Very useful info, no one teaches us this stuff. If I were to win a large sum of money, say the lottery, could I just buy an annuity, or can they only be purchased with a pension pot?

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. you can use cash outside of a pension to purchase what's called a 'Purchased Life Annuity'.
