I've always thought this entire season was a misdirect with the "triangle." I don't think Elizabeth has really been debating between Lucas and Nathan, I think it's always been about Lucas and her feelings of guilt about moving on after Jack's death. Every time she sees Nathan (and I really like him too!), she's reminded of her life with Jack. Grief isn't a straight line - she took a step with Lucas when they started dating, but I don't think she expected to feel so guilty and conflicted. My guess... releasing Nathan of his feelings of guilt helped her to start releasing her own.
Exactly ! What I've felt all season; the triangle is more between her, Lucas and Jack- and by that extension the last two episodes with Nathan perhaps. If she hadn't made a choice and hadn't made all the progress in a relationship with Lucas, I would have felt L & E ending up maybe unlikely. But the narrative and the writing has shown us the opposite and I believe in the story we're being told.
How happy and excited are all my fellow Lucabeth fans?! 😘 This was the ending we and Elizabeth deserved, the better man FOR HER - I should add that because I do love Nathan also - finally won out. I knew it, I just knew that he would be her one, her soulmate, her life partner! 👏

Lucas just embodies what love is each episode. He doesnt need to say the 3 words cos his actions and other words fulll of love and selflessness says it and shows it. I am rooting for Lucas and Elizabeth. He just showed us what love is and true love.
Lucas and Elizabeth have almost kissed twice now, and ya know what they say...third time is a charm!! Tonights finale HAS to be him!! He is so genuine, not pressuring her, by letting her choose for herself. He knows what he feels. He knows he loves her. He shows it in every way possible without making her feel forced or pressured. Sometimes, when you love someone, you have to let them go, and figure things out for a while. That takes a lot of courage, and is not done selfishly. It hurts, but when you are in love you have their best interests at heart. You selflessly put your self out there. Vulnerably. Lucas is the best choice for Elizabeth.

Lucas forever! He shows her in so many ways how much he loves her, even to the point of letting her go if that's what she wants. Nathan can have Faith; they are more suited to each other.
I am not losing hope. Deep in m heart I believe that Elizabeth will choose Lucas. They have shared happy moments together. They've demonstrated in their various interactions fondness of each other, so many things in common between them, understanding, forgiveness when one offends the other, and most of all, devotion to each other expressed not necessarily by words but by their actions. They are each other's inspiration in their goals in life. There;s a spark that's built in in their hearts.from the moment they met. Only they know and feel it! Soon, we will know and feel it, too!

Yes! He was suffering too much because she wasn't transparent in letting him know what was going on with her. I felt the pain Lucas was feeling because of his love. It must have pained him deeply to feel that it was best to let her go. I am so happy that Elizabeth came to her senses before he left for good.
I love this scene because I feel like lucas has been building this feeling for a few episodes. But I'm also glad he didn't wait to say it and he told her as soon as he felt her eyeing Nathan. I do think he thinks there's more going on than there is. It was so painful to hear him say what he did and it demonstrates how good he is for her. I hope she realizes it and chooses to choose him after being set free. I think that will show lucas that she's willing to chase him and fight for love, that it's not one sided
I am for Elizabeth and Lucas. MNo need to have a similiar story line... Elizabeth with a Mountie. A new beginning with Lucas, they have a lot in common, remember Elizabeth is from a wealthy family and he encourages her in many ways. Lucas is the one.
Lucas is a class act. E does not deserve him or treat him well. I would hate for Lucas to leave with Carson. Remember Lucas said “I moved on, started over , somewhere new”. Sad we lose 2 characters. Don’t ALL WOMEN. want a Lucas in their lives?
Lucas needed to step back because he has earlier told Elizabeth ' I will be nothing but honest with you'. He has always wanted Elizabeth's happiness more than anything and this move is consistent with how his character has been written because from what he has seen he has assumed N & E have feelings. I still believe Elizabeth made her choice in Episode 2 or more decisively in 4. Or one could say in S6 during the ladies choice dance or in S7 after their 'non-dates'. It has always been Nathan's reactions/ circumstances that make her pull back after every step forward with Lucas. Holding on to Nathan is holding on to Jack; setting both free is the way to move forward to a new chapter in her life with Lucas.
Elizabeth was attracted to Lucas but she knew Nathan had her heart. The heart loves who it loves. And although it was sad seeing Lucas sad, life goes on. I know Team Lucas wanted her to choose Lucas, but he deserves true love too. I hope the writers will find someone that will be even better than Elizabeth to sweep him off his feet. Because even though I am Team Nathan for Elizabeth, I want Lucas to be happy too. One more episode and we can all be Team Hope Valley again, hopefully.

