Why didn’t they lure Tony Vitello away from Tennessee? I have read lots of posts be Vols fans laughing at the Aggies for losing Scholass right after losing the CWS. It would have been great to shut those folks up.
Because the boys wanted Earley. It is becoming more and more clear that HE is the reason why so many of our guys love playing at A&M, and that HE is a big reason why we were so successful last year. We made the right choice.
Why would Vitello leave Tennessee? He just beat this same team for the national championship lol. He's got the keys to Knoxville and will easily be the highest paid head coach in the nation. Tennessee has been the most consistent team (highest winning percentage) in Division 1 over the last 4 years. Tennessee is a top 10 school in terms of athletics budget. If you think A&M can just pull money out of a hat and pay him whatever, Tennessee can easily match and raise that. He has no reason to leave when he's built the UT program to a national powerhouse from absolutely nothing 7 years ago.
