do with baby Mia: laying down a couple of feet away from the baby and then stretching his neck to lean in and sniff. I think that shows how well the dogs understand their size, and that they want to be careful not to put their full weight right next to a baby who they understand is small and vulnerable.

The "well behaved" and "socialized" dogs have been brought up to behave as naturally as wolves, 'Wolfeson'.
This is exactly how a young wolf would behave around the matriarch and her cubs.

You're right - the social behaviors dogs have are what their wolf ancestors evolved, with the obvious difference that human breeders selected away from the more negative wolf behaviors. But wolves still need their pack members to teach them those social rules, and for domestic dogs, that primarily means their owners. Not all dog owners perform that job well, so I give credit to Shane and Emma for doing it very well with their pets.

Teddy is such an angel!! I remember watching videos of him with tiny Amelia and Buddy when he was small, and being so amazed at how gentle and aware he was of his size! Well done Shane & Emma Leigh: Teddy was a champ!! He stayed calm but you could see he was eager to check out BabyBrother, sniffing his feet, hands & head (when he could!). I fondly remember PhillyBear, Niko & Milo meeting Amelia & can’t wait to see their introductions to the newest pack member! ❤🥰
Lets hope Milo is a little quicker in accepting this time round. Took him 7 days last time to get used to Mia but when he did accept her he was the sweetest one of all.
Let's hope you understand the difference between humans and animals or in this case dogs. No this baby isn't their brother but if the woman video recording this has another child, if this is in fact their first child, then he will be an actual brother to a younger brother or sister.

@@bigj6143 I referred to the baby as BabyBrother because that’s what his almost 3-year-old sister called him. And having had several dogs & cats throughout my lifetime I DO understand the relationship differences between animals & humans.

So cool how huge animals know to be easy and calm around babies. My lab was just like that. He would not let my son out of his sight once we got him home. And when he became a toddler, no matter how much his ears were pulled, his tail, no matter how much he crawled over him he never once growled, snapped or even acted like he was angry. Then an hour later I found him sound asleep on him, both snoring. It was epic.
Tedster is very smart, he knows when to be gentle and when not to. It's unbelievable super elated Teddy is to meet his little brother. Lovely!!! Congratulations guys!!!

And, he is always calm and gentle when Mia is leading him around. Of course, extra restraint is necessary with a newborn, but I thought he would sense that under your guidance. Ted is such a gentle giant. we have seen this in his play with Mia, smaller dogs and puppies in the past, that he knows when to dial it back a little. he only goes full nuts with Major, Buddy, and Shane who can take his size and power.

Such a good dog. For a puppy being as calm as that is honestly all you can ask for when carrying a newborn. Of course he’ll still be himself most of the time but this was so cute! I think he realizes that the baby is precious to his owners.

When you mentioned Teddy trying to make himself smaller I couldn't help but think of all of the smaller/younger animals Teddy has played with on the channel. Even back when he was playing with Baby Buddy he was always aware of his size and was gentle with Buddy. I still remember Buddy being able to fit his whole head in Teddy's mouth back then, but they both made it fine. Teddy is a very good boy!

I can see similarities between Mia and Teddy with their first introduction to baby brother! Both were almost shaking with excitement and so nervous but eager. There were times when they couldn't stop themselves from reaching out but they still stayed so gentle 🥺♥