He deserves someone who doesn't get reminded of the first great love of her life every time she sees him if they're together romantically; or feel heaviness and anxiety around him when he he tries to be more than a friend. He will find someone who cherishes and returns his declarations of love and complements him- bringing some joy to him and challenging him to grow as a person, just like Elizabeth and Lucas do for each other.
Something to think about the show deviating from the books. I bought WCTH Season 1-5 and the 1st DVD is a Bonus that has interviews with Janette Oke, Michael Landon Jr & other director's & producers. Ms Oke said that the books are about a Teacher & a Mountie, but that wasn't the just of the stories. The shows were geared towards the family. They wanted the shows to show Happiness, Community, Hope, Belief, Loyalty, Friendship, etc. So when they decided to have Jack die instead of being replaced, just maybe they had insight that they may need to deviate further for the good of the show. I'm definitely Team Lucas so I'll be extremely disappointed if Elizabeth chooses Nathan, but by the time Season 9 comes I'll be ready to watch again & see where the stories go.
Its so nice to see videos pop up about Lucas and Elizabeth. It feels like their fans are in the minority. It has seemed like a different hallmark movie the first half of season 8 and the second. Thanks for the reminder that there is still hope for Lucas.

I saw a sneak peak from the finale. She goes to Nathan in the Mountie Office and to Lucas in the cafe. For my part, I would say that privately to someone I would turn down. To someone I want to tell that I "choose" him, I would also say it in public. I hope our hearts won't be broken in the final #TeamLucas
Idk. the clips in the preview are not necessarily in the right order and the scenes can be unrelated. To me, the cafe scene could be also about Elizabeth acknowledging that indeed there is something between her and Nathan, something that she needs to identify and address. Happening early in the episode it could create another misunderstanding, Lucas taking her words as confirmation that yes, indeed, she loves Nathan.
Elizabeth seemed she needed Lucas’s help with something when she rushed into the saloon. IDK I didn’t get the impression her purpose was to gently tell Lucas she no longer had feelings for him. I’d like to think she wanted his help with Landis removing her from teaching and redistricting to county schools.
This is so touching & real. Shows the pain of what they had to work through to get to where they really connected. Lucas was so patient, so willing to put her needs first and ultimately to let her go so she was free to work things out and follow her heart. I love and respect Nathan and feel he deserves love as well but N & E are meant to be together.
Lucas will leave Hope Valley unless Elizabeth proclaims her love for him. And I know he isn’t leaving the show so I am convinced she will Pick Lucas. Also their love story is so beautiful and he has been so patient and I know she loves him. She will realize it when she thinks he is leaving Hope Valley. Team Lucabeth❤️

This made me feel sad for Lucas. I am team Lucas (though I do like Nathan,he is a good man. I feel for him and wish him the very best). I was thinking Hallmark being VERY predictable would have it be Nathan but now after seeing some of the promos I DK. We were warned to expect twists & turns & it could go either way.
In the finale of season 6 when elizabeth choose lucas as her dance partner i already know that her love interest will be lucas as you can see in season 7 there are lots of scenes of them together same in season 8 . I guess the storyline for elizabeth's love interest has already been set
It’s so obvious to me almost 100% obvious 99.9% that it’s going to be Lucas for Elizabeth and here’s why. Well several whys. Lucas has seen this all from a distance these are things that he seems to think is happening with Elizabeth. I believe that Nathan represents Jack. It was more clear than anything the other night when he came into her house and she took care of his coat and she reminisced about Jack.. Also it is not a coincidence that Lucas hasn’t gone into Elizabeth’s house. He wants Elizabeth’s full heart and right now it’s warring between the ghost of Jack/Nathan and him until her heart is his Lucas will not go into that house.If you notice Elizabeth has never even remotely have a near kiss with Nathan. It’s always been Lucas and I believe the big kiss or the kiss will be with Lucas!!!!!
Susan I agree with you with warming up Nathan coat and state I would warm up Jack coat before he went out in the cold. Question if Elizabeth see Nathan for Nathan or Jack substitute. Good theory on why Lucas doesn't enter Elizabeth's home.

