On this episode of Weekenderlander, Talon and I take our Tacomas up into the high country and have fun splashing around near some alpine lakes up towards 13,000' in the Colorado rockies. Just a quick overnighter, but we had a fun mini overland trip with some fun video, photos, good eats and hangs. Camping far from the city and way up high gives some great views of the stars. Definitely prefer the ASMR overlanding experience . I love listening to the crunch as the tires roll over rocks. The different sounds the truck makes as all the different systems and components work in tandem to move the rig up and over rock..trudging through mud, deep water, and just the absolute stillness of nature in the background? Perfection.

I actually think you guys need to go more in the snow! I would like to see how capable these rigs are and some tips and tricks you guys do to stay warm.
@@KewkieMunster Talon has a few from this past winter. Diesel heaters and picking trails with the least amount of snow is the way 😂

@@LastLineOfDefense I switched my second gen to total chaos +2 long travel with sway bar. Yesterday did Moapa to Caliente NV all washed out from the monsoon season. These trucks are amazing if done right. I had 150 miles on highway back to Vegas, after being the first person through on completely washed out trail for 75 miles. Worth a hard look.
Win for the Toyo MT's. I've been running Toyo MT's on my FJ Cruiser since 2008 and like them so much that I now run them on my brand new Tacoma TRD Off-road that I just built up. For me, they are the best all around tire for off-roading. Great video, keep em coming.

I like the low music and natural sounds as well.
Overalls are very good on the farm/Homstead especially insulated ones in the winter and you can just pull them on over your clothes you are wearing in the house when you have to go feed the animals.
As a 22 Y.O., I enjoy music. All kinds... As I get older I find myself enjoying the silence and simple sounds of my vehicle and nature.. These videos make me genuinely feel happy. Just a couple of dudes enjoying the fresh air and their trucks! 4x4 access cab owner and will never get rid of mine! Need more videos like these

I want to tell you I appreciate you taking the time and filming 🎥 more on your trip. I know how much time it takes to do that, my wife is a photographer and a 4 hour trip will typically take us 3 extra hour because of all the stops for her shots. Next time your out and it's snowing and there's a possibility that ice on the tail take a pick axe and all you need to do is break up that ice and your tires will grab no problem. Keep up the great work

Old Trapper is the best i always carry it when i travel or Camp.

Think it's always cool to do a mix of sounds, like to hear the sounds of nature and the trucks, some scenes a little music isn't too bad or mix where you can hear both.
Love the Tacos. Almost as good as my Power Wagon, except I can have a sway bar when I need it and disconnect when I don't. Just bustin' your chops. Great video! Love the scenery.

Old trapper Teriyaki beef jerky is the best its so tender and really good. love the ASMR aspect of this vid, love listening to the trucks crunching on the rocks, but I also love the cenematic style shots with music as well but awesome place you guys picked wish we had places like that here in Texas in the dallas area sadly we dont. I would have to drive 4 to 6 hours to get anyplace similar to your camp spot.

i don't know all that much about IFS but i have sway bar quick disconnects on my wrangler TJ so i'm sure there's a company out there that makes them for an IFS setup. love the channel man great content and useful information keep up the great work my friend.

The bag pattern I vote to be some form of multicam but make some of the "splotches" of color be in the shape of your rigs and logo. Still get the same look you love but with your flair and twist.
EDIT: O and the ASMR overlanding was sweet. I need like a compilation of a bunch of overlanding trips to equal a few hours and just play in in the background at birthday/holiday parties, when going to bed, cleaning the house, needing to distract my three boys with something cool... all the things haha.

the effort that goes into making these videos is amazing and always appreciated. I would try to do some shots with a drone stationary in same position as a camera would be then fly it to me. I'm sure it's not that easy or quality isn't as good or else I'm sure yall would be doing that already
