The tips and advice in this book really make me feel seen and understood in a way that the usual brand of advice for ADHDers simply doesn’t. How many times have I heard “use a planner” or “you just have to apply yourself”… whereas this book seems to say “your brain works different, and I got you, and I’ll meet you right where you are.” ❤
@@Septa7Seven Geeze! That is exactly what I was thinking… with a pack of cards too… I would just end up wasting time going through this and doing nothing!!! It feels overwhelming 😮 300 pages? 😢
I’ve never been diagnosed with adhd or anything, but procrastination is my all-time struggle and this book appears to have an answer for every manifestation of it that I struggle with, so I’ve just found my next birthday gift
I am not diagnosed with ADHD, but I really want this planner/guidebook, as a lot of us, without ADHD still have moments where we feel completely distracted and unmotivated. The price is kind of high, but because this is more like a book or a workbook in a reference manual that I can use over and over again through my emotions through my entrepreneur ship in projects… I think that’s a pretty good price ! I mean, it’s got an absolutely gorgeous cover with colorful interior. Little tip… If you use the pilot frixtion pens, you can write & erase to reuse this every year to work through your new goals & projects
I always wonder how much of this is really ADHD specific. I know I have ADHD but I've never felt terribly different. It always seemed like most people struggle worth overwhelm etc. And it seemed like the people who don't just had strategies to deal with these issues.
Me too! I've been feeling overwhelmed constantly in the last year or so which just kills my motivation and creativity. I'm sold just on that card game part haha
I once heard someone say they write down 3 weeds and 3 seeds. The weeds being things she MUST do. The seeds being things she wants to get done. She did this every night for the following day. I do it on Sunday and apply it to my week. My physical and mental health is slowing letting me work my way up. I have to be nice to myself at this point in life.
When you watch this at 1.75x... oops but also bullet journals were basically made for people like us, it just because nice and pretty and neurotypical after... and it made me feel so much better learning how it was supposed to be at first and not how social media pictured it. Thanks for this, Jesse!
I got caught on the social media bullet journal train, spent loads of time making it all beautiful and designing daily pages, to-do lists and trackers and loads of money on different planners, stickers and pens.... I had a great time but I just used it to procrastinate even more and achieved absolutely nothing 🙈 I've never been diagnosed but stumbled across these videos and relate so much with everything being said
@@quinnS870 I absolutely hated how the social media bullet journal train wreaked the Bullet Journal. I couldn't compete with the expensive journals, stickers, special textas and fonts. Ryder Carroll's bullet journal is just brilliant... I don't know what those extremely rigid, time consuming spreads are, literally all they did was steal the catchy name because they're completely antithetical to the point of bullet journals. I have a friend who calls her book review journal a bujo just because it's dot grid paper and she makes the layout by hand. ... Anyway.

Hey Jesse. As someone who has been diagnosed with ADHD just last year, I want to thank you for the great advice you've been giving. While I am on medication to help, I never really felt like it was helping, but listening to you has been the greatest eye opener I have EVER had. I am now 42 years old, and I feel I've gotten the best advice from the right person. From the bottom of my heart, thank you very much. *“Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you.”* - _Princess Diana_
Such an awesome book. I am interested. I also have to say, as an Adhder - a timer is my friend! I have a smart watch and I constantly put on a timer..I use Pomodoro technique modified. This helps me be aware of the time and also if I am doing something I don’t really like, it helps me know there is a limit to that activity.
