- Today is the first day of the People's Trust for Endangered Species' (PTES) dormouse week! To celebrate this here is a film by accomplished wildlife film maker Tom Hartwell in which we meet Ian White from PTES on the Isle of Wight.
Ian introduces us to the work of the PTES as part of the National Dormouse Monitoring Programme, ptes.org/campa....
Ian shares his tips and techniques for determining whether there are hazel dormice in our woodlands and what can be done to monitor their numbers. This is part one of a two part mini series. In part two we learn what we can do to manage our woodlands for dormice and other wildlife. This second film will be released on 21 October.
A licence is required to take, disturb or possess hazel dormice to survey for research, conservation or development projects. For more information on the legal requirements please see www.gov.uk/gov....
