I was removing old slate shingles from my roof many years ago, and even though I was wearing work gloves, a very small peice of slate splintered, fell into my glove and got shoved under my fingernail😰. I still remember the pain that caused, went to the ER to get it removed, but it still caused an infection that swelled my whole hand and split the nail because of the swelling. It took about 3 or 4 months to fully recover!

@@DrMudgil It sure was... plus it made my lower arm and hand look like it belonged to the Elephant Man! And don't get me started on the smell once the pus started draining🤢 Yuck!
