@@JWLSports Nobody was hyping Caleb as strong as Nick Wright was. Remember even early in the 2023 season Nick was putting Caleb on “Mahomes Mountain” placing him as a top 10 NFL QB already.

Part of me thinks it's possible for the Bears to be successful this season. But there's another part of me that remembers all the epic failures around Chicagos QB development in the past. It's so bad that I think if they had drafted Mahomes instead of Tribisky he would not be the legendary player he has become.
Your concern is valid. I've maintained that if the Bears had drafted Lamar instead of Baltimore there is little chance Lamar has two MVPs. Fields profiled very similar to Lamar when he was drafted and look at the results. Lamar was not a highly rated passer either and not as good a runner as Fields. Chicago is where QBs go to retire from the NFL early.
He seems to have a much better team around him than Fields or Trubisky 🤷🏻♂️. Past is the past doesn’t mean anything imho. Every year we hope for a winner usually false hope 🤷🏻♂️… but this year we have reason to feel that way. Going to be a fun season 🐻🔽

What happened in the past is that, the past. Ryan Poles had no control over the element that was here prior to him, he's brought elite talent to surround Caleb Williams with, there has never been a first overall pick with as much as Caleb Williams has going into a season, he will have growing pains and has an elite defense and special teams to alleviate some of those, I see a bright future here in Chicago for Caleb, he has the right GM to get talent for him on offense and they have a solid team around him. Justin Fields was not gonna win a Super Bowl here this season may have won more games Caleb this year had he stayed with this offense. But he missed too many throws throwing to the wrong receiver when he wasn't throwing to DJ Moore or Kmet and just missed too many opportunities to move the ball effectively with 2:00 minutes remaining, those are the reasons they're moving on from him and legitimately feel that Caleb is the guy who's gonna take them to another level offensively that they've never seen before in Chicago.
