Yeah, if they were claiming to speak his conlang while spouting gibberish that would be offensive. But they are specifically wanting to not use his language - or any language for that matter - for the purpose of the specific sketch. And they are not wrong - if he were proposing a series or something else longer term, then he might be able to justify forcing everyone to learn a conlang. But for one sketch, it’s kinda overkill.

I feel like this for german somehow, and once I was telling some 30 english speakers about some distinction in a different language between an intervocalic d͡z and t͡s and not one of them heard the difference between the two sounds
edit, this needs context: if you know about the dynamics in music, mezzo- is pronounced in english as /ˈmɛt͡soʊ/, but in italian, which it approximates, it's /ˈmɛd.d͡zo/, making one think the actual english approximation would be /ˈmɛd͡zoʊ/, and interestingly as well, /met.t͡so/ in italian, though rare, can mean overripe or soggy. "soggy-piano", then a native italian speaker proceeded to not hear the difference at all and completely tell me that's not what mezzo (/ˈmɛd.d͡zo/) meant. Obviously, they were never educated in italian so they never knew the rare word, but it was still shocking that a native italian speaker doesn't hear that sort of difference

@@mr.scatman3131 No, look it up. The girl with the green hair used to live in the Netherlands for a while (also she has an Dutch ex-girlfriend). There is literally a street in Amsterdam called the Gibraltarstraat which she probably remembered from her time staying there. But yes, most Dutch people would only recognise ''Straat van Gibraltar'' since that's a bit more iconic than a random street in Amsterdam. I think that's what also influenced the direction of the sketch since she still remembered the pronounciation a bit (even though it still has an English accent). Her pronounciation is on point besides the fact that Dutch native speakers have no problem with the ''G'' which English speakers find a bit more difficult. You can she see she is using an exaggerated way of moving her mouth to pronounce the G (might just be for the sketch tho?). She also ends ''Gibralterstraat'' with a ''th'' sound while it should just end with ''t''.