Ugh, I'm the opposite. I thoroughly dislike the pomodoro thing. I haven't quite worked out why I dislike it so much, though. Maybe because it's been hyped up so much and therefore there's this feeling of "If you don't take this technique on board, you're doing productivity all wrong." And I am so not down with feeling shamed. So my brain processes immediately turn into the "anti-bandwagon." I mean, it's cool if it works for other people. Just don't expect me to embrace an uber-hyped productivity thing just because "everyone is doing it." Yep, my neurodivergent brain is one helluva rebel. 🤣🤣
@@a.katherinesuetterlin3028 That’s fine..I didn’t like it either and I’m not actually doing the exact thing. But I do a version of russian roulette with my tasks and a timer. Like: I have a bunch of tasks in a row and I set my timer for 30 minutes and then do the tasks, take a break and totate the tasks. In a way, it’s better if you do one task in a single go with no interruptions…but what I found is that my brain gets overwhelmed and anxious if I have to do a hard task and I think I have to spend hours on end on it…so thinking there is a time limit to the activity helps me go on and break that hesitance. But, sometimes I do spend hours on a task if I got the ball rolling and it’s working.
@@ap3008 Ah, okay. I understand a bit better now that you explained your twist on things, and it's a very creative twist. My apologies if what I said seemed overly triggered at first. 😓 I do have "anti-bandwagon" tendencies...at least with some things. And then I feel overly defensive where I don't need to be, because there's a part of me that still sort of gets hypervigilant about feeling shamed. 🤦♀️
@@a.katherinesuetterlin3028 I totally understand you because I think I am similar...I didn't have a problem with your comment and you are entitled to your preference as well! I need this so badly. I always pick up hobbies and then stop for months because I don't feel like doing them or for some other reason. It would be nice to have a tool that gives me some motivation to continue or maintain new hobbies
"Your worth is not measured by your productivity." I didn't know I needed to hear that until I did. God, I've been so wound up, hearing that just suddenly made me want to cry. It's such a bad feeling to feel useless because of being scared of a process. Thanks for popping up on my feed.
I'm amazed time and again when I come across someone talking like they are me in a different body- the struggles, the things that spark them, etc. that seem to be so universal for ADHD brains. I love how so many are sharing their tools hoping they can help others that struggle - thank you to all of you that put yourself out there to do this. This Non-planner sounds like an ADHD cheer squad - by giving us a new way to tackle a challenge - for each challenge we face - to keep us moving in the right direction. I have 2 weeks until we have a new management company that changed our one page lease to a 47 page lease with HOA like restrictions for our home rental, do an inspection - so I need this book yesterday :) I can have nothing outside my home, and only 3 house plants now - wish me luck!
The breaking tasks down but not to the micro detail is a great tip. Having the big point allow you to see anything which could need advance planning but not bogged down in every little detail.
My Virgo and Scorpio sides love details and want to micromanage everything. My Aries and Sagittarius sides balk and say "F that! Details are overwhelming!" My poor Libra side throws up her hands in indecisiveness and wants to hand everything over to my Pisces side, who will happily drag all those micromanage-y notes to where even Poseidon can't find them (escapist mode majorly activated.). This non-planner is the perfect tool to throw an exception into that awful "if-then" loop (coders, you know what I mean). 😁😁
This book is really cool. I just ordered a copy! I have not been diagnosed with ADHD, but usually feel overwhelmed with tasks that I need to complete. I have become a super procrastinator! I usually purchase a planner every year and by the end of the year I have not accomplished anything and end up feeling depressed and worthless.
As someone with ADD, this notebook is a good inspiration. I have a Notion page with only a few main goals: a library for things and spare stuff for writing random stuff, which I make suitable for myself. But these videos inspire me more! Thanks, Jesse, for previewing this product!
I ordered directly after the video without caring about the price because this is a lifetime product that can help you with your ADHD and it has a lot of strategies included which would took a lot of time and effort to find them yourself.
This is actually great, I don't have ADHD but I tend to procrastinate a lot, just after watching the video and checking some pages of the book in the website I got motivated to clean my bedroom. I think I'll get myself one copy of the book to try the actvities
my favorite notebook for keeping track of my stuff, random lists, sketches, ideas, lists on random days.... is a smaller version of this notebook, with the rings. I LOVE the metal rings so much more than a spiral. Pages stay in and it's easy to flip through. I need this for Christmas!
