I loved "I'm... not a neurosurgeon?"
Chase put on such a good act with trying to be a neurosurgeon for a good minute
Thing is, by what was said in the scene, he **is** a Neurosurgeon. If you've done a residency in a specialty, you are that type of specialist.
Board certification is an extra credential - plenty of specialists are not board certified and are still very much licensed in their specialty.
"Next time ... avoid responsibility" Words to live by
sure is lmfao
“Woodstock, baby ✌️” is by far my favorite part of this episode lol
Im glad they have such rigorous standards to ensure neurosurgeons are ready to do brain surgery
They are much higher irl don't worry. Or at least mildly higher
Having a neurosurgeon who can perform neurosurgery is not exactly a rigorous standard
i think they were just making sure he was actually the neurosurgeon they said he was, they already had the documentation
@@brandonmcglocklin9040 At first I read this as the neurosurgeons are much higher on drugs irl, which would track with my experience of going to college with a dude who was constantly drunk and high, who is now a legit neurosurgeon.
15.4% of surgeons would be considered having a substance problem and it's only growing.
Btw you don’t need a neurosurgeon for the ER to be open. The most they can do is temporarily lower the trauma level to level 2 temporarily, meaning they can get a neurosurgeon to cover if need be. It doesn’t make sense to close the entire ER for a few edge cases. Source: I’m an EMT
Yeah but uhhhh... something something TV Drama.
EMT trained at the redundant school of redundancy
But if they temporarily lower the trauma level temporarily, would it just be temporary, meaning not forever?
@@remisteele8904 As in, not permanent, but only for a brief yet undefined period of time?
I was thinking about that and that makes way more sense
Why would you move a ton of patients to multiple other hospitals when you could just have 1 extra neurosurgeon just go there and handle things?
Thought that was Larry David tbh.
Me too
or Jeff DeMunn or Jeffrey Tambor.
Same
You mean it wasn't?

"Dr. Cuddy's first assignment was for me to get to know everything about Dr. House's team... and not to believe anything any of them told me."
Chase : I'm... not a neurosurgeon? 😂😂😂
Good thinking, Chase😂
I always hated that assistant XD
Points for trying.
They should make another season with chase md
FOR REAL
Chase is my fav! I love how he’s the Intensivist
Yes send me the petition
Yes!!!! Oh man, other shows would even compare to how awesome that would be!!! Chase running the department while maybe having a family, while balancing having new interns to train! ❤❤
It's what house was molding him to be an we been asking for years now sadly we may never get it
3:35-“I can…hear you.” 😂😂😂😂
That line was so perfectly delivered, too.
'you know flourescent lights flicker at the same frequency as the human brain' and taubs response 'the human brain doesn't flicker' is one of my favourite quotes from this whole show. idk why, but i say it all the time and no one knows wtf im talking about 😂
"I'm... uhm... getting mixed signals"
“Freedom is my birthright” 😂 eren agrees
Tatakae tatakae 😮

Something about this episode showing House's fun, silly side was so hilarious! Lol ❤
House pouring all of that random stuff in the bathtub while talking to Chase is HILARIOUS!!
@hollyb6885 And he said all of what he told Chase to do like it was a top secret mission😂 I wish they showed House's "magical bath" scene with Cuddy lol
@@ashleybeverly7328 IKR. Their conversation in the bathtub caused me pain. 😂😂
I wish we got to see more between Chase and 13. They were a fun duo and deserved to be explored more
Well hey, Chase made a halfway decent attempt to explore himself and Thirteen

When Chicago Fire ends.
Enough with the spin-offs. Don't ruin the legacy of this show.
Prepare hospital for...ludicrous speed!
As someone who has ondansetron on a regular basis, the premise of it causing these side effects is beyond hilarious 😂 Or maybe he just got the good stuff...
I had severe food poisoning while traveling, and needed to be stabilized to get my flight home. It wasn’t the ondansetron that got me high… it was the diphenoxylate, which was for the diarrhea. Diphenoxylate is an opioid, and they mix it with atropine to prevent abuse. “May have narcotic effect“; yeah, I was on the train going to SeaTac and I was like wow… This must be the narcotic effect.
It doesn't work for me
@five-toedslothbear4051 Diphenoxylate is basically one of the weakest opioids there is, I doubt you got high from that. Maybe the difenoxin (principal metabolite of diphenoxylate) could give you a buzz, but I’ve taken it before and I think it’s much more likely that it was the atropine (a deliriant hallucinogen in high doses) that got you high.
It turned out it was the toad eggs he ate at the seafood festival that both made him nauseated *and* got him high.
@@Sniperboy5551good to know😊
Prepare hospital for ludicrous speed!
"What's the matter, Colonel Sanders? _Chicken?"_
@@wobby1268 I think house would find himself surprisingly at home in that ship, in the hospital he's already surrounded by assholes, so what's the difference? 😜
@@japanlovesyou True, dat! 😂
Come on, Chase, Thirteen is way too old for you! She went through third grade decades ago! Plus, she doesn't even have cancer!
Chase and 13 had so much chemistry 😂
lol wait, isn't Foreman a neurosurgeon ?
No. He was a neurologist. The show played loose and wild with surgeries often, but Foreman wasn't a neurosurgeon.
They should have had a spinoff "Chase M. D.".
Chase quit and because an EMT