Elizabeth doesn't deserve Lucas Bouchard. She stopped being the protagonist and became the great villain of this story. Now I'm only watching because of him, and I strongly hope that Fiona is his new romantic partner, because she is the opposite of Elizabeth: a strong, determined woman who is well-defined in her choices. No woman in Hope Valley deserves Lucas. .. Not Fiona or anyone. She has been nothing buy trouble for Lucas. She spied on him and reported him to Bill. She will eavesdrop on his phone calls and then she created the whole oil sale debacle that tarnished Lucas image.... Lucas needs a new person on the show if its not Elizabeth.... I don't like the way the whole town treated him.... he deserves much better

I continue to feel for Lucas. Frankly Elizabeth has treated him poorly recently (though in fairness she had been hard on Nathan and her BFF Rosemary). My gut feeling is that has been laying then ground work for her choosing Nathan in keeping w/ the Hallmark protocol. Erin Krakow also said that the loser takes it like a champ which after seeing this sad interaction at the end of episode 11 (which was a disappointment to me somewhat) that summation would fit Lucas far better than Nathan. That said, the other thing that comes to mind is that the main characters (all of whom did a great job of NOT revealing ANYTHING) have said that this season was full of surprises twists & turns. I still have trouble seeing a smooth transition (on Elizabeth’s part) to the big smooch with Nathan though there is some obvious caring/attraction. Ugh... looking forward to Season 9 in 2022 (assuming the rapture doesn’t happen first). 🙄😮😜😳

It seems that whatever way the writers go, they need to make the losing team believe it. They have 1 episode left to make it happen. I am team Lucas until the end, but feel that if she picks N - then Lucas was used. N did not have much courting with E, so i would imagine TL fans could have a hard time trying to understand. On the other hand if Lucas is chosen TN fans may have a hard time trying to understand why Lucas was chosen. Oh! well i suspect that some fans will leave the show after the final because they are heartbroken or may not care for each male lead. I sure hope it all works out in the end. Helen said Lucas was only staying for a woman, but if he is turned down, he has no reason to stay. Pain would be everywhere and i wonder how he could heal from the loss. Nathan has Allie if E did not choose him. Time will tell.
I believe the triangle was E/Jack/ Lucas. I believe that Nathan represents Jack. I feel that E sees Jack in Nathan with the red serge. That would explain the deep connection. Every time she saw N/J she was feeling guilty with Lucas.

