Yeah me too lol. A big chip/scratch or a piece of the model snapping and it can be a serious problem when you are trying to make something look perfect. If the banner pole had broken they are near impossible to get back looking flawless.
Congratulations on your Bronze Golden Demon brother! Well deserved in a hard fought competition. Amazing to see your climb in Hobby and TH-cam primacy!
Hi there! I wanted to drop you a message to express my appreciation. Your videos have been incredibly helpful in my journey into miniature painting. I ventured into wargaming just before turning 43 and, after consulting with friends, I decided on a couple of games and ordered the miniatures. Knowing I wanted to paint them myself, I started watching tutorial videos and stumbled upon yours among others. The knowledge I've gained from your content has been invaluable. Although I still face some challenges, I'm growing more confident with each piece I paint, all thanks to your guidance. Interestingly, I've discovered that I enjoy painting just as much, if not more, than playing the games themselves. So, thank you for generously sharing your expertise, and keep being awesome!
Came back here to say congrats, man. If the stars align, would love to attend Adepticon next year so I can see you win Gold ;D Thanks for all the awesome videos!
Would you be willing once the model has been entered and the competition is over to consider making a video focused on that feedback that was provided? Having the scope of the painters you look up to at my own little level would be incredible.
Congrats and hats off to you Sir!!! Broke or not, a well deserved price! It’s an amazing piece of art and an achievement! I truly feel happy for you as I know you’ve worked hard for this goal for several years now!!! 🙌
Congrats on the award! Take a well earned breather! On a casual note...what is that song during the Rock Philosophy Class and Tree painting?? That techy 8-bit sound SLAPS
Hey Ninjon! I am a big fan of your work. I went to a local hobby store of mine and was looking at their case of painted minis and wouldn't you know it... I saw them and thought they looked amazing. I was talking with my gf and I said "Holy crap... this guys stuff is so good... this makes the 2nd person I would actually pay to paint a model for me". She then says "You have seen a video before of this very model you know." and I only watch a couple of painters and the first I thought of was you. As I went to take out my phone and go through your thumbnails I noticed that there was a business card that said "Trapped Under Plastic: Jon Ninas / Scott Walter". I looked at that name "Jon Ninas" and the 2 neurons in my brain were working overtime and eventually I just went O____O I ran to one of the guys behind the counter and was like "Are you fucking telling me right now that Ninjon painted those minis in your case???" and the guy just laughed and said that you were a regular and that your studio was practically down the road. I was so blown away. I then told my mom about it (she and I love animals and I showed her your painting tribute video to your dog to her when her dog passed which we both really enjoyed) and we just thought that was the funniest case of "what a small world". Anyway, thank you for making your videos and for all the great work you do. Keep it up :)
The entry looks incredible. I we were standing next to you all at the beginning of the GW preview at Adepticon. I was in the shadow of greatness with all of you there. Great work.
To say this is “just” your best piece is an understatement. It is one of the best fantasy miniatures I’ve seen and certainly the best Cities of Sigmar piece I’ve ever seen. The cohesion is this piece contrasted with your entry from last year is where I see the most growth in your style, but your growth as a painter is astronomical. Great work Jon.
damn dude looking good! You learnt about the tuffs from the last one you did. All the cloth flowing with the wind in the same direction, just don't forget the tuffts bigger grass will bend with the wind and that banner needs some serious wind to be flapping in the breeze. The horses eye looks so good It keeps drawing me in.
Love the video and the peice is epic ❤ Wishing you all the best from down under in Aus mate 🙏👍 If I’m allowed to throw my 2cents in the ring, I think the stones on the bases highlights are too high and could be toned down a touch, also use another colour glazed through them like a brown in spots might helps set them more in the background than competing against all your nice nmm work
Congratulations on winning a GD with this piece. Excellent work and glad you were able to keep grinding past the bumps from last year's GD. Great stuff
I signed up for a painting competition in my area and I have one model left for my unit entry that is taking forever and the advice of "make it interesting through techniques and new paints" I will definitely be taking forward as I speed through final month!
This is a really cool scene with great painting! Since you addressed the importance of critical feedback, I'd like to suggest adding some blue glazes to the metals to differentiate them more from the stonework. In any case, good luck at the Demons!
Absolutely incredible work Jon! I'm sure someone could find room for critique, but it's not me. I was literally just nodding my head and going "nice" as you added the models to the base, it came together so well!!
I am routing for you. I had a very similar scene to this actually happen in my Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay games a few years back so it's super cool to see something similar. Love it all but doggo is best
Awesome work man, I hope you enjoy Adepticon!! Also, the evolution of Daryl as a character is great -- still giving you shit, but supportive of your endeavors. Daryl deserves his own painting episode.
So excited to see this piece in person man, win or lose you're killing it. Attending Adepticon for my first time (hell, leaving Canada for the first time...) and just amped to check out your work and that of all the other amazing artists attending. 5 days lets gooooooooooooo!
It looks great, Jon! I am personally slaving away at my Resin Beast piece - I thought I was done, but I did a screwup and now I need to retouch a bunch of stuff. Frankly, I think it looks horrible now, but hey! Then at least I will not be disappointed when I don't win anything. See ya at Adepticon!
Very Awesome! Love the dark red on the masked dude but the black cloak and shawl on him seems off on the shading... I don't know what specifically but the lighting is incongruent.

