He retired as Financial Commissioner in the rank of Additional Chief Secretary to Government of Haryana on 31 October 2010. Presently Dr. Prasanna Kumar is working as Director General, Haryana Institute of Public Administration, Gurugram, which is the State Training Institute for the employees of the Haryana Government.
