Michelle it’s like I’m in the cockpit with you, I love watching someone doing their job so professionally they make it look so simple that anyone could do it and that’s the secret of true professionalism
Beautiful! Been to the Azores many times while in the US Air Force. One time, was invited up to the flight deck on a C-141 for a landing. Awesome experience!
When it comes to Azores, No one can forget how Air Transat Flight 236 which was out of fuel & landed at lajes Airport. Great video Michelle. Stunning video across the approach .
They landed successfully because the military ATC on duty, made all the calculation and guidance to the pilot, otherwise would have been a disaster as the captain was preparing for a ditching.
This landing is on the island of São Miguel (Ponta Delgada). Air Transat 236 "landed" on Terceira Island (Lajes). We are nine islands :) This particular runway on the island of São Miguel is the third longest in the archipelago.
It’s a beautiful island. And the weather can change there very quickly. Have had to divert to Lajes because of it. I hope you get to try someday to circle for rwy 12 which is fun 😊. Love your videos
Oh my god I love your videos! Lived in Portugal in the 80's and always wanted to go to these islands, and love, love this view from the cockpits! How exciting!

My partner and I had 10 fantastic days on Sao Miguel. We self catered and bought all our food at the fantastic farmer's market. The fish counter was an experience in itself. Choose your fish, and it was cleaned while you waited. Ascended Pico da Vara. What a muddy experience that was and cloudy at the top.
Was that landing as smooth as it looked? The different lens view edited with the straight views was nicely done. Piercing through the clouds was a nice effect. The post production is excellent.
Congratulations on this hundredth TH-cam video. The landing was fantastic, really soft and all the best, make more of these videos, they are always very nice to watch.
Awesome Video Michelle, As always, beautiful landing, beautiful landscape. and we can also appreciate the beauty of our planet from the Cockpit of you airplane, thank you so much, highly appreciated.
Ponta Delgada, on the island of S. Miguel in the Azores, is one of the most beautiful cities in Portugal, but on that day it became the most beautiful. Welcome to Portugal
I didn't know Azores is located that far from mainland Portugal in the middle of Atlantic Ocean. But what greenery and scenery it has as we often get to see from these Islands. Definitely in bucket list now. Are these seasonal flights? Congratulations on 💯 and have a nice week ahead!🎉🎉
The islands are amazing, I'm pretty sure you'll love them! Sao Miguel is well-connected to mainland Europe. In low season, there are fewer flights, but from Lisboa or Porto there will still be several flights per week or even per day. So if you don't mind a stop-over in these cities, Sao Miguel is only a ticket away ;-) We visited Sao Miguel in November. Very calming, a bit rainy, but still worth the time. Don't miss bathing in the Atlantic Ocean with some hot springs underneath the stormy waters.
@@fallinginthed33p I never visited Tenerife, but Fuerteventura. _That_ difference is huge ;-) Sao Miguel is very green, not as hot as the Canarian Islands. And there are less tourists, I guess. And for me, it feels much more "isolated". While Fuerteventura is located ca. 100km away from Africa, Azores and Lisboa are 1.400km away from main land Portugal. It's a nice feeling to stay in the middle of the Ocean, literaly. I love both the Azores and Sao Miguel.
Wow my congratulations Michelle for landing your BOENG 737 Airplane in Azores Airport, Portugal. I love your flight take off and landing videos and keep on supporting you Michelle.
Hello Michelle, what a beautiful landing in Koh Samui. My parents are Portuguese descends. We are 4 siblings in the Leitao family. Only the eldest sister can speak the language. I can understand but cannot reply fluently. Most of the Portuguese migrants that came to Perth. Are either on the fishing trawlers or are brick layers. I leave for Koh Samui on the 28th July just for 8nights. I have a 3 acre property where I have a couple of sheep, 2 Emus, and plenty of fruit trees.
Welcome to the wonderful island to the Azores. It was a great pleasure to know, that you " flew " to the island of São Miguel, in the Azores. The island where I live. Compliments Take care 👍 I
This was truly an amazing approach. Really loved it and can't wait for more of these posts! I have a question about what place you learned to become a pilot?
I'd fly with the Dutch Pilot Girl anywhere! Started my U.S. Navy career as an enlisted man with Fleet Tactical Support Squadron 21 (VR-21) -- the "Pineapple Airlines" in October 1968 (they flew mostly C-118's back then) -- before getting more adventurous and primitive flying experiences in Vietnam in 1970 and 1971 (Air America -- amazing Pilatus PC-6 Porter, Air Force - C-130's and C-47's, Army - UH-1 Huey helicopters, and even a Navy -- CH-46 Sea Knight 'copter). Of course, none of those flying experiences could compare to the smooth handling you display with that beautiful Boeing 737. Salute to you for this 100th video and your spirit and professionalism from a now long-retired U.S. Navy chief petty officer in the Pacific Northwest of the USA! 😍
I actually guessed right yesterday. I guessed Azores because that's the beautiful chain of Islands in the middle of the Atlantic which my family is from.
Another 1st class landing, you make it look so effortless, with all the added information popping up about the plane and even the sites on the new destination very good production once again Michelle , well done 🙌
Hello Michelle, your videos are always inspiring for aspiring pilots like us. By the way I want you to make a video on how to prepare for flight school interview and airline recruitment interviews.
Ca. 1967 I was a passenger on an Air Force C47 flying from LPLA to LPAZ with a stop at LPPD. At that time, LPPD was a grass runway. We had to make an initial low pass over the field to scare the cows away before we could land.
Great job on landing ! ……. Been into the military base on Terceira several times in a C-130, really strong crosswinds sometimes. One time in particular with full rudder and aileron to maintain centerline from severe crosswind landing. Wheeeeee !
Really love your video's as i travelled so much in my former job in times when you would be in de cockpit for 10-15 minutes and loved to get the best views and chat with the Pilots regarding clouds and weather; learned so much!