Congrats on your bronze my guy !
Awesome watching your work and seeing it pay off. Congrats man.
I literally flinched when the Cavalier-Marshal tumbled off the base near the end.
Dude, spoiler warning! 😂 J/k
Same, I let out an “oooOOH!” And all of my morning coffee is now on the floor. I care more about the model than the spilled coffee 😂
Same. I reached out a hand like I could stop it.
Spoiler my man! This is the first comment everyone sees!
My heart skipped a beat too 😅
CONGRATS ON THE AWARD JON!!!!!
Glad to see all the hard work you put into this paid off. Was awesome to get to follow along.
You got a bronze daemon, that's great news! Congratulations! 😀
Congratulations on the Bronze win at Golden Demon this weekend! It was great to see your hard work recognized!
Congrats on the Podium Jon! Hope you're happy with the result. You should be proud of of all the hard work you put into the piece
I literally gasped when the dude on the horse fell off the back of the piece. Nice work, dude…. Good luck at GD
Yeah me too lol. A big chip/scratch or a piece of the model snapping and it can be a serious problem when you are trying to make something look perfect. If the banner pole had broken they are near impossible to get back looking flawless.
Haha, yeah, same here xD
Congrats on the Bronze award at the Adepticon Golden Demon! Your entry is amazing!
Congrats on winning bronze! Your work is truly phenominal.
Congratulations on your Bronze Golden Demon brother! Well deserved in a hard fought competition.
Amazing to see your climb in Hobby and TH-cam primacy!
I can sleep well tonight knowing Daryl is on zombie watch.
When you said "Mhm" in the intro, I felt that.
Congrats on the Trophy Jon..... Well done... Great piece
Congratulations on your Bronze finish at Adepticon - a very much deserved recognition of your hard work and talent!
Daryl doing a wellness check is just more wholesome than I was expecting from his appearance.

On a casual note...what is that song during the Rock Philosophy Class and Tree painting?? That techy 8-bit sound SLAPS
@6:23 when the 80's power ballad starts in the montage... *Chef's kiss
I expected to see video of Rocky Balboa training.
JORT STORM
You made it! Congrats! Well done, I hope you're happy!
Absolutely massive congratulations dude, hope it made it worthwhile
Congratulations Jon! Amazing work man. Played for and got.
CONGRATULATIONS!
I actually screamed when the marshal fell off! LOL. Absolutely smashed it Brah! Fingers crossed for you!
I’m a geologist and that rock painting montage was seriously exciting.
Chatted with you at LVO last year. Great work, bud.

