Thank you for the tour of your house. It’s beautiful! I don’t do resolutions, but if I did it would be to find a way not to lose my needle. I find them in the darndest places! I like the word for the year idea.
Entering my words house and needle. I have never heard of word of the year but I think it is such a great idea. I’m thinking “grateful” could be mine for this year, just to be mindful to be grateful for everything in my life and what comes my way every day.
Yes, I do have a word for the year ( which I started to do when our pastor encouraged us to choose a word instead of making resolutions a couple of years ago). My word for 2021 is "focus", and I have a Bible verse for the year which relates to my word of the year ~ Hebrews 3:1 I'm trying to focus my thoughts on Jesus, and to focus on the positive, and to focus on my task at hand. I also do have goals for this year. My fun one is to cross stitch every day if possible. :) Thank you for sharing and showing us your craft room ~ amazing organization and great ideas for storage. I'm an Andy Griffith fan, too! :) I really enjoyed your tour.
Be still my beating heart. Sherri, I swear, when you opened the doors of your floss cabinet, I heard a choir of angels sing! I gave up making NY resolutions a long time ago and I've never thought about having a word of the year, it sounds intriguing. I hope that you're keeping well. Hugs Marie
I use a word of the year after years of failing with resolutions then I make a few goals for the upcoming year. This year’s word is “resilience”. I want to show toughness and the ability to bounce back from hard times.
I really enjoyed the tour of your creative spaces in your house. It’s always fun to see how others set things up. I have had a word of the year for many years. This year it is “strength”. And it is based on the fact that I know my strength comes from the Lord ❤️
Two things that bring me great peace and calm: my house and my needle. I have done a "One Little Word" for the past 6 years. This year my word is "room".....I want to be sure to leave room and create room for spontaneity, adventure and new experiences. Thanks for sharing your craft room! Loved seeing it....always love to get new ideas!
@@ColoradoCrossStitcher I assume you were talking about Susan I-P in your video. I sure do miss her stories and uplifting words of wisdom. I’m loving your floss tubes and have been redoing my CM room into a combination sewing/stitching/ scrapbooking room. I got some good tips from you.
In my HOUSE, I keep a journal ( that I continually add to) of positive words , phrases and statements and pictures that I review on a regular basis. It is always a positive and uplifting experience. PS I believe Drawn Thread is still located in Fort Collins and you can order entire kits from her website.
That's a great journal idea. I think I will adopt that! And I messaged Drawn Thread, as I had no idea she was near here! Turns out, she is in Denver, so that's fun!
I started the word of the year. I picked the word “relax”. I am tired of stressing out with needlework deadlines I put on myself. This year I am telling myself to relax, enjoy the process
My word this year is turtle. It is to remind me that slow and steady will get me there. Thank you for the peek into your craft room and your stitchy place. I love that you have the door. The buyer of the farm bldgs where I grew up told me I could have the door to the house before he demolished it. It was a beautiful door with colored glass. When he went to get it for me he discovered that it had been stolen. Sad news. It is not the end of the world but I am happy that you have your special door.
Thank you for sharing. My word for the year is grateful. I am grateful that I have a house of friends that I can share my love of needle and thread crafts.
Needle, house. I make News Years resolutions. 1st is to read my Bible daily, a chapter at a time. Second, I've divided my cross stitch projects into days of the week, so I have a good rotation
"House and Needle." Could be the name of a home accessory and needlework shop! I try to pick a word, but incorporating it in my life falls away just like resolutions do. I like your accountability strategies. I think my word for 2021 is blessings. Sharing, receiving and most of all finding blessings in the ups AND downs of life. Thank you.
Thank you, Sheri, for sharing all of your stitchy stuff with us. I love your room where you enjoy your crafts. It was fun seeing Little Loopy here and there. I just love him. I don't have a word this year, but I'm thinking about it. Mine may end up being a phrase. One that comes to mind, is "Trust in the Lord, always". Until next time, Sheri, have many wonderful, blessed days. Diane
I’ve done a word of the year for several years now. Usually my word picks me. 🙂 this year my word is trust. I’m trying to let go of worries and anxious moments and trust that God takes care off me. I enjoy your videos greatly.
