I really liked the idea about thinking big, about how his parents never took the chances with their passions. He mentions that every time the Dalai Lama is thinking about the whole world every time he makes a decision. Now that's how you make an impact!
I think Kelly is probably the best ever. What he also may be is the greatest athlete alive. Having surfed and done several other sports, I think surfing the waves he surfs, with his degree of success, is amazingly difficult. Nice to see the clip of him with Rob Machado who I think is the most beautiful surfer to watch. Mr. Fluid.

Thanks again Evan! I liked when Kelly was talking about the spiritual factor of surfing and the joy of the memory when he was catching the wave with his father. How that memory would be his driving force for the rest of his life. Also Later after his father's death, he was sitting in the lineup waiting for a wave and thinking his dad would never get to ride one of these flawless heavenly creations. At that moment a wave came thru and he dropped in and got a 12 second barrel, and he knew it was going to be ok. It was like his father was with him. Kelly said, "I am not religious, and I'm not sure if I know God but, It was a gift from God". Surfing in no doubt is a gift from GOD. All questions point towards the heavenly father. Alpha and Omega. Thank You God for this video and Mr Evan for his motivational videos.

I grew up in Cocoa Beach Florida and the Slater family was my next door neighbor. I surfed with Kelly's dad Steve and his brothers Sean ,Steven. My mom was the 3 boys sitter as they grew up. I think you did a great job with your presentation. I will share on my face book my family and friends back in Cocoa Beach that grew up with Kelly will enjoy it . By the way there is a statue erected to Kelly and a street named after him in his home town
Kelly Slater We have people here who worked the in Fincial District who stayed connected to the Financial District now took professionalism to the top of TransAmerican Building. Its like with that last barrel,such a high backdoor and also it pinched shut and then opened. I don't understand where you could position yourself on/in that wave,yet the GOAT comes out with that ridiculous style. From experience God sees your thoughts and shows he is there by by doing something on the Lines of that thought almost immediately as the thought happens. Respect
One thing he said, he needs to think about some more.... "if you're not getting better at something you need to find something else and start getting good at that" (or something like that). I used to surf much better than I do now, and I refuse to give it up. So I would say: if you're not getting better at something you need to introspect and figure out what's holding you back and break it down into little pieces, and find your weak places... then build it back together and make it even better. I started doing core after my injury started losing weight and at 60 I want to be good enough to go tube hunting again.
The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand.
Evan this was a great video! You captured all the overarching features that I think define Kelly Slater and his success. He has so many attributes that encourage me to want to be better. A job well done!

Rule # 2- think big. My Vision is so huge that if I discussed it , people would think that I am crazy! But my big thinking is what drives me to do what I do on a daily basis. #PIFTUBE
On thinking big: There was once a businessman who was sitting by the beach in a small Brazilian village. As he sat, he saw a Brazilian fisherman rowing a small boat towards the shore having caught quite few big fish. The businessman was impressed and asked the fisherman, “How long does it take you to catch so many fish?” The fisherman replied, “Oh, just a short while.” “Then why don’t you stay longer at sea and catch even more?” The businessman was astonished. “This is enough to feed my whole family,” the fisherman said. The businessman then asked, “So, what do you do for the rest of the day?” The fisherman replied, “Well, I usually wake up early in the morning, go out to sea and catch a few fish, then go back and play with my kids. In the afternoon, I take a nap with my wife, and evening comes, I join my buddies in the village for a drink - we play guitar, sing and dance throughout the night.” The businessman offered a suggestion to the fisherman. “I am a PhD in business management. I could help you to become a more successful person. From now on, you should spend more time at sea and try to catch as many fish as possible. When you have saved enough money, you could buy a bigger boat and catch even more fish. Soon you will be able to afford to buy more boats, set up your own company, your own production plant for canned food and distribution network. By then, you will have moved out of this village and to Sao Paulo, where you can set up HQ to manage your other branches.” The fisherman continues, “And after that?” The businessman laughs heartily, “After that, you can live like a king in your own house, and when the time is right, you can go public and float your shares in the Stock Exchange, and you will be rich.” The fisherman asks, “And after that?” The businessman says, “After that, you can finally retire, you can move to a house by the fishing village, wake up early in the morning, catch a few fish, then return home to play with kids, have a nice afternoon nap with your wife, and when evening comes, you can join your buddies for a drink, play the guitar, sing and dance throughout the night!” The fisherman was puzzled, “Isn’t that what I am doing now?”

With all of the amazing things Kelly has seen, done, and experienced in his blessed life, it's hard to believe he's not sure of the existence of God. I'm not proposing that he follow any particular religion or church, but that he really considers all that has been magic in his life and develop his spiritual side. There is a Higher Power of some sort out there that makes life like Kelly's possible. Seeking a more conscious contact with God as he understands God is one practice that could bring deeper meaning and more gratitude into his life.
Kellys surfed his entire life and improved his own skills but doing it daily, he's fortunate from his situtation living on a wicked surf break and being naturally tallented. He doesnt have to believe in god and claiming 'god' gave him all his abilities is silly.

Awsome. Would like to know what he means by "riding a wave in a way no one does". I don't know much about surfing but does he ride waves differently ?

A main concept in surfing is style- the style you have whilst riding a wave. Certain styles stand out sometimes, and Kelly's is certainly one of them.

With all of the amazing things Kelly has seen, done, and experienced in his blessed life, it's hard to believe he's not sure of the existence of God. I'm not proposing that he follow any particular religion or church, but that he really considers all that has been magic in his life and develop his spiritual side. There is a Higher Power of some sort out there that makes life like Kelly's possible. Seeking a more conscious contact with God as he understands God is one practice that could bring deeper meaning and more gratitude into his life.
Kellys surfed his entire life and improved his own skills but doing it daily, he's fortunate from his situtation living on a wicked surf break and being naturally tallented. He doesnt have to believe in god and claiming 'god' gave him all his abilities is silly.
