I did notice one thing about this debate that felt quite off at the time, but it makes quite a bit of sense in hindsight: Wright said that he is completely against the idea of cereal with water but is fine with Oreos with water. At first, it may seem like those two ideologies conflict, however we must take into account that Oreos are naturally delicious and most cereals do not taste great outside of milk. The added flavor of milk is what makes most cereals taste great, and the lack of it causes most cereals to be mediocre or straight up bad- barring a few exceptions like Reese’s Puffs (refer to Schlatt’s cereal tier list). So the comparison between the two isn’t so similar.
Schlatt's cereal tier-list is not something I'd expected to be brought up here. Anyway, plain Cheerios, no milk. Made up about 2/3 of my meals over quarantine.

If a cereal tastes fin dry then you can eat it with water. I'll sogg my fruity pebbles with water since they diffuse their flavor into the water. Thus making the water taste of fruity pebbles. I still prefer milk of course but if you are lacking in that area then water is an acceptable substitute. I wouldn't willingly eat cereal with water if I had milk on hand.

I've actually done that before lol, I was pushed to the limits of desperation because we were out of milk (fuck eating them dry, Oreos must be eaten wet if at all possible). If you insist on eating Oreos on a diet, substituting water for milk would cut down calories. I wouldn't do it again, but if I had to I'd take it over eating dry Oreos. If your ""diet"" regularly consists of eating Oreos and guzzling energy drinks, I think you're well beyond the point of getting to call it a diet. For anyone who's interested in genuinely trying to diet/lose weight, I'm sorry to say that gradually cutting back on your sugar intake is an absolute necessity. In moderation, a lil' bit of cheating here and there's completely fine but you should NEVER go overboard with it. The goal is to aim for at least 80% consistency with your diet. The only exceptions to this are in diets like keto, where cheating even once will result in your diet ending & your hard work being undone. (As to why this is, for diets like keto your body needs to enter the metabolic state of ketosis [can take up to a week] and then remain there for as long as you can manage. Cheating or eating improperly/excessively in diets like keto will result in your body falling out of ketosis, thus making you have to restart the process all over again.)

After watching this, I was very curious and lucky for me I did have some regular oreos in the pantry. I dipped them in water and he was exactly right! Milk does change the flavor of the cookie, while water just makes the cookie wet. I might start dipping my oreos in water from now on.

It’s the leftover Oreo crumbs in the water that make this unappealing. Somehow Oreo crumbs in milk is more palatable than Oreo crumbs in water, which is clear, so you just see these black flecks floating around which is gross.
Orea with water gets the oreo soggy, but it doesn't have the flavor of milk, and since milk is thicker, the sogginess of the oreo just isn't the same. It tastes okay, just not good. How about Tea? I usually drink tea while eating oreos. Tea is basically flavoured water but is lighter than milk so you get flavour and get the oreos soggy in less time than milk so Tea is the best option. But also coffee is a good alternative though.
I rarely eat cookies or drink tea, but when I'm sick and not feeling hungry that's what I do for easy calories. Dunking cookies into green tea is perfectly viable and could be meta IMO.

I am here to start a debate. Milk before cereal. Facts: The cereal doesn't get soggy immediately, I get to decide how much milk I wanna pour beforehand, less chance of the milk splashing everywhere, you eat less sugary cereals if you add it on top of the milk thereby increasing the nutritive power of your breakfast because there's more milk now and less cereal. Conclusion: *Milk before cereal.*
Except your arguments apply to the opposite side as well. Portion control is something people learn, you can CHOOSE how much Milk/cereal you add before hand through things like measuring cups. You can just add less cereal and boom you eat less. Meanwhile you can be more likely to splash simply due to cereal sometimes clumping or coming out in a large batch which is something that can be countered when the cereal is in the bowl by adjusting your pouring so the mouth of the container is close to the bowl. Cereal doesn't get soggy immediately regardless of how you do it... that is just logically being blind. In fact milk before can result in less cereal which means more milk to absorb getting soggy much quicker. What is actually happening is when you pour the milk first you put it back in the fridge. When you pour it 2nd you put it back into the fridge giving the cereal time to soak along with placing the box away. It just depends on how far ahead you can think. If you're doing Milk before you're better off scooping the cereal out and leaving the box out till you're finished. If you're doing Cereal before you're better off adding it through a cup so you don't let it soak when you put away the milk and cereal.