Even before we were confined to the house, I took up my needle for the first time in almost 30 years! I am a knitter with a capital K, as well as a spinner. I don't really do resolutions, but my word of the year this year is Useful. Above all, I wish to be truly useful in this world.
Hi Sheri! This is Lori from Utah. Thanks for another wonderful video! I love seeing inside the fun crafty rooms in your house. Thank you also for your warm hospitality when I visited the Loopy Ewe...best knitting & yarn store EVER! I'm so glad we stopped by.
Your suggestion of a word of the year really resonated with me this morning, like a bell going off! What a positive idea! My four sisters and I zoom every two weeks and we try to find meaningful things to connect and share. I will be suggesting this to them! You did a wonderful job of presenting how to incorporate this into our lives. I will not needle them with participating, but if they do, I’ll stitch a little pillow for each of them with their word to put in their house!
HOUSE and NEEDLE I love your “word” of the year. It reminds me of having words of affirmations! You are such a positive personality and I love seeing your videos.
Congratulations on reaching 6,000 subscribers!! I love the pattern with the house. I don’t do resolutions or a word of the year, but if I were to chose a word of the year I think it would grace. I am always mindful of God’s Grace and at the same time we should also show grace to others. I enjoyed your stitching room tour; it is always fun to be abler to place people in their environment when they are stitching. I love, love the fabric box that has the blue morning glories on it as I have never seen one quite like that. It is so pretty. Love your red polka dot storage and the thread cabinet. So wonderful. Adding hooks to the doors is a great idea and would double your space. I am totally envious of all of the beautiful space that you have in your craft room; so adorable and such a nice work space. Love your cat pincushion.
I don’t do NY resolutions but have selected a guiding word for each year. For 2021 I chose the word Joy. I choose to look for the joy in every day and spread joy wherever I can. I never considered stitching my word into a pin pillow, but I think that is a brilliant idea. I found a design that uses the word Joy and will stitch it as soon as the pattern arrives. Needle, house
Your Saviors piece is so pretty, just love it and all the personalization you made. Thanks for the home tour. Can’t wait to see the progress on your projects and new ones to come. Thanks for the video and inspiration! Needle. I do small resolutions, I don’t share them normally and sometimes I do have a word that I will use through the year. The words I share and this years is a reminder of something for me personally - positive.
House! Loved seeing your craft area. Some good words I could choose: patience, focus or abundance. The quote about having all I need (abundance) is to remind me to USE patterns, fabric, yarn that I ‘had to have’ and now they sit waiting for me to do something with them ;)
I have done a Motto for the year for the past few years. This year has 2 mottos: Have more FUN in 2021! Get more STUFF done in 2021! Both are working for me so far 😄 Thanks so much for your lovely video 💕
House. Needle. And I have tried Resolutions, but they never really persisted. I have 2 friends who choose words of the year, so I jumped on that bandwagon this year - and I LOVE it. I think I should stitch my word too. It is ‘Faithful’. I want to be faithful to my goals, and I want to remember to be ‘Faith Filled’. It has helped me so much, and we’re only 3ish weeks into the year! My sister gifted me with a t’shirt with it on it. Really wonderful practice.
Love that you're doing a word of the year for the first time! And how great that you have two friends who can be supportive and help to keep you accountable!
I like to stitch with a gold-plated needle and Little House patterns are some of my favorites. I do not make specific resolutions, but I have decided to make sure I do something that brings me joy every day this year. I don't want to wait until all the chores, etc. are done before I stitch, read, spend time with friends, or play a game.