These comments are like a breath of fresh air. Thank you for the kind words.
I’m guessing 13 was happy he looked past her illness and was still interested. She seemed very pleased he showed interest.
I mean, they straight up just cured him and he's completely fine. He's not even just stable he's just ok now.
Larry David?!
It's George Wyner. But they do look close.
That neurosurgeon is my spirit animal. Go to a food festival and eat everything. Accidentally gets high from weird frog eggs😂

@RobinRichtsfeld ok, you win. You got your highlight...

wth was House up to though?? hell of a potion he was mixing up
I dont remember what is the reason for that emotional hug from 13. Anybody remembers it?
They mentioned that she was leaving for good that day. I think with that long hug she was just saying goodbye because she thought she wouldn't see him or work with him again.
Women be like that sometimes
That's Mr Bean!
FYI those toad eggs are buffo frog eggs 5meo-dmt
I would've liked to have seen Thirteen and Chase spend the night together at least once.
Whose bright idea was it to make Larry David a neurosurgeon?
It's George Weiner although they do look like

Why did House destroy the best relationship with Cuddy?😢😢😢😢😢

wasn't dr foreman a neurosurgeon
I'm sure most of my neurosurgeons were either high or just too confident to see the 💩 they're doing to my brain...they think they're gods 🙄😒
I wish dr kutner was in this episode ❤
'Good enough..' lol
Forman/Foreman IS a neurosurgeon, I can't remember the dealio about him in this episode.
And I thought Chase was the super-surgeon, doing all of these surgeries a specialist would be doing before he was even 30 years old.
Foreman is a Neurologist. They're more or less the medicine specialist equivalent of Neurosurgeons, and they don't operate. They can assist or watch, but not lead. Chase has skills and training from Oz and he can probably do neurosurgery better than the loopy guy. But he isn't Board Certified or unable to complete his specialization, so he's not licensed/legally qualified to do it in the US.
@@ShivSaerdin First part correct, second part not. "Completing the specialization" is the same as "Completing a residency" - that's what a residency is, it's getting trained in that specialty. Board certification is a separate, additional, and optional step.
By the information given in the scene, Chase is 100% a neurosurgeon.
My guess is that the writers confused doing a rotation in a specialty with doing a residency.
@@RLplusabunchofdumbnumbers -chase is most definitely a neurosurgeon. He has completed the training in melbourne and there were some scenes where he was doing brain surgery. But before you dismiss this as false, know that this series was done more than 10 years ago. Things might have changed now. Board certification at that time, means he has gone above and beyond the minimum and has passed state issued requirements. To practice is one thing, to represent a well known hospital for accreditation, needs more than the minimum. It is one of the things inspectors look for. This is why House is right, but the Inspector has a more legal basis. After losing his high, the old neuro surgeon proved he has competency, experience and skill.
@@ShivSaerdin I can definitively say there hasn't been a super massive change in the way medical licensing works in the past 15 years - completing a residency is what makes a physician that type of specialist. That's true now, it was true in 2008, it was true in 1990.
Now, whether or not that's enough for the fictionalized New Jersey state requirements, I don't know - but the little twerp assistant telling Chase he's not a neurosurgeon is 100% wrong by the information in the scene (information the assistant himself gives).
My assumption since this error is that the writers confused "doing a rotation" and "doing a residency" and meant to say Chase is a surgeon but not specifically a neurosurgeon since he only did a rotation during his general surgical residency - but that's not what they wrote.
Also, the question asked to the neurosurgeon is actually another shoddy part of the episode. It's super basic. That's a question you ask 3rd year med students or fresh interns at rounds - that's not a "Only a highly skilled neurosurgeon would know this info" question.
@@RLplusabunchofdumbnumbers Let me just point out, that completing a residency makes you a specialist. But completing a fellowship makes you a sub specialist. That's what I thought considering everything. That he did a rotation during his surgical residency and never finished a fellowship for neurosurgery. That's the difference really. He is a General surgeon, but not a subspecialized one. Regarding that question. Pretty basic, true. I thought he would not even be asked that, but I guess he was being tested for cognitive capacity and mental alertness, not specialized knowledge. Accreditation inspectors never do that. Instead they go through documents and do 1 to 1 validation of your clinical cases. It's not a 5 second pass or fail.
Who play chess like that? Really!
Col Sanders??
At first I thought that was Larry David in the thumbnail
Dude same literally the reason I ever watched this clip