This looks amazing! As someone who has diagnosed GAD and can get overwhelmed easily this seems like it would be great for me and others who have anxiety or just anyone who gets overwhelmed easily or just doesn't know where to start in general. So even though I don't have ADHD although I have a lot of family members who do (like my sister who I'm fairly certain this will help as well and I will be getting this as a present for her in the future) I will be getting this for myself.
OK, so you convinced me to get this book, it looks like EXACTLY what I need. In fact I was looking for something like this but hadn’t found anything like it. Unfortunately it’s on backorder till April, and it’s a bit expensive…but I think I will use it all the time, and it’s the kind of book you can keep forever. Also, apparently when you pre-order she is going to email some pages you can use while you’re waiting for the book. So anyway I ordered one. Thanks for your review!
Dani is amazing & that anti-planner looks amazing. I cannot wait to get my hands on one🙌 That card game looks so fun and is making my brain tingly just thinking about tackling work that way!💕
Hey ADHD Jesse. I had to pause at one point in the video because as I was listening, I just felt so called out. Like saying "you hit the nail on the head" is an understatement of how much I related to pretty much EVERYTHING you've said in the video. I just want to thank you for what you're doing and sharing to help people like us struggling to get control back in our lives.
I don't have ADHD but I believe this would work great for me since I have problems with procrastinating (I'm often stressed and overwhelmed with stuff, which leads to me procrastinating). When it comes to this I can easily get distracted since I want quick help, not reading a 4 page long text, I can easily read long texts without getting distracted but I know myself that with books like this it isn't the same.
You just made me buy it :) I honestly thought I was stupid, I thought I was useless except to my family but you made me feel like I am actually brilliant :)
The book is $48 (early bird price $43). That's pricey. Shipping is *$17.99!* 🤯 That's $63.99 ($58.99). Add tax for some states. Sounds like a great book, but with the shipping being 37.5% (nearly 42% of early bird price), the book becomes unaffordable for some. I get she has to make money, but an $18 shipping fee is insane. ☹️
this is a lifetime product that can help you with your ADHD and it has a lot of strategies included which would took a lot of time and effort to find them yourself.
The shipping is really pricy, but it's something that's out of the creator's control. Shipping costs for large books were already really high, especially for cases like this where it's self-published so there's no leverage to negotiate volume discounts with the shipper. Since covid, shipping costs have skyrocketed for all products, and it's really hurt a lot of small businesses. All that to say, the shipping cost is out of the author's hands and is likely the best price they were able to find.
Thank you for this review! I'm planning to get one, however I might wait for a digital version of it (Dani has stated in the FAQs that she's planning on also releasing a digital version) since I want to have a copy on-the-go on my phone and ipad.

literally first minute in, when you said how great it is that it's a ring binder, I've never felt more understood!! I won't even buy a notebook if it doesn't stay open flat without force anymore, ring binders are always an automatic plus, or else I've just stare at the pretty hard cover spine and never use it

Immediately clicked the link to buy this, but it’s still preorder only. It was supposed to be released Nov. 30th and it’s now Dec. 10th. Then I saw the $17.99 shipping charge. Seriously? For a book? Where is this shipping from, the international space station? Excitement quickly shifted to disappointment. Maybe Amazon will offer it eventually.

I thought about that non-planner a long time. (And I forgot, and remembered, and forgot...) Anyway. I ordered it now. Was very impulsive. I paused the video right in its tracks and my rational thinking was: You should watch the video first. I watched it afterwards and I am now very excited. I'll probably forget about it, once it arrives, but that's fun, too.
Y’all Watch this video at .75 speed. For me, I always feel like my mind is racing and having a fast rushing heartbeat. So listening to him speak a bit slower is soothing and helps my mind therefore my breathing slow down and relax. I feel like I absorb what he’s saying better too bc he speaks with urgency.