Sheri, you have many of the same tastes as I do. I, too, am fond of, and own, those large beautiful works. Never have a bunch or finishes but just thoroughly enjoy working on my needlework. I wanted to thank you for you craft room tour. Thanks, too, for taking the time to explain why individual pieces were meaningful for you. 😷
Wow! Your craft room is A.amazing with the huge windows supplying the always valuable natural light!! Your office is gorgeous, too! Thx for sharing!! Needle
NEEDLE AND HOUSE IS MY ENTRY!! My word for this year is JOY!! Once again I enjoyed visiting with you and your beautiful WIPS!! HAPPY STITCHING TODAY AND EVERYDAY IN 2021!!
I so enjoyed your tour of the craft room and cross stitch room. I am blessed to have a sewing/craft room and am so thankful as I use it every day. I am a quilter and stitcher and have done many of the same crafts you mentioned which were all enjoyable at the time. Thank you for sharing - always enjoy your videos!
I love a good needle and have them all over my house. I do a word of the year and my word for this year is patience. Thank you for another great video.
Needle House Thank you for your flosstubes. I learn so much from you. I LOVE the library card idea. Your flosstubes are fun and educational. Thank you so much!
6k subscribers! This is amazing, congratulations! This year is the first year I have chosen a word. My word is authenticity. I am working to bring my authentic self in all areas of my life instead of having so many boxes/versions of myself. At work I’m one person. Home another, etc. your room tour was great to see since I am looking to update mine. Happy stitching!
Great idea for the word of the year! I journal and pick a word of the year, every year. My word this year is “understanding “. I will be adding a needle stitch project to all them. I love the tour of your stitching /knitting/office. I bet you fill your house with a lot of beautiful projects. Your craft room is amazing.
House. Needle.Loved your tours and the window dressings from hanker chiefs and rulers! loved your floss cabinet and especially Quaker Christmas (put it on my list) so enjoy your floss tube. I just started a word for the year in 2020 and I pray and ask the Lord what does He think my word should be after sharing what I am working on or challenges and hopes. In 2020 my word was "transform" and this year I was impressed by the Lord that my word for 2021 is to be "intentional". I felt like in my life I am to cross into the promise land and that cannot be done without being intentional. When Gods people crossed over they built Little Rock alters to memorialize what the had done crossing over. So it really meant a lot when you shared signing your word for the year pin cushion!
Forgot to tell you that I love your craft room with all the windows. Wish that some day have a room big like your room. Enjoy seeing your office, floss closet, where you video tape and all the pictures on the wall that you did cross stitch. Have a good week.
Needle, house, My you are working on some amazing projects. No resolutions or words of the year. Loved your tours. So much to see and so many awesome ideas
Your Christmas Quaker is stunning! My word for the year is embrace. We have changes coming for our family and I want to embrace all of it. Needle Thanks for the fun tour!
My word this year is courage. I'm praying for courage to stand for my faith - my Savior. Courage to not shrink away when confronted with opportunities to share the Gospel. I've dropped 2 needles lately in couch - sure do hope the grand babies don't "find" them when they come to Gramsie's house! Loved seeing your space and your videos are the best! I never know what you are going to add, but I know it will be fun and informative. The time spent organizing and planning really comes through. Thank you.
Courage is a beautiful word, and I love how you have made a list of the ways that you can show it in 2021. I'm hoping you have lots of opportunities to practice your word this year!
Sheri, oh my gosh your office and craft room is AWESOME! You are so blessed! I love the light you have in the craft room. What are in the drawers of your big big cabinet? What a treasure that piece is. Also what are the cute little “kindness” knit cuties you showed? I loved those!!! Wow, and all the beautiful cross stitch you’ve done! Amazing space for all your crafts. I just retired, and I am in process of turning one of our upstairs bedrooms into my cross stitch studio and it’s been so much fun! I’m even more inspired now from viewing your video. Thanks so much for sharing! Oh my! And that door table of your grandparents! Have a good week and I eagerly await your next floss tube! Your floss tube is my favorite!
