@JasonGrubb yea attention always the hard part haha I can get the daughter focused for 1 or 2 movements then I let her do whatever, just trying to get her to see me doing stuff. Oh well content idea haha
hey Jason, I recently got a chiller for my icebath by nuvio, I live in florida my chiller won't reach the temp I set it too for example its set on 49 but won't get cooler than 58 to 60. its this normal or does your chiller keep the temp u set it to despite the heat ? thanks love the content
Good question... The chiller I use from Penguin (www.penguinchillers.com/?rstr=6858) is 3/4 horse power. IF your chiller is not getting the water told enough, it's likely not quite strong enough. I'm in Alabama - 95-100 degrees this week and my water is always 47 (right where I set it)
I'm thoroughly impressed by your dedication and the quality of your routine. That being said, I chaffed at your phone in the sauna. If are serious about the benefits you can get from the sauna, as a meditative experience, I would not take your phone in (except for maybe setting a timer). Its an amazing opportunity to be alone with nothing but the heat and your thoughts. An excellent opportunity to get to know yourself better, think about the future, your life etc.. Other than that, I'm impressed and while I currently unable to build a setup like yours, whenever I get into my next house, its going to be the first thing I put up. We are plagued by constant media stimulation, at least I know I am. Reclaiming a portion of the day for silence, solitude, meditation, is probably about as good for you as the sauna itself.
Ha ha! I knew I would get flack for taking my phone. Sometimes I just sit, sometimes I habit stack, sometimes I just scroll and chill. But yea - absolute best practice would be no other stimulation.
Love the set up. You ever consider adding a shower that you connect a hose to so you can rinse before ice barrel so the water can stay cleaner longer?
I really do need a shower
What a routine 😮 🙌
Just be careful with the phone. The seals that keep it water resistant can ware out over time.
Fair - but I only keep a phone for about two years.
Legit question here, how would u workout with a 5 and 10 year old crossfit wise. I got bikes/ weights and barbells for kids plus all my garage gym.
You gotta scale and make the workouts fun and doable for them.

How many times are you doing sauna a week? Just this contrast on Sunday, or shorter sessions during the week as well?
Mega-Sessions on Sunday... shorter session (ie 15 min) a couple of times a week.

Do you throw water on stove in sauna at all?
I don't... It's plenty humid down here already.

Isn't all of that a lot of extra stress? It's surprising to me that this routine doesn't beat up the nervous system.
it is a bit of stress... yes. But not the same type of stress that training is.