I don't know if I have ADHD or autism, but I'm gonna start making use of their strategies, it can only be for good... I have a long history with procrastination, long history with sensibility to loud noises, long history with videogames being the root of my procrastination (but not limited to). Also, long history having trouble to socialize or keep any sort of social life and quality friendships, I've had issues with attention, etc. More than one of those things relate to either ADHD or autism, so yeah, I'm just going to start taking advantage of this stuff
It was a bit of a splurge for me, but I just have been super unmotivated and haven’t gotten anything done this year, so I feel like this might help me. I am hoping….!
This sound like something I would look for 3 days and then forget about or probably start to hate because of the stress it gives to open or trow out because it didn't work at all
I've been told I'm a 'productive procrastinator' in that I will do other tasks that could be done at a later time rather than the task that is at hand. Are there strategies for that, too?

Once you've looked through the whole thing, you can start using it properly. (Like a dictionary.)
Careful with those pens! HEAT erases them. I had two notebooks wiped out because I didn't know I couldn't leave them in a hot car.
thank you for that tip! I love using those pens and I can always redo the activities
I always wonder how much of this is really ADHD specific. I know I have ADHD but I've never felt terribly different. It always seemed like most people struggle worth overwhelm etc. And it seemed like the people who don't just had strategies to deal with these issues.
@@BlacknessWirefly put them in the freezer and they’ll come back… along with anything you erased, but better than nothing!
I had a great time but I just used it to procrastinate even more and achieved absolutely nothing 🙈
I've never been diagnosed but stumbled across these videos and relate so much with everything being said
@@quinnS870 I absolutely hated how the social media bullet journal train wreaked the Bullet Journal. I couldn't compete with the expensive journals, stickers, special textas and fonts. In fact, that Font is everywhere like Comic Sans used to be, and I hate the sight of it. > ; )
I'm going back to the original bullet journal and plain notebook.
Ewww, hate bullet journals. Not sure how people do it
Ryder Carroll's bullet journal is just brilliant... I don't know what those extremely rigid, time consuming spreads are, literally all they did was steal the catchy name because they're completely antithetical to the point of bullet journals. I have a friend who calls her book review journal a bujo just because it's dot grid paper and she makes the layout by hand. ... Anyway.
@@Heyu7her3 bruh you better not be meaning the real bullet journal
This looks like it would also be good for those of us with a mix of anxiety and OCD too.
Hearing people talk about adhd makes me kind of emotional. So many things about myself that thought were weird I’m finding out is just part of having adhd. 🥺 A lot of the things I’ve been so self conscious about I’m learning is actually pretty common. I mean, I’m still weird 😹 But I feel like I can finally relate to other people now. ❤️
This looks like it hits that delicate balance between looking interesting and not feeling like you're being talked down to
This book feels a little bit like therapy. I’m definitely adding it to my Christmas gift ideas.
I haven't been diagnosed with ADHD but the more videos I see about it the more of myself I see...the thing is trying to maybe convince my parents to get me diagnosed🤔 I NEED this book in my life!
Expectation -> Bare Mimimum. I love it!!
Take all my dough. And serious props for actually getting this done😅
I own this (preordered it early so first batch) but had been too intimidated to dive in, and your overview and seeing you flip through it really helped break down that barrier! Thank you. 💜
Did you also have to pay $17 in shipping? I really want this book but I don’t want to pay $60+ to get it😢
@@SophiaSong I just checked the price because I'm in Australia. The US. price has come down to $43 + $10.99 postage. So $54.00. More for overseas. It is still on pre-order. Maybe it will come down a bit when fully published. Or buy with a friend or family member? Whenever I want something I can't afford, which is often, I save the money up by skipping other things- take away, chocolate, other small stuff I otherwise might buy. Maybe you could make coffee at home, or bring your own lunch, or some other idea. Plenty of budget hacks on YT.
@@deefee701 thanks for the tips! I just checked and shipping is still $17 for me. It’s not the money that’s the issue, it just bothers me that I’m not paying for the actual product, but instead being charged an obscene amount to get it in my hands. Hopefully shipping will go down soon!