Hi Karen! Most of the drawers in the big cabinet all hold a different color of wool for my wool applique projects. A couple of the drawers hold empty project bags for future knitting projects. And the Kindness Monster pattern can be found on Ravelry. I just changed the pattern slightly by making mine striped so I could add more colors in. www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/a-little-kindness-monster
Needle and House! Loving the word Idea! Being more "Mindful" has been on my mind. Mindful what I say, what I do and what I think. You are such an inspiration to me and really love your style, I see that I have ordered several of the projects you are doing. Your work is stunning!
Congrats on finishing your mittens...it's just never too late to stitch what you love...my favorite needle size is 24....we have all spent too much time in the house this year...Love your craft spaces....thanks for inviting us over!
The tour of your craft space was so wonderful, like seeing were individuals craft and sew. I have a word for the year and this years word is joy. Like the idea of a necklace to remind me of the word. Needle and house.
I used the word Joy one year - loved focusing on that the whole year. I kept a notebook by my bed and wrote down something that brought my JOY that day (or ways that I shared Joy with others that day).
Needle and house. Thanks for your lovely video. I like the idea of word of the year. And stitch a little pillow with it as a reminder. That’s so lovely. Stay safe. Best wishes, Bettina
Thank you for sharing your house. Love the big cabinet and little items that make it your happy place. My word this year is Fearless reminding me trust and fear not. Enjoy your stitching and tips. Needle.
I've never done a word for the new year, and I always fail at resolutions. However, I challenge myself with something each year. Example: last year I challenged myself, and my "needle" group to finish 20 in '20. This year I made a list if 12 items to work on, and I draw a number from a cup each month, and make progress on that project. My "house" is always busy, and I live it.
What a wonderful space to craft,2 rooms! It’s always fun to see where others create.Always enjoy seeing your beautiful finishes.I like the idea of a pin pillow with a cross stitched word for the year,I’m going to stitch, CALM😌
House and needle. Two things I love to collect, patterns with houses amid trying new needles. Loved your video. We draw a scripture from the Bible at church each January. I place it on my bathroom mirror so I can see it each morning.
Your samplers in your intro are beautiful. I am not a New Years resolution person per say. I am more of a goal setter. I like your idea of putting your word onto a pillow. House, needle. Your craft room is full of memories and so organized ❤️
Love your office ..... that is excellent storage for your cross stitch supplies. Your craft room is amazing. Thank you for the inspiring tour!. No resolutions for me going forward. My word for this year is Hope. Needle and House !!
I loved the tour of your crafting areas. I picked faith as my word of the year which I am trying for the first time this year. Joy is having a needle in my hand at all times when in my house!
Congrats on 6000! Thank you for the office and craft room tour. You are so organized. Looks so nice and I just love your floss cabinet! Hooks would work perfectly inside the door. The handkerchief valance is so pretty. Such a fun craft room. ❤️ needle house
Love your story about your doors. We used old doors from my husband’s mother’s home place to build a mountain cottage and we love them. Some are used as barn door frames, one is a sliding door for bathroom and two tall skinny ones are the doors to our closet like French doors. The most cherished one of all is a massive front door.
Thank you for the tour of your house. It’s beautiful! I don’t do resolutions, but if I did it would be to find a way not to lose my needle. I find them in the darndest places! I like the word for the year idea.
needle, house, and my word is thankful for all the memories i have made over my 70+ years
Entering my words house and needle. I have never heard of word of the year but I think it is such a great idea. I’m thinking “grateful” could be mine for this year, just to be mindful to be grateful for everything in my life and what comes my way every day.
I like grateful as a word of the year. It definitely has a positive connotation!
Yes, I do have a word for the year ( which I started to do when our pastor encouraged us to choose a word instead of making resolutions a couple of years ago). I'm an Andy Griffith fan, too! :) I really enjoyed your tour.
Love the ways you've set out to "focus" in the coming year - that's wonderful. And I'm also glad to know another Andy Griffith fan! :-)
Be still my beating heart. Sherri, I swear, when you opened the doors of your floss cabinet, I heard a choir of angels sing!