I just watched an interview with Chris McNally who plays Lucas. He said the production was having a hard time which direction would be better (wow even them too!) so they picked the person that would give her and him the opportunity to have more interesting stories and arcs. Putting aside our picks who do y'all think. Hmmm.
Wow that's crazy 😂!! I think Elizabeth and him would have a lot of interesting stories together. Him learning how to be a good father to Baby Jack, her opening herself up more, him giving her tips on more books she'd write, etc. Though her and Nathan could have interesting stories as well, them becoming a family of four, etc. But it might also remind me too much of her and Jack's storylines. I can see it both ways. The relationships w/ Allie & w/ baby Jack (pro Nathan), the change from mountie wife/life and their shared interests (pro Lucas)
I think Lucas and Elizabeth would have so Many interesting stories to tell . Lucas’s mother and Elizabeth dynamic would be interesting. Elizabeth meeting Lucas’s dad and Lucas meeting her family. Lucas learning how to be a father to baby Jack. Which I think he will make a wonderful father. Their love story is so beautiful I want it to continue.❤️
I can not understand why the reason for a series that is delivering certain values that today a lot has been lost only has as the essence of a book, I am sure that if Jack had continued in the series they could have delivered another type of teaching at the of marriage with their pro and con or the other the commitment of the actors not only with a production team but with the people who see them. Sincerely for everything that Jack did despite being a Mounted Police, with the risks he always ran, until he overcomes those fears and marries Elizabeth, and for her it was Distressing when He had to do his duty, but that strength of them and hope was what they transmitted also Jack was going to leave the Mounted Police on missions outside the town, and he falls dead, which I do not know if it was because Daniel (Jack) wanted to withdraw or because they killed the character, then two arrive characters conquering Elizabeth's love, which does not leave me teaching because usually, when one is a single mother or a widow, the time is dedicated to children, work, in his case writing, teaching, preparing classes, it is believed that one he will have time to worry about who I like or who I choose or who causes me butterflies, I feel that when Jack died there was a break in the series. I also wouldn't be happy for Jack to appear as a ghost, but if it would be interesting for him to come back I think it would bring more interest to the series.
If they choose Lucas it will totally go against the original story line. Janette Oke would be upset. It is her books that the series are copied from. A teacher and a Mountie. The writers can deviate from the books but not that much.
Technically When Calls the Heart the show is based on a mix of the When Calls the Heart book series and When Courage Calls (which is from the Return to the Canadian West series), so it doesn't really follow the book that much already. I don't think they have to put her with a mountie again because Daniel Lissing left the show. Once Jack died, they completely deviated from the book, so I think that leaves them open to choosing whoever they want to be with Elizabeth now. Definitely see where you're coming from though, and I get your point. :)
I see your point as well. But I still maintain that they can’t change the story that much. They had no choice when Daniel Lissing left. The way I see it they are in the process of putting the story back to the way it was meant to be. Lucas is just another Charles. They are going back to the start and fixing what was broken. I may be wrong of course. I did read all the Canadian west series. If they choose Lucas it is no longer Janette Oke Canadian west series. Just a shadow of it. But I really don’t know how that works with her contract with the show. I am of course a Nathan fan because I read and enjoyed the books. I have watched this series from the start and am disappointed in the way they extended this so called love triangle for so long. It was a ploy to get their fan base up. It worked in a sense but I believe they will loose more fans in the end. Someone will be disappointed. Too bad. It was a very good show. It is no longer the relaxing and enjoyable show it used to be. I admit though it it does have some good story lines possibilities if there is a season 9. Hope it all goes well for everyone. You are doing a good job. You caught my attention. Good luck 💕

How can you let someone go when you never really had them? Elizabeth has always been drawn more to Nathan and has nothing to do with Jack or his memory. Blind fold on she didn’t know it was Nathan’s hands she was holding, but it’s who she felt a connection and Jack had nothing to do with it. She’s more playful with Nathan and seeks him out. Lucas does things on a big scale to impress Elizabeth. I like Lucas character but not for Elizabeth. A mother’s view 😊, they’re close to my daughter and son’s age 😂

Lucas needed to step back because he has earlier told Elizabeth ' I will be nothing but honest with you'. He has always wanted Elizabeth's happiness more than anything and this move is consistent with how his character has been written because from what he has seen he has assumed N & E have feelings. I still believe Elizabeth made her choice in Episode 2 or more decisively in 4. Or one could say in S6 during the ladies choice dance or in S7 after their 'non-dates'. It has always been Nathan's reactions/ circumstances that make her pull back after every step forward with Lucas. Holding on to Nathan is holding on to Jack; setting both free is the way to move forward to a new chapter in her life with Lucas.
Elizabeth was attracted to Lucas but she knew Nathan had her heart. The heart loves who it loves. And although it was sad seeing Lucas sad, life goes on. I know Team Lucas wanted her to choose Lucas, but he deserves true love too. I hope the writers will find someone that will be even better than Elizabeth to sweep him off his feet. Because even though I am Team Nathan for Elizabeth, I want Lucas to be happy too. One more episode and we can all be Team Hope Valley again, hopefully.

He deserves someone who doesn't get reminded of the first great love of her life every time she sees him if they're together romantically; or feel heaviness and anxiety around him when he he tries to be more than a friend. He will find someone who cherishes and returns his declarations of love and complements him- bringing some joy to him and challenging him to grow as a person, just like Elizabeth and Lucas do for each other.