HUGE Heartfelt congratulations Jon, you deserve it man! Now get Scotty boy on that podium.. ;)
It looks great when they are all put together on the base.
You need to do a voiceover for the montage track where you just keep singing “push it to the limit!” Over and over. Fantastic work, and good luck!
Grats on 3rd place brother! Good job!
I know the focus isn't the base, but dude, the earth tones and the rocks are actually amazing! By the end of that montage it was looking fantastic!!
Incredible work, that is a beautiful piece. Congratulations!
Did not expect Scuzz Twittly to be checking up on you.😆
Congrats!
I want you to bring home that Golden Demon so damned bad dude. Incredible piece.
The entry looks incredible. I we were standing next to you all at the beginning of the GW preview at Adepticon. I was in the shadow of greatness with all of you there. Great work.
Congrats Jon on getting bronze in your category! Your piece looked amazing.
Dude. The rock painting montage to the electric music is so good. 😂
these vids just get better and better
80s sound montage was brilliant, good luck in the Demon!
Congrats on bronze ninjon, well done
Hey Jon! I like to get variety in stone by stippling tans, rusts, and spots of a medium green lightly over the greys.
Best of luck at Golden Demon!
I really hope you get a Golden Demon. You put a lot of TLC and talent into this.
You did it!
You set a new standard in tactical rocks. Well done man!
That intro was one of your top 5. loved it
damn dude looking good! You learnt about the tuffs from the last one you did. Use a mirror to look at your work in a totally different way. It can make a huge difference. The flipped reflection really helps
Love the video and the peice is epic ❤
Wishing you all the best from down under in Aus mate 🙏👍

@ninjon congratz for the bronze f awsome 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
That shotgun for the zombie bit is perfect and hilarious. Good luck at the golden demon! :)
Can't wait for Adepticon. Hopefully get to meet you and see this model on display.
Looks good in the case. Horse colors added nice depth and movement.
It looks so awesome, definitely need to do some CoS at some point. The horse falling off the plinth was a nightmare. Wishing you the best mate!
Congratulations on winning a GD with this piece. Excellent work and glad you were able to keep grinding past the bumps from last year's GD. Great stuff
I'm not a judge, nor do I play one on TV but this looks great. I applaud you for being able to spend so much time and effort on this piece, good luck!
I feel that intro was inspired by a check-in from the SO to ensure they were still alive
I liked how that dude on the horse took a diver as if to say "GOTCHA!"
Gratz on the demon dude
Loved the natural effect on the stones
My man getting his shotgun ready for turkey season...hell yeah!
Oh, the piece looks good too!
I signed up for a painting competition in my area and I have one model left for my unit entry that is taking forever and the advice of "make it interesting through techniques and new paints" I will definitely be taking forward as I speed through final month!
Congrats on your GD trophy! It was a perfect next chapter in your story. Can’t wait to see what comes in the next season.
This is a really cool scene with great painting! Since you addressed the importance of critical feedback, I'd like to suggest adding some blue glazes to the metals to differentiate them more from the stonework. In any case, good luck at the Demons!
Congrats on the Golden Demon Bronze. I’ve been following you for a long time and really enjoy your personality in the videos.
Absolutely incredible work Jon! I'm sure someone could find room for critique, but it's not me. I was literally just nodding my head and going "nice" as you added the models to the base, it came together so well!!

Ninjon, you are going to win gold this year. this is just amazing.
Way to go on the Golden Demon win!! It was amazing following along with you!
for the whole Rock Philosophy section I was thinking "Rock and stone, brother. Rock and stone."
Awesome work man, I hope you enjoy Adepticon!! Also, the evolution of Daryl as a character is great -- still giving you shit, but supportive of your endeavors.
Daryl deserves his own painting episode.
A Daryl/Herofied ad
So excited to see this piece in person man, win or lose you're killing it. Attending Adepticon for my first time (hell, leaving Canada for the first time...) and just amped to check out your work and that of all the other amazing artists attending. 5 days lets gooooooooooooo!

See ya at Adepticon!
I feel like your really hitting a stride with the TH-cam stuff Joon, my man. Enjoyed this one quite a bit for whatever reason.
Congrats Jon!!!! So happy to see you on the Warcom article. What an amazing feat - and what amazing pieces all around.
Congrats on the bronze!
Amazing work and best of luck with golden demon John, The goody pp's are rootin for you !
Very Awesome! Love the dark red on the masked dude but the black cloak and shawl on him seems off on the shading... I don't know what specifically but the lighting is incongruent.
