    You put any other TH-camrs back to their seat when bad mouthing saying the Desert Eagle is useless or too powerful or too expensive or too heavy ..
    You are the LIVING proof that this gun IS THE GUN to OWN above anything else on the market !!!

    THANK YOU...THANK YOU...THANK YOU. I just picked up my Desert Eagle today and decided to oil it before the first shot. Disassembly was easy....where YOU saved my behind was showing me the proper alignment of the piston with the recoil springs. No other TH-cam video was as clear and concise as your description. Underpowered ammo will affect any semi or automatic weapon that is gas dependant to cycle, ANY . The Desert Eagle is possibly more ammo finicky than some. It is a reliable gun when fed the proper ammo . Magnum Research if I remember correctly suggests / recommends the proper ammo in the literature provided when you purchase the gun . I suppose many or some do not read it .

      except that I used a box Magtech 240-grain JSP's when I first fired it (which is one of the recommended cartridges), and guess what, it still had feeding/cycling issues (despite having a proper stance and a nice firm grip)

    Great review of the new lightweight. A note on the trigger, it's adjustable. With the slide and barrel removed you can see a small hole on the back of the magazine well where the trigger can be adjusted to basically set the release point along its pull with a small flatheaded screwdriver. The further forward it releases, the lighter the pull will be. I set mine for about eight pounds after inadvertently double tapping the gun with the trigger set at about three pounds.

    • @HammerStriker
      @HammerStriker  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank-you. That is great info to have, and double-tapping a .50ae was probably a bit of a surprise...

    • @johnbutler1323

      It was. Luckily both rounds hit the been, but the second was off target just a bit.

    • @johnbutler1323
      @johnbutler1323 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, a bit. I bought mine in .44 Magnum originally and added the .50AE barrel later as well as a .357 bolt and barrel. A three pound trigger was fine in .44 Magnum but the after the inadvertent double tap with .50AE I dialed it up. By the by, .357 Magnum on the standard weight gun is...odd. There's almost a negative recoil effect as the weight of the slide going forward actually pulls the gun forward and down slightly. Will the L6 take standard .357 and .44 barrels?

  • @maxsimeck902
    @maxsimeck902 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do you have issues with brass ejecting straight back?

    • @HammerStriker
      @HammerStriker  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do not have that issue, this one ejects out to the side and up. Ammo or something slowing down the slide can cause that but more often that will happen when the gun twists in your hand (effectively turning the ejection port straight up).

    • @maxsimeck902
      @maxsimeck902 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So, and this is where it's shown that I know nothing about deagles, the ejector moves with the rotating bolt like it would on an AR-15, which would mean that due to wrist torsion you could wind up beaning yourself?

    • @HammerStriker
      @HammerStriker  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are two ways this can occur that have little to do with the bolt.
      1) If something slows down the slide (drag, maintenance or weak ammo), the case may not hit the way it needs to in order to eject properly and instead of going to the side it will go up.
      2) More often in very powerful guns like this it is the shooter's control of the twist and flip caused by recoil. The muzzle will rise on recoil due to "bore axis", ie: the barrel is above your hand and effectively creates a lever so some of the energy lifts the muzzle. In a large, less powerful gun like a 9mm Glock 17 this is hardly noticeable but in a very small or very powerful gun it is much more noticeable. Couple that with the fact that the gun tries to twist in your grip. When you add the two together you get a twist that turns the ejection port up and a flip that turns the top of the slide toward you which results in getting ejected rounds straight up or toward your face. In extreme cases of this you can get beaned but you will get poor ejection in even some milder cases. This is sometimes called "limp-wristing" but I tend not to use the term because some people immediately assume it's an insult. It's not, it simply means the shooter did not keep the wrist properly locked and the grip solid enough to force the gun to stay where it belongs and make the recoil energy cycle the gun/eject rather than moving the frame.

      It would be effective if you hit your target but would be a poor choice for that particular purpose. It is large, heavy and low capacity with a very high risk of over-penetration if you miss the intended target.

      We have a .50 AE and it is flawless. I have not fired a .44 or .357 version, but I have not heard of any issues with them.

    I pitty the fools, they don't know what's going down with this gun, only the Polish army using it?
    What up?
    Best and most accurate secondary weapon ever made, used only by a few armies?

    Still think the NRA is doing great things for gun owners rights with everything that's been going on in Virginia?

    why doesn't the Desert Eagle company make magnum pistols for 45-70, 454, 460, etc. I'll tell you it won't be long till they make a 500 magnum pistol. You can't Holster the damn thing, there's no way Steven Segal or a Shaq sized Detective State Trooper could ever put it to field use. Great for Taking down Aliens, Predators, & Engineers, Blade Runners, Michael Myers, Jason Vorhees, Creepers, Chainsaw, and anybody too tough to kill.

      You CAN holster the damn thing. Have you ever tried or are you repeating interwebs wisdom?