@@deefee701 actually now it’s 17.99 LOL
@Caitie Sith How long did it take to get shipped to you? I saw her recent update saying it'd be here at the end of November but it's now november u_u

I would love a digital version of this! I have been using digital planners for the past few years now.
I’m trying to choose a digital planner for 2023. Are there any you would recommend?
keep in mind, this isn't a planner. It's a strategy guide, basically, for people who have trouble planning.
There's a pdf version now, just in case you haven't bought it yet :)
0:21 The most relatable part is your desk! It makes me feel better about my physical chaos.
Looks great but $18 for shipping put it out of reach for me. Really enjoyed your excitement during the show -- it is inspirational.
I am hoping to find a coupon code somewhere. There's a spot to input one on the rder form, so there should be a code out there somewhere?
Same here. Hope it will be on Amazon soon, to save some shipping cost
I just accepted that its actually a 60 dollar book
@@judyh3707 *$92 AUD birthday present for my sister.
The main reason for procrastination is that we watch a lot such videos instead of real actions without feeling guilty
Maybe pomodoro just doesn't work out for you and it annoys you..."Hypervigilant about feeling shamed"-that probably comes from somewhere...and I think I understand...Hey, I think you probably are not giving yourself enough credit.
Casey sent me here. Thank you Jesse for introducing us to this book!
Dear Jesse, that is a nice umm workbook. Can you do an update after several months of using it? thanks in advance.
The opening page made me cry lol. That's so nice. I always think im so bad because of how my ADHD affects my life.
this book sounds like it would really help me take control in my life instead of stay in frozen executive dysfunction
Thank you so much for being there! 🎉
I cannot wait to get my hands on one🙌 That card game looks so fun and is making my brain tingly just thinking about tackling work that way!💕
This book oozes practicality! Can't wait to get my hands on a copy of it.
Bro, I‘m 14. I go on TH-cam. I tap on the video, because of the design and immediately afterwards it solves 5 problems of my life lol. Tyvm!!!
Shipping is *$17.99!* 🤯
That's $63.99 ($58.99).
@@igotsickieatlight The book is pricey but MAY be worth it. The shipping is out of line.
@@internetuser7156 now I regret ordering it, typical impulse buy from me 🤦🤦🤦
The shipping is really pricy, but it's something that's out of the creator's control.
Buy yourself a ring notebook and put the tabs yourself
Oh wow a book about how to stop procrastinating! I’ll just buy it later, I’m busy rn.
This is a real gem, for me the visual deadlines worked the best.
Newly diagnosed with ADHD at 47. This looks so helpful!!
Thank you for this review! I'm planning to get one, however I might wait for a digital version of it (Dani has stated in the FAQs that she's planning on also releasing a digital version) since I want to have a copy on-the-go on my phone and ipad.
I LOVE the way you showed us how you made space in the desk ☺️
Omg. The thing I didn’t know I needed but realize I’ve needed my whole life!!! Runs off to purchase … Thank you for this review! I have NEVER been able to stick to a planner/journal/bullet anything… this appeals to my creative brain for sure. The permission component you mentioned? I feel so seen and understood, haha.
I second that emotion on the permission thing. 😅
THANK YOU! WITHOUT THIZ VIDEO I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO FIND THIS BOOK I NEED IT WERE ORDERING IT!🤩
literally first minute in, when you said how great it is that it's a ring binder, I've never felt more understood!! I won't even buy a notebook if it doesn't stay open flat without force anymore, ring binders are always an automatic plus, or else I've just stare at the pretty hard cover spine and never use it
"your worth is not measured in productivity" no, i didnt cry when i read that. i just have allergies. I wish this was available for india. Sadly if we order from foreign countries the parcels always get lost in "customs". meaning theyre stolen. I really hope they release a digital printout version.