Something to think about the show deviating from the books. I bought WCTH Season 1-5 and the 1st DVD is a Bonus that has interviews with Janette Oke, Michael Landon Jr & other director's & producers. Ms Oke said that the books are about a Teacher & a Mountie, but that wasn't the just of the stories. The shows were geared towards the family. They wanted the shows to show Happiness, Community, Hope, Belief, Loyalty, Friendship, etc. So when they decided to have Jack die instead of being replaced, just maybe they had insight that they may need to deviate further for the good of the show. I'm definitely Team Lucas so I'll be extremely disappointed if Elizabeth chooses Nathan, but by the time Season 9 comes I'll be ready to watch again & see where the stories go.

I saw a sneak peak from the finale. She goes to Nathan in the Mountie Office and to Lucas in the cafe. For my part, I would say that privately to someone I would turn down. Idk. the clips in the preview are not necessarily in the right order and the scenes can be unrelated. To me, the cafe scene could be also about Elizabeth acknowledging that indeed there is something between her and Nathan, something that she needs to identify and address. Happening early in the episode it could create another misunderstanding, Lucas taking her words as confirmation that yes, indeed, she loves Nathan.

Elizabeth seemed she needed Lucas’s help with something when she rushed into the saloon. IDK I didn’t get the impression her purpose was to gently tell Lucas she no longer had feelings for him. I’d like to think she wanted his help with Landis removing her from teaching and redistricting to county schools.
What about the note she's writing in the promo. I can read the word "Lucas" there.
This is so touching & real. Shows the pain of what they had to work through to get to where they really connected. Lucas was so patient, so willing to put her needs first and ultimately to let her go so she was free to work things out and follow her heart. I love and respect Nathan and feel he deserves love as well but N & E are meant to be together.

This made me feel sad for Lucas. I am team Lucas (though I do like Nathan,he is a good man. I feel for him and wish him the very best). I was thinking Hallmark being VERY predictable would have it be Nathan but now after seeing some of the promos I DK. We were warned to expect twists & turns & it could go either way.
In the finale of season 6 when elizabeth choose lucas as her dance partner i already know that her love interest will be lucas as you can see in season 7 there are lots of scenes of them together same in season 8 . I guess the storyline for elizabeth's love interest has already been set
It’s so obvious to me almost 100% obvious 99.9% that it’s going to be Lucas for Elizabeth and here’s why. Well several whys. Lucas has seen this all from a distance these are things that he seems to think is happening with Elizabeth. I believe that Nathan represents Jack. It was more clear than anything the other night when he came into her house and she took care of his coat and she reminisced about Jack.. Also it is not a coincidence that Lucas hasn’t gone into Elizabeth’s house. He wants Elizabeth’s full heart and right now it’s warring between the ghost of Jack/Nathan and him until her heart is his Lucas will not go into that house.If you notice Elizabeth has never even remotely have a near kiss with Nathan. It’s always been Lucas and I believe the big kiss or the kiss will be with Lucas!!!!!

Now I'm only watching because of him, and I strongly hope that Fiona is his new romantic partner, because she is the opposite of Elizabeth: a strong, determined woman who is well-defined in her choices. I continue to feel for Lucas. Frankly Elizabeth has treated him poorly recently (though in fairness she had been hard on Nathan and her BFF Rosemary). My gut feeling is that has been laying then ground work for her choosing Nathan in keeping w/ the Hallmark protocol. Erin Krakow also said that the loser takes it like a champ which after seeing this sad interaction at the end of episode 11 (which was a disappointment to me somewhat) that summation would fit Lucas far better than Nathan. That said, the other thing that comes to mind is that the main characters (all of whom did a great job of NOT revealing ANYTHING) have said that this season was full of surprises twists & turns. I still have trouble seeing a smooth transition (on Elizabeth’s part) to the big smooch with Nathan though there is some obvious caring/attraction. Ugh... looking forward to Season 9 in 2022 (assuming the rapture doesn’t happen first). 🙄😮😜😳
Yeah I agree. I still have some hope for Lucas because I don't know how well they'd be able to write in a Elizabeth/Nathan kiss when she was just in a relationship with Lucas.
It seems that whatever way the writers go, they need to make the losing team believe it. They have 1 episode left to make it happen. I am team Lucas until the end, but feel that if she picks N - then Lucas was used. N did not have much courting with E, so i would imagine TL fans could have a hard time trying to understand. On the other hand if Lucas is chosen TN fans may have a hard time trying to understand why Lucas was chosen. Oh! well i suspect that some fans will leave the show after the final because they are heartbroken or may not care for each male lead. I sure hope it all works out in the end. Helen said Lucas was only staying for a woman, but if he is turned down, he has no reason to stay. Pain would be everywhere and i wonder how he could heal from the loss. Nathan has Allie if E did not choose him. Time will tell.

