Great timing! Glad to hear it helped you out! Loads more tutorials and C4D resources at cgshortcuts.com (you can also get help directly with your projects).
@@CGShortcuts I still have a lot of ideas:) But I’m trying to find some time to create a series of videos. I hope to finish them at the end of the year;)
Just play with the Bendiness, Stretchyness and softbody settings untill you get the look youwant - invcreasing substeps will also make the cable more firm
Are there reasons to go with a cloth over the rope tag? I've never really used either but in this instance, I'd have thought you'd want to use a rope tag. Same question on a sweeped spline object over an editable polygon. C4D changed the simulation setup and now things are breaking when I play around with the settings 😆
The problem with rope is that it usually spins uncontrollably so I rarely use it. There's always multiple ways to do things in C4D, you can always give it a try though
Excellent. I'm just wondering, why not use the rope dynamics? I'm trying that out, but the rope does not connect to the mic.. At least your set up works but I don't understand why rope tag falls to the ground..
how to fix the problem at 4.00 where the cable just hangs straight down? there needs to be a lot more stiffness so the very end of the cable stays parallel to the mic
We've been making tutorials since R19 so there's plenty for everyone. C4D has changed a lot since then though, the new unified dynamics stystem alone is worth the upgrade
Just that last bit on it's own is super valuable! I can see so many use cases for that
Great to hear it! Hundreds more tips like this on our website cgshortcuts.com (you can also get help directly with your projects).
Can't believe I literally needs this tutorial right now and it's been published 23h ago, thankssss a lot

Love it. Thanks!
Cheers Niels, you've been very quiet on the tutorial front, when can we expect some new stuff from you?

@@Nielsc4dtutorials looking forward to it!
thank you, never knew how to make cloth object to hold its form
There's a few other ways too, we've done a bunch of dynamics videos over on our website cgshortcuts.com
This is great! Thanks!
No problem Victor
Really cool trick & I really needed this!
What If I want the cable to be more rigid-ish? More like a rubber hose instead of a rope?

Great tutorial as always can you make popping popcorn tutorial
Cheers! This tutorial should help - I've used the same technique before for popping popcorn: th-cam.com/video/2VRoQJaEZ6A/w-d-xo.html
Nice Tuto

you are the best
aww cheers @chalvlad!

Rope dynamics can act a bit funny sometimes, I found this method more stable
Hi, nice tutorial. The "Connector Tag", what command keys use to call this connector?
hit SHIFT + C then type Connector to bring it up
@@CGShortcuts Thanks!

there needs to be a lot more stiffness so the very end of the cable stays parallel to the mic
you can probably use a map in Mix animation to limit the effect
I really wanna join in membership program but i not use Cinema 4D 2024. I still use Cinema 4D R20 :) i think i cant follow along with tutorial