I gave up making NY resolutions a long time ago and I've never thought about having a word of the year, it sounds intriguing.
I hope that you're keeping well.
Hugs
Marie
Ha - that made me laugh! :-)
Needle and House! Thanks for your videos.
I use a word of the year after years of failing with resolutions then I make a few goals for the upcoming year. This year’s word is “resilience”. I want to show toughness and the ability to bounce back from hard times.
That's a good word, and hopefully will help you to remember how strong you are, as you go through things this year.
I really enjoyed the tour of your creative spaces in your house. It’s always fun to see how others set things up. I have had a word of the year for many years. This year it is “strength”. And it is based on the fact that I know my strength comes from the Lord ❤️

I love the way you describe your word of the year. It sounds like a perfect thing to focus on!
For storing your silk floss, you could use command hooks on the doors. That way you wouldn't have to damage it in any way.
True! Not sure the door is thick enough for hooks, anyways, so that would solve it.
I do a word of the year. My word this year is grateful. I’m grateful for my family and my nice warm house. 😊
Grateful is a very positive word. I love it.

My only resolution is to stop losing my cross stitch Needle in my House!
😂😂😂
Absolutely, even with magnets and needle minders I lose mine!

Oh, that is so sad about that door. :-( I know you would have treasured it. And I love your word of the year!
Needle, house. Usually choose a quote or phrase. This year is " happiness is a daily decision."
I like the idea of a yearly quote - thanks for sharing that!
I love the idea of word for the year, mine will be courage , thanks
I like to have a word as a reminder - mine this year is patience.

Thanks for watching, Judith!
Entering words house and needle. Enjoying all the beautiful starts and finishes.
Oh, your craft room is awesome! I love what you did with your grandmother’s front door. Thanks so much for showing us around.
Thank you, Lyn!
I love a good needle and have them all over my house. I do a word of the year and my word for this year is patience. Thank you for another great video.
I hope you get lots of opportunities to "realize" patience (and maybe not so many to actually have to practice patience - ha!)
Needle House Thank you for your flosstubes. I learn so much from you. I LOVE the library card idea. Your flosstubes are fun and educational. Thank you so much!
Thanks for watching, Connie!
That sounds like a very worthy goal for 2021. Hard to do, but interesting to contemplate!
House or needle. They are both gorgeous. Thank you for the opportunity. Love your stitching.
Understanding is a good word and a good reminder - I like that. :-)
This is my third year to have a word of the year: thankful, grace, and this year gratitude.
I love all three of those, Julie!
I love your word for the year. Being intentional in all that you do will make for many blessings and lessons this year, I'm sure!
Forgot to tell you that I love your craft room with all the windows. Wish that some day have a room big like your room. Enjoy seeing your office, floss closet, where you video tape and all the pictures on the wall that you did cross stitch. Have a good week.
Thanks for watching, Janada!
Needle, house, My you are working on some amazing projects. No resolutions or words of the year. Loved your tours. So much to see and so many awesome ideas
Thanks for watching, Debi!
My word this year is hope!! I loved your Craft Room Tour. Thank you for sharing.
I hope your 2021 is full of hope!
Needle and House. You deserve all the subscribers you are a pleasure to listen to. Always interesting. X
What a lovely thing to say. Thank you for watching, Kath!
Your Christmas Quaker is stunning! My word for the year is embrace. We have changes coming for our family and I want to embrace all of it. Needle Thanks for the fun tour!
I think that is a great word for managing expectations and going with the flow. Good luck with the coming year!
Thank you.
Awesome post
Great video. My word for the year is Joy. The house is a pattern I have wanted to stitch. The tour of your craft room brought me JOY!!
I'm so glad I could be part of your JOY year for a few minutes, today!
Needle. Loved seeing your crafty areas. It's always fun to see how other people set things up. Thanks for sharing!
