I actually worked on the set of Black Adam when it was being shot at Trilith Studios in Fayetteville Georgia (20 minutes South of Atlanta off of I-85) and Dr. Fate WAS NOT LIKE THE ONE ON THAT FIGURE! It was more traditional. They would actually haul it up on a wire to give us a site line where to look up in the sky to see where Dr. Fate would be.

The scene will be when the Justice society is in the square trying to convince Black Adam to change his ways. Also a lot of time the actors wear a mo-cap suit so the costume is completely digital. This also allows them to.change the color of the suit at the click of a button.
Great review. I love the look of Hawkman. I’m definitely going to stick with my previous release of Dr Fate. I’m still on the fence with Atom Smasher, but that might change after the movie. Thanks Brad!
I actually love Dr Fates new helmet. Its very mystical and creepy. In a good way. He doesnt need eyes to see. That sort of thing. And it almost looks like something happened to it and it was damaged in some way leading to its current appearance. Given the asymmetry
That Dr. Fate looks pretty great. It's a miracle! They gave him an actual usable ab joint! In spite of myself, the helmet design's growing on me. It looks *weird* and creepy. Hopefully it's justified in the movie. And I wouldn't say Hawkman being black is part of a "diversity agenda" (not that that would be a bad thing). If Carter's supposed to be an ancient Egyptian, this is what he'd look like. If he was a white guy in ancient Egypt, he'd probably be called "Whiteman" because that would stick out more to his peers than his bird motif!

Alright Brad, so as usual, I agree, agree, agree with you. We need an uber classic Dr. Fate and Hawkman yesterday! With correct shiny gold helmet and wings that open and close!
IMPORTANT!!! After taking apart my doctor fate, I've discovered that the ab section needs rotating, his back is facing the front out of the box. The articulation is better once it has been spun around.
Hmm, of these three, Dr. Fate's definitely the one I'd want, but I do like all three. Really sucks you got the QC issues, that's unfortunate. The head swap does look pretty awesome. I don't mind the two-tone cape, looks nice. That he can do a flight pose is great. Don't mind Hall being black, do agree the wings opening would have really been nice. I guess with the mace, it just wasn't going to fit the budget for a standard price release. The elbows aren't great, but not as obnoxious as the recent Batman's elbow issues. Satisfied with the flight pose. Wasn't going to get this one, but it's growing on me. Atom Smasher looks the part, though I might be more likely to pick up the bigger version since, yeah, a regular sized Atom Smasher doesn't feel like something I'd have a lot of a reason to have unless I saw it for cheap.
Any plans to check out the Atom Smasher Mega-fig? I feel like the standard release feels pretty lack lustre just because Al’s whole Deal is that he’s massive!
I got 3 of these figures too, but I went with Cyclone instead of Atom Smasher. My Dr Fate didn't have the ankle problem, but the chest piece was VERY off. Also I think his middle torso is actually backwards. That gap looks better when you swing that piece around. My Hawkman also might have a wing issue, his wings are at a pretty weird angle like they're too far forward at the top and swoop way back on the bottom.
I love the look of the Dr Fate figure. It is funny how much bluer the color appears on camera. I think I am going to do some dry brushing on him for some accents. It is almost black in person, but even that has a nice look. The gold is very nice. I also swapped the heads. I used the longer peg from the Injustice figure, too.

Fate is pretty good. Didn't realize you could turn the legs up like that in his meditative state. Thanks! If there's one thing that Todd has not figured out at all yet, it's attachable wings. While this Hawkman figure is pretty neat, and very visually impressive, those wings are an abomination. Even the non closing, and very cumbersome wings of the WW84 armor version were better, and that's saying something. And the wings on Batman Beyond and Red Robin are fine for what those figures are, but Todd could've seriously learned from that Mattel Hawkman (far right) for how to do wings. At least the mace is cool! Atom Smasher is pretty neat. Not sure if it's good or just greedy (or both) to make a normal size AS and a mega fig one. Feel like I need to buy both. As someone who got the other figures from this movie (minus Sabaac), let me just quickly say, Cyclone is okay, but she has the most "meh" face, her long hair gives minimal head movement, and it's hard to balance her in her swirling air base without her falling over. Cloaked Black Adam has the heaviest cape BY FAR of any caped McFarlane figure. How he's able to stand straight up without falling back is beyond me! His head popped right off right out the box, but even when I put it back on, the nature of the sculpt combined with the cloak and hood make for minimal head movement range, and the paint is lacking. It's probably overall the worst figure of the six I got, and I could recommend you pass, HOWEVER, do absolutely get the uncloaked Black Adam figure. That might be the best figure in the wave. Very good range of motion, excellent sculpt and face scan, great paint app, same lightning effects as Page Punchers Adam, but still cool. That's the one to get.

The new classic doomguy from his doom eternal line has excellent forward and back ab articulation so I know Todd knows how to work these figures , he just needs to try harder

They clearly took some cues from Robert Vendetti's Hawkman run and that is what i thought when i first saw the suit. And he is very recognisable as Hawkman as well. I don't see the point of the criticism there. This was a very bigoted comment and borderline racist. Smh.

Actually, in an old DC animated JL movie, one of the Hawkmen is black. The "race" of hawk people was diverse skin color wise.

Honestly Hawkman actor look amazing and if I remeber correctly, he has used a red and gold suit before in the comics.

Hawkman is a definite : Megafig Atom Smasher a probable if they can be bothered to paint the arm pins to match the suit colour.

They all look very good my only gripe is Hawkmans mace is a bit flimsy. But I actually really like the look of Atom Smasher.
