Just got a flash back of when I was a kid and rode this. I was in the driver seat with a bunch of people older than me and I just remember feeling so awesome afterwards cause everyone was congratulating me on my good driving.
When I was little, the ride broke down right when Indiana Jones was swinging on the rope when the ball came down. We were stuck there for like 15 minutes. I remember that was so much fun. Great for pictures too. When the ride went back on, the ball came rolling at out, and scared us all half to death. Good memories.
When I was a kid, I went to disneyland a week after 9/11. There were maybe 4 other families at the park. I rode this ride 13 times in a row, non-stop. So much nostalgia
ContinuumSpanner they made the lines longer for more people to stand in line and lot lead to much on the outside as lines used to be smaller but lines prevented-traffic outside almost each ride
My family and I only got the Chamber of Earthly Riches years ago before the projections, but I still looked into the eyes of Mara. I kinda got scared when the eyes on the face started to glow and flicker and didn’t enjoy the rest of the ride.
I wish this was filmed more recently because the new special effects for this ride are so awesome. The statue in the beginning looks at you then glares and rusts up instead of just shooting a laser out of its eye
I went on this yesterday, it was amazing for the first time! The twists and turns are awesome, I can't describe the feeling when we (my car ) were almost crushed by that Boulder!
I remember when the ride first opened, the line went all the way out the door. It stalled in the middle of the ride. Everyone was like, "is this part of the ride?" lol
My parents rode this. I would've ridden it had I gone there now, but I was like 8 at the time. Then again, if we went to California now, we wouldn't go to Disney land. We go to magic mountain, Knotts, discovery kingdom, and great America!

I remember my brother's face the first time we tried to go on this ride. It was so sad because he wasn't tall enough. After a few years of trying and growing, I remember when we went again and he was so excited when he was finally tall enough. So many memories with just one ride :)
This, besides the ORIGINAL Star Tours, is my favorite Disneyland ride. I was pretty lucky and went to Disneyland at a time where there were practically NO lines anywhere at the park. (Early Spring 2008). The ambience was downright amazing. Yet again, I was probably EXTREMELY lucky.
I love this ride. I think I went on it before I watched the movies, but I was really young when I went on the ride for the first time and my memory is kind of fuzzy from that time. I remember being scared of that massive snake. I'll admit this, I looked into Mara's eyes and doomed our whole party to a fiery hell of eternal suffering. The last time I went on it the ride broke down, apparently it was because one of those damn selfie sticks was dropped. I hate those stupid things, the mechanic was pretty cool but it was really inconvenient for not just my dad and myself but everyone on the ride. It kind of brought us out of the illusion.
I was on that ride when I was 7 and I was the only one who closed there eyes at the skeleton thingy part and everybody looked at me as if i was weirdo so my dad joined in with me XD
This ride is wayyyy to awesome! I rode it for the first time last November. Our group got lucky cause we just happened to be there after the ride went through some maintenance, short line! LOL! But after we got out the line got huge real quick! Didn't get to ride it a second time :(

The ride only has one path, with different lighting and effects depending on which 'door' you go through. The Chamber of Destiny has 5 doors, two on each side of the track. The ceiling and walls rotate across the 5 doors only showing three at a time to make the single track appear in any of the three positions.
Tbh, yesterday when I went, it was my first time going on indiana jones and I didn't know it was gonna be bumpy and yeah. I thought it was gonna be a slow ride about cavemen. Then it was so fast and I was screaming so loud. I couldn’t here myself because the sound was so loud. Then the sharp turn came and I thought I almost flew out but it was just a sharp turn. Lmao.
but the twilight tower of terror takes longer.it's a long even when the prada is going on.you've got your first line to go into a tiny room to watch a little video which I wish you could chose to skip if you seen it already just keeps you longer from the ride and when you are finally able to get into the ride area holy cow it the line even longer than the outside.when ever I go to Disney I only do it once and during the prada sure I miss it but I can see it another night.it's worth it cause when your done it feels like your stomach is in your mouth.but still the line and how boring the waiting areas are.

I just got back from Disneyland; went on this twice. The first time the huge rock didn't roll and both times the idol's eyes were dark. :/ I forgot that they glowed at all and I was like "They should have the eyes glow..." lol. For being one of the most popular rides I'd think they would try a little harder to make sure everything worked properly. I know there's only so much they can do and they can't predict most malfunctions but...just sayin'.
It really depends on what time of day you get on the ride, I suggest you go right when the park opens, and get on it first things, this is when they have less problems and there isn't so many problems. This is a popular ride, and at the end of the night when the line is an hour to two hours long the try to push as many people though as possible. The glowing eyes tend to get over looked towards the end of the night and the boulder because they don't have enough time to reset at the rate the ride is moving. For a better experiences go first thing in the morning when you can walk right on. Any time past 2 pm will most likely have these problems.

I think it also adds to the theming and helping guests to be immersed even before they get on the ride.

When this ride first opened it was before they had the Fast Pass system. Hence the nickname.