Ok, this is a life changer, just need a $100 to get it and that's great motivation to start working NOW
Sounds intriguing. 💡 Thanks for walking us through it and explaining how it might be used. 🙌🏾😊
The sheer size of this book is overwhelming for me 😮

The algorithm brought me here and I'm so glad it did. I just ordered.
This is one of those rare things I see in a YT vid, and will actually buy!
Thanks for the thumb through!
I really like using a deck of cards to decide - I have quite a few decks, purchased for the designs or oracle purposes, but I don’t use them - so, this gives me a reason to pull out a different deck daily, weekly or just when I feel like changing it up. I’ll get double the novelty dopamine out of this strategy 😂

Super cool And the greatest relatable moment for me is you sweeping all the, uh, "stuff" off your desk to make room for the book. 100% ADD life.
i just watched your most popular video on youtube, completely by chance, just 20 minutes ago. i had no idea i might have ADHD, but i am convinced i do, ad everything just makes sense immediately... wow! already bought your book for my kindl and i hope you will continue your channel... because your last video ist from 10 months ago (NO PRESSURE of course)!
This seems like a life-saver.
Dude the design of this book is so fun and interesting, it's beautiful and tempting simply because of how they made it. That's kind of incredible. Like they change up the layout so often. It's pretty neat. Thanks for sharing, never would have heard of it otherwise.
I wish this book was available as an ebook! Its a bit cumbersome to a carry it around physically but I'd love to use it as an online reference for my bullet journal.
Saw the title. Added to Watch Later Playlist. Productivity. 🙃
I pre-ordered this. I do not have ADHD, but I am the master of procrastination. Great walk through.
i just bought it, that shipping was a bit steep but your video sold it for me. Im excited to get it, just in time to start my spring semester. Thank you, youtube algorithm :)
I know you’re talking about adhd, but I’m looking at this book in terms of depression and anxiety and it seems pretty cool

I'm really impressed! I have BP2 and many of the things you describe I also experience, including trouble with decision making and little things, like cleaning or paperwork.
I have BP2 as well! ❤
Dang you!!! I really need exactly this at present (really struggling even more than usual thanks to the Adderall shortage 💔), so I immediately went to order and....they are only doing pre-orders, with current orders shipping out Summer 2023. 😭
The irony of the associated delay is not lost on me.

Procrastinating right now!
Thanks for this review! This book keeps popping up and I had no idea why everyone was so jazzed about. I get it now! And now I need to get it! Thanks! 😊
This seems perfect for me as someone with AuDHD I feel like this something I need in my life I wish there’s was something like this out there for autism as well
hitting the "watch later" on this felt so iconic that i actually had to drop by right now just to share the moment
$17.99 shipping is absolute robbery but I can't wait for it to stock in a traditional store. I'm dying and this could be a life preserver.
Thanks for the review. I didn’t even finish the video! LOL I ordered through your link. Hope to see more videos like this. First time I’ve seen you. Adhd is a blessing and a curse but having the anti-planner will help me with my not so anti-planner planning system, which is decorative in nature which I love doing.
Cheers to you!
I actually love forwards & intros! And the little epilogues or “last notes” type of endings…😂😁
This is great! I just placed my order and I had just gotten to 3:45 on your video. Watched the rest and subscribed.
I need this not-a-planner thing. I love having alternatives, and delving into "why tf am I not feeling motivated?"
I can't wait for mine to come! Thanks for sharing. This is exactly what i have been looking for.
Ordered! Set me back quite a bit what with shipping cost (and NC state sales tax), but it looks like it will be worth it. ❤️
Yeah, the total, includingshipping, has given me pause!
It was a bit of a splurge for me, but I just have been super unmotivated and haven’t gotten anything done this year, so I feel like this might help me. I am hoping….!
Your enthusiasm is contagious 💕
I love your energy about this anti- planner!! ❤
Thanks! Amazing flip through. May have just changed everything!
Wow this looks like a great video to help me with my procrastination! *Adds to watch later*
What the WHAT! I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE! BRILLIANT! I'm going to order 3! I can hardly wait!