Totally agree. I wish more people would do tours!
Thank you for your time and positivity. I like your Summer House projects. Needle. The library cards are great, as I am a former librarian.
Thank you for watching, Anne!
Needle and House! Loving the word Idea! Being more "Mindful" has been on my mind. Mindful what I say, what I do and what I think. You are such an inspiration to me and really love your style, I see that I have ordered several of the projects you are doing. Your work is stunning!
Thank you so much for your sweet comment, Melissa! I love the word mindful - it makes me think of slowing down and appreciating the things around me.
Thank you for taking the time to share with of us!

Thanks for taking the time to watch, Stephanie!
Congrats on finishing your mittens...it's just never too late to stitch what you love...my favorite needle size is 24....we have all spent too much time in the house this year...Love your craft spaces....thanks for inviting us over!
Thanks for watching the tour!
Always love to see your beautiful stitching! Thank you so much for sharing your workspace and storage with us.
Thanks for watching, Ginny!
Thank you, Bettina!
Thank you for sharing your house. Love the big cabinet and little items that make it your happy place. My word this year is Fearless reminding me trust and fear not. Enjoy your stitching and tips. Needle.
Fearless - that sounds strong and capable and also peaceful, when you add in the word Trust. I like it.
Sounds like a good stitching action plan!
I do not do new year's resolutions or word of the year. I always enjoy seeing your cross stitch finishes and WIPS, very lovely. Needle
Thanks for sharing your craft room! What a great area to have friends over. Always enjoy your videos Sheri!!
Thanks, Beth - it is a fun area for that!
Needle, house ! All your stitching is gorgeous !! Thank you Jennifer McMillan
Thank you, Jennifer!
House and needle...I just recently heard of the word of the year...I have chosen the word "hope"...
I love your flosstubes....
Hope is a great word - very positive and forward-focused. :-)
Thanks for another great video. I found a needle on my couch last night - right before I sat down! 😯
What a wonderful space to craft,2 rooms! It’s always fun to see where others create.Always enjoy seeing your beautiful finishes.I like the idea of a pin pillow with a cross stitched word for the year,I’m going to stitch, CALM😌
Calm is a great word of the year!
House and needle. Two things I love to collect, patterns with houses amid trying new needles. Loved your video. We draw a scripture from the Bible at church each January. I place it on my bathroom mirror so I can see it each morning.
I also like the idea of a scripture of the year. Our previous church used to do that, and had them printed up on cards for all of us.
Your samplers in your intro are beautiful. I am not a New Years resolution person per say. I am more of a goal setter. I like your idea of putting your word onto a pillow. House, needle. Your craft room is full of memories and so organized ❤️
Goals are wonderful, too! I do like those better than resolutions. :-)
Love your office ..... that is excellent storage for your cross stitch supplies. Your craft room is amazing. Thank you for the inspiring tour!.
No resolutions for me going forward. My word for this year is Hope.
Needle and House !!
I love the word Hope. I hope you have a very "hopeful" or "Hope Full" year, Deb!
Needle House Thanks for the opportunity!! My word this year is kindness.
I hope you get many opportunities to share AND experience kindness in 2021, Janet!
I loved the tour of your crafting areas. I picked faith as my word of the year which I am trying for the first time this year. Joy is having a needle in my hand at all times when in my house!
Faith is a great word to focus on. I hope you have fun making it a part of your 2021!
A garden “sewn” with a needle grows no weeds!!! Thank you for your encouragement-I’m xstitching again !!
So happy to hear that!
I love NEEDLE arts! It is fun to stitch a HOUSE. I do have yearly goals and a Scripture verse for the year.
Congrats on 6000! Thank you for the office and craft room tour. You are so organized. Looks so nice and I just love your floss cabinet! Hooks would work perfectly inside the door. The handkerchief valance is so pretty. Such a fun craft room. ❤️ needle house
Thank you, Angela!
Fun to hear your repurposing of doors from your MIL's home!
