Did the same thing....three times, to nurse home my '99 Civic....60+miles on I-5. It bleeds the heat off and my SKY high engine temp/MAX....was back to Normal w/in 2min. easy.
When you start to over heat always turn your heater on full blast. This will help for awhile until you can stop. My Father taught me this when I started driving. I just did this 3 weeks ago.
Had overheating issues w/ my '99 Civic; ended up having to replace radiator, three sensors, three shops, $1000+. Never assume your Radiator fluid is ok; always check your Coolant Return tank level and Radiator- I look at mine monthly, and ALWAYS before/during any road trip. And, trick: Overheating Engine: Turn on your Heater/Max/Max Fan....and it will bleed off the excessive heat. Helpful on hill climbs also.
I am glad you got your van fixed. Temperature issues are tricky and it can be any number of things which can be frustrating to pin point. I was in Charleston last week and we went up to Central North Carolina and the Outer Banks and outside of the times it rained it was hot and humid. Safe travels and as always your videos are amazing.

You can use a strong leather belt on the fuel filter to tighten or loosen same goes for oil filters. If you ever get stuck again let us no I might be able throw you some ideas I'm good at fixing cars truck on the side rd ben there a bunch of times lol btw if your ever around ct or tri state area would 😉. But had it not happened who knows how long you would have been driving with fuel leaking everywhere….. when changing an oil filter or fuel filter you should check for leaks right after…. As you now know…. I see you scraped up the new filter with the pliers…. You do not use pliers to tighten an oil or fuel filter… you get it hand tight and that’s it….. if you over tighten it… it can leak…. Also the wall of the filer is weakened now where you scraped it up…. Anyway I’m glad your up and running…. Your a brave girl…. If you ever make it up to Maine I’d love to meet you…

Thats the whole point of living in your vehicle as aye qualified mechanic your going to get aye lot of problems so my advise is to get the vehicle serviced every 3 months or every 3000ks and you should be sweet🙂 but if i were there ill fix it myself its aye pretty easy thing to do if you know what your doing🤗

I'm living in a Ford e150 van in Florida. The heat and humidity are an issue. I may get air conditioner and generator for worst in summer.

I don’t understand how a fuel filter can raise the temperature in your van? I would think it was a temperature gauge, radiator radiator hose.

Start looking for oil leaks up higher on engine especially around valve covers ,oil filter housing rear main seal and front main seal..good luck buddy

literally the simplest thing 🙈 A new fuel filter & the fuel water separator device on bottom needed proper tightening - that was causing the leak
