My immediate thoughts are combo packs of dockside/curio and conspicuous snoop/Kiki-Kiki. Snoop works well in this deck because you don't need most of the crap goblins with porphoros in the command zone. The play a lot of stax to slow your opponents down.

Purphoros, was a very neat deck to play against and is very dangerous
I've played purph' in casual for years and... yeah, it's a powerhouse. I was considering playing it again, so I'm quite thrilled to watch your video.

Great video. I did similar with Krydle. Not ideal, but he's my pet commander. So being blue black, I still had access to so many good combo pieces and tutors. Somehow, the deck became a turbo deck that falls back on huge unblockable infect hits. I've gotten a few turn3 wins. I think you're right that by this point in MtG history, the 99 really can make up for a weaker commander a bit. I'm not saying it's gonna be on par with a TurboNaus deck that is lead by a better general like Jorn or Kess, but I win a ton of my games with Krydle.
If anyone here also likes Krydle and unblock able infect shenanigans, I'd suggest to only use the cheapest CMC creatures with unblock able built in to grant infect to, and the few bigger infect creatures like Skittles can be pushed through with Krydle or a few insurance policy redundancy spells.
It gets nasty fast.
Fork is also an amazing instant red card that copies instants and Sorceries it only costs two red mana 😁
I have made 15 edh decks, Purphoros is my favorite, it's strong and builded with right ammount of mana rocks and ramp could be very explosive. Obviously scared of counters, but who isn't ahah

I play norin and not Purphoros, but it's a similar deck except with norin you have gas in the command zone, where as purphoros has the engine in the command zone. One card that worked incredibly for me in one of my last matches was Rose room Treasurer, a card from New cappena commander. The value I got off it in a turn cycle pushed me into a state where I won a turn or so later. It might not perform as well in purphoros, but it outperformed my expectations in norin so it might be worth a shot.
Also fury storm is going in my Krark/Thrasios deck, I can't believe I didn't know about it.

as a purphoros players, 2 of my more interesting cards are zozu-the punisher (maybe not in cEDH) but often an MVP, and chandras incinerator
I have a cEDh land focused deck. And my girlfiend had that card in the deck as a meta card vs me. Was great. I hated it.
Another note on ragavan he dashes with for purpheros that's damage every turn and he dodges your boardwipes!
That is true. I have actually dashed it into play every turn and never attacked with it ever. Everyone had blockers.
@@cedhtv might even be worth it to run things like myriad or the new encore goblin with the incidental value logic
For those of you who want to build a high power (8-10) purphoros deck, try making it a goblin tribal with the high and mid power goblins (kiki, muxus, lackey, krenko, etc) and put ETB doublers and modifiers in it. Mine keeps up with atraxa stax, Gisela, and avacyn decks easily!
Will you do a Godo update or has your dislike of the deck not changes?
What's your take on Runaway Steam-Kin? Too slow? Seems like a great way to generate/store mana and take advantage of the multiple casts per turn.. 47 red spells in your deck list...
I actually like Runaway Steam-Kin. But yes it is a bit to slow. You can play it tho. It is not wrong for the deck.
@8:37 I don't believe they go infinite by themselves. You can not cast fury storm without a target, so your going to need another instant or sorcery spell. Yes, when you cast it you get a copy of Furystorm, but that is when you cast it, not before you cast it.

Correct. It is not there yet but it can do somestuff. and even if you have a lover win % You can win some games at cEDH tables with it.
