I'm a malay but I had to google "recommend" for malay language and it came out "mengesyorkan". And of course I know that word but I couldn't come up with it immediately. Once I see the word, I remember it but because some of us don't use it in everyday life, u forget it
I see that some who commented here, even after viewing the entire video, still didn't get that what arisa and leo were trying to achieve was to be able to converse with the locals of the 3 races in casual daily situations, in particular when going out for a meal. Some automatically thought that any foreigner wanting to learn our languages would have to learn like malaysians do in schools, so they started to correct these two with formal words and phrases, even full sentences 😂 _Anyway, "sedap giler/gila" is mostly used by the young._ *But here's another one very very local, very very common way how a malay of any age group expresses how delicious a food is: Sedapnya! (or Sedapnyer!)* In casual/informal malay language, suffix "nya" is almost like the suffix "lah" in its importance and wide applications 😁 Other eg: panasnya /panas nya/ panas nyer, banyaknya /banyak nya /banyak nyer (instead of panas gila, banyak giler) Have fun! 😁👍

For Malay, I'm not sure the teacher has told you that the use of gila/crazy is not appropriate among strangers or in formal setting...otherwise this word is very useful if you want to add some effect to your speech.. Tamil is difficult and content about this language in Malaysia is not widely accessible

My family are Malaysian Chinese and basically we have the same accent/culture as Taiwanese. We have the same language as Taiwanese, Hokkien which is not really spoken in China. We really like Japan as well.
Speaking of Malay, a lot of Chinese Malaysian actually use banyak for "very" instead of sangat or gila. Like banyak sedap, banyak panas(hot), banyak mahal(expensive) etc etc😂
Malay has formal words/ daily words/ young people words.. example "panas giler" it's young people words not good use for talk with old people.. Daily words "panas sangat ni"...

'ni hao' wasnt 'the standard way' to greet someone. its the least used among chinese. unless you greeting the elders such as grandpa or grandma. the most common way to greeting someone is by ask, 'what you doing recently?', 'have you eat already?'
Most of the time, Malays usually easily understood what non native speaker say, even they pronounce it a little bit far from the actual pronunciation. Compare to other races, even the pronunciation almost accurate, they still didn't understand. I don't know, if they are genuinely not understand what we say, or it's just their ego. This is based from my own experience and what I saw in real life or video in social media when non native speaker try to communicate in other language.

To me Korean's easier to me as Japanese since there are so many words we share similar pronunciation and there's not a lot of characters to remember! For Chinese, though it's really difficult in terms of tones, # of characters, words, but still easier compared to other languages since we know basics of Hanzi(Kanji), consider faster we can learn:)
Its depend.not all are talented.some 40 percents do not utilized its skilled.just working or stay in respective places. Productivity malaysian lower thn most of developed country.top 10 in developing countries. Please dun follow malaysian laziness or lack of productivity in work or businesses.🙂🙂🙂
That’s talent for sure! I feel like Malaysians are really incredible.. majority of the people are bilingual. Other countries only speak one language, and usually those who can speak more, they purposely take extra classes for it