I believe the triangle was E/Jack/ Lucas. I believe that Nathan represents Jack. I feel that E sees Jack in Nathan with the red serge. That would explain the deep connection. Every time she saw N/J she was feeling guilty with Lucas.

I just watched an interview with Chris McNally who plays Lucas. He said the production was having a hard time which direction would be better (wow even them too!) so they picked the person that would give her and him the opportunity to have more interesting stories and arcs. Wow that's crazy 😂!! I think Elizabeth and him would have a lot of interesting stories together. Him learning how to be a good father to Baby Jack, her opening herself up more, him giving her tips on more books she'd write, etc. Though her and Nathan could have interesting stories as well, them becoming a family of four, etc. But it might also remind me too much of her and Jack's storylines. I can not understand why the reason for a series that is delivering certain values that today a lot has been lost only has as the essence of a book, I am sure that if Jack had continued in the series they could have delivered another type of teaching at the of marriage with their pro and con or the other the commitment of the actors not only with a production team but with the people who see them. Sincerely for everything that Jack did despite being a Mounted Police, with the risks he always ran, until he overcomes those fears and marries Elizabeth, and for her it was Distressing when He had to do his duty, but that strength of them and hope was what they transmitted also Jack was going to leave the Mounted Police on missions outside the town, and he falls dead, which I do not know if it was because Daniel (Jack) wanted to withdraw or because they killed the character, then two arrive characters conquering Elizabeth's love, which does not leave me teaching because usually, when one is a single mother or a widow, the time is dedicated to children, work, in his case writing, teaching, preparing classes, it is believed that one he will have time to worry about who I like or who I choose or who causes me butterflies, I feel that when Jack died there was a break in the series. I also wouldn't be happy for Jack to appear as a ghost, but if it would be interesting for him to come back I think it would bring more interest to the series.

If they choose Lucas it will totally go against the original story line. Janette Oke would be upset. It is her books that the series are copied from. A teacher and a Mountie. The writers can deviate from the books but not that much.
Technically When Calls the Heart the show is based on a mix of the When Calls the Heart book series and When Courage Calls (which is from the Return to the Canadian West series), so it doesn't really follow the book that much already. I don't think they have to put her with a mountie again because Daniel Lissing left the show. Once Jack died, they completely deviated from the book, so I think that leaves them open to choosing whoever they want to be with Elizabeth now. Definitely see where you're coming from though, and I get your point. :)
I see your point as well. But I still maintain that they can’t change the story that much. They had no choice when Daniel Lissing left. The way I see it they are in the process of putting the story back to the way it was meant to be. Lucas is just another Charles. They are going back to the start and fixing what was broken. I may be wrong of course. I did read all the Canadian west series. If they choose Lucas it is no longer Janette Oke Canadian west series. Just a shadow of it. But I really don’t know how that works with her contract with the show. I am of course a Nathan fan because I read and enjoyed the books. I have watched this series from the start and am disappointed in the way they extended this so called love triangle for so long. It was a ploy to get their fan base up. It worked in a sense but I believe they will loose more fans in the end. Someone will be disappointed. Too bad. It was a very good show. It is no longer the relaxing and enjoyable show it used to be. I admit though it it does have some good story lines possibilities if there is a season 9. Hope it all goes well for everyone. You are doing a good job. You caught my attention. Good luck 💕

How can you let someone go when you never really had them? Elizabeth has always been drawn more to Nathan and has nothing to do with Jack or his memory. Blind fold on she didn’t know it was Nathan’s hands she was holding, but it’s who she felt a connection and Jack had nothing to do with it. She’s more playful with Nathan and seeks him out. Lucas does things on a big scale to impress Elizabeth.
I like Lucas character but not for Elizabeth. A mother’s view 😊, they’re close to my daughter and son’s age 😂
And I'm a widow and I understand the "guilt" aspect. I hope she chooses Lucas. I think Nathan would be to close to Jack's image.
